The PostUTME news has been ascertained.The just concluded Education sector stakeholders meeting gives credence to that.

With the current financial incapability of institutions in Nigeria.I opine that all aspirants with 200 and above will be invited for UI's PostUTME.Afterall,they will pay for this exam they are sitting for and consequently the funds to be generated will rise.

My Advice for aspirants is to weigh their cognitive ability before applying for a course.I wouldn't expect a candidate with 220 or less to apply for MBBS unless he/she encountered some unforeseen difficulties while or before the UTME.Reason being that a Candidate who is unable to score a total of 220 in UTME might find it difficult to comfortably pass UI's PostUTME because it is more of an advanced and more technical UTME.

Also,My fear is that..Aspirants should pick a course they are very sure their PostUTME marks will fetch them and not hope for a COC or the chant of "I will be given a lesser course" after PostUTME.Gone are the days when courses of less lucrativeness(as perceived by Nigerians) have very little or no aspirants.

There might be practically no spaces left for aspirants who are 1 or 2 marks lower than than their initial choice of course...Why??...The lesser courses might have been filled up by smart candidates with lesser scores but have applied directly for the course before PostUTME.

My brother, this case scenario is very simple...throughout this country, the optometrist will always outgross a dentist. No matter how small the optometry clinic, oga a dentist will not contend. The private sector has giving us their judgement of the relevance of the professions. Even a busy optician will outgross a dental clinic. Let me not even mention the non-clinical technical aspect of optometry busines involving blank surfacing and contact lens. Some surfacing labs make an average of 5m a week. Go to agbor and ask about.

Do u even go for outreach? You guys are few because ur board knows that if they increase intake u guys will beg for a living. Without any support, optometry still by far outgrosses ur department which eats from medicine's laps.

I hv someone in uniben, a 40 something old man that left 300 level dentistry to enter pharmacy complaining of lack of lucre in dentistry. Go ask of the dentist who works as security personnel in uniben...oga dont tell me what I know. Dentistry is not lucrative in Nigeria.simple

So far it is an exam, it ought to be objective enough to be used for assessment it was intended for. If it fails that, it is not the fault of the student but those conducting the exam and students ought not be made to face the consequence of failure of those saddled with conducting a fair exam. If you say people cheat in one exam, and then start conducting another exam where cheating rear its head again, what else do you do? You conduct another exam, and another exam and another exam, and we have an endless series of exams?
Our problem in Nigeria is that we are never