asuustrike2009:Does university education teaches how to speak English flawlessly? the environment you were born into and your basic education determine how fluent your grammar would be but we've seen several persons who didn't have sound basic education but are still doing well in the aspect of grammar. bottom -line:Blunder or no blunder is not a yardstick for determining the best university or whatsoever. |

I PAID 50 NAIRA TO WATCH AGUERO, SAYS
MANCHESTER CITY'S IHEANACHO
Tomiwa Babalola
The forward has revealed how he saved up a token to
watch the Argentine score the title-winning goal for the
Citizens in 2012
Nigeria international, Kelechi Iheanacho has disclosed that
he had to save up 50 naira to watch Sergio Aguero scored
the title winning goal for Manchester City in the 2012/13
Premier League season.
The 20-year-old forward, who joined the Citizens two
seasons ago, said that was the club’s first match he
would watch, adding that he never knew he would play
alongside the same set of players he watched on the
television.
"There was one place in town that everybody called the
'game center,' and it had a satellite dish, but you had to
pay money to go inside," Iheanacho told
Theplayerstribune.
"It was 50 naira [about 15p] for a Premier League match,
and I did not have that kind of money. So I would wait
outside playing football with my mates until somebody
came out and told us what had happened in the match.
"In 2012, when I was 15, I saved some money and went to
the game center on the last day of the Premier League
season. It was a very big deal, because the title race was
so close.
"I sat there and watched Sergio Aguero score the last-
minute goal that won Man City the title -- and that took it
away from Man United. On the TV, Sergio took his shirt off
and whipped it around, and everybody in the game center
was going crazy."
"That was maybe the first Man City game I ever watched.
I had never been to England before. I had no idea that in a
few years, I would be playing on the same team as
Sergio," he continued.
"Because I was only 19, I did not expect to be in the
starting XI," he added. "When the manager told me that I
was going to start, I tried to tell myself, 'it's just a game of
football,' but if I am telling the truth, it is not a normal
game.
"The atmosphere and intensity gives you a very different
feeling as soon as you step on the pitch. It's war for 90
minutes in the Manchester Derby. You cannot give
anything less than 100 percent concentration. So I just
tried to focus completely on the match.
"I was so happy, but then in the 36th minute, something
really amazing happened. I was standing in front of the
United goal when Kevin [De Bruyne's] shot struck the post.
The ball came right to my feet. I kicked it into the back of
the net without thinking. I looked over to the linesman, not
believing that I had really scored. The flag was down. I
was onside.
"My teammates ran over to me, and I felt what I can only
describe as the 'Manchester Derby feeling.' No one can
know how I felt unless they've scored in the derby. I did
not even celebrate. The feeling was too much."

Michayo:I rep BCh.D,Ife. |
Dalyjay:Then go study Abroad. |
Stevebamdex:Any student who could scale through the hurdles of Waec and jamb examinations in Nigeria would be successful as a medical student if he is so enthusiastic about it..Most who failed out in Medical school were those who were compelled by either friends or family to study medicine. If he loves being a doctor, let him go for it provided that he wrote those aforementioned exams himself. |
Dalyjay:Adjudging from last year's admission, your chances of getting medicine with this five olevel results is very low, albeit with a high jamb score..But,if the rest of your olevel subjects results are filled with distinctions, I would urge you to pick OAU because it might eventually favour you.But be ready to cope with the erratic calendar of OAU. |
Kelklein:And this reminds me of OVREBO,the man who officiated the game between chelsea and Barcelona in 2009..One thing is that the referees are humans as well and are predisposed to mistakes. It's just that our league's officials and authorities are so incompetent and lack professional measures to run the league. In as much as OVREBO was never allowed to officiate a high profile match, the likes of Drogba and Ballack were severely sanctioned for expressing their reservations after the match..our league needs a committed sponsor and whole overhaul. |

idu1:schools are adhering to the stipulated quota given by Mdcn. |
Pharmumar:your constraint is simply low self esteem.Improve on this aspect and you're good to go.The only difference between you and your friends is that you're always afraid not to make mistakes because you think they might laugh you.And don't tell me you haven't heard them made mistakes. so it simply means no one is perfect. Even the greatest speakers of today make mistakes; some of which go unnoticed because they speak with confidence.Personally, I was in the same shoes as you before but I realised being afraid to speak even made me worse..Since I'm not too good at making people laugh, If they are able to laugh at my mistakes, I think I've achieved something tangible;Atimes it makes you more famous. Why do you think patience is more famous than Aisha?Even though,She knew she had committed blunders on numerous occasions, It didn't stop her from speaking with confidence.. And I'm very sure you're much better than her..Learn to accept your mistakes as part of the fun.No amount of books will help you my guy..The ball is in your court! |
progress69:The question is 'for how long will the scheme lasts?I believe there are numerous other ways in which the scheme can be twisted even with the retention of Its goals and objectives. It could have been implemented in a form 'Entrepreneurship'.The funds can be used to start up something meaningful that brings profit. 'Teach me how to catch fish rather than giving me fish'..when you worked for something, you would value that thing to the core..It's disheartening that the stipends may even do more harm than good. |
progress69:You may have made points in your writings but the truth is,Nigeria's factors such as Godfatherism and self servicing mentality wouldn't let the scheme to be a successful one.And the question is 'have they put all logistics in place to ensure that the scheme is well And widely implemented? I still maintain my stance though! |
dipoolowoo:Now,I knew I was only blinded by sentiments and hatred towards GEJ and his cohorts.perhaps,I was tired of his administration with no genuine reasons which instigated my lack of interest for him.I apologise to everyone I compelled to vote in this present administration via my actions and inactions. It's vivid PMB and his cohorts are bereft of visionary ideas and principles to propel this national into a considerable height.I don't see how this policy will change the present predicament. Nigeria's factor wouldn't even let the monies to get to their expected destinations..personally, I don't believe in giving money to people because for how long will the money sustain them rather I engage them or teach them how to make money independently.. |
In Nigeria, If you're light skinned, you're beautiful.. Why do you think Bleaching products sold more in Nigeria than any other countries of the world? |
Ecosystem4u:I shouldn't trade words with you because from my brief observation, you're just naive and parochial fellow who basks in the euphoria of a social platform..I'm not in anyway saying she's outrightly better than the rest but your choice of words made me to reach the way I did..You called her an 'APE' and it's just the same as saying we all are Apes because she's part of us..This is an aberration and grossly unacceptable If It's coming from one of us..Next time,I admonish you to put your intelligence into a meaningful use. |
Ecosystem4u:you seem bereft of any meaningful thing to utter.Atimes,It's good you put your acumen into good use..You should be wholly ashamed of yourself if you could call a fellow African like you an ape. It's insulting and impulsive. One would Wonder what would have become of you if you were white. She's extremely dark-skinned but she still won the contest.what's the big deal? Are you more intelligent than those who voted her?If you're still petulant about her exploit, I urge you to strip her off the title. |
Ecosystem4u:It's obvious Africa has a long way to go If an African could utter this balderdash. And the question is why do we complain about racism? |
eyinjuege:I don't think he'll buy this idea but anyways,thanks. |
Catalin:Thanks. |
midolian:Thank you. I just feel for him.but demanding money from one's parent for the sake of marriage is weird to me. |
Twaci:Thank you.And to your question,I'm pretty sure he doesn't have enough for himself.I don't believe he's even saving much because if he were,he wouldn't demand 100k from our mum. |
Hy nairalanders, I'm 22,a penultimate student of one of the federal universities in Nigeria. My elder brother,30,lives in Abeokuta, Nigeria. He wants to get married this year but I don't think he's matured yet financially. He gained admission into a college of technology, Osun state, that was in 2009,finished his OND program in 2012..since we were kids,we've been funded by a single mother following the demise of out father. My mother has done everything a good mother could do for her wards;we lacked nothing. My brother has been working for the past four years, yet nothing to show for his efforts. He still demands money from our mother when the need arises, yet, he hardly sends me money whenever I demand.I know he is financially broke,he's not being pretentious. My mom even sent him 100K last year just to help him settle down but the situation seems bad. But,I still believe It won't last forever..Now,He's demanding some money from my mum for his wedding. This thought makes me petulant, poignant and frustrated at the same time. our mum is actually not in support and she has reiterated the she won't give him. Now,my brother thinks I poisoned my mum's heart against him but I'm not bulged. My question is:should we back off judging from the fact that he's financially broke and has no stable job for sustainable income or should we support hoping things will get better? cc:lalasticlala, seun. |
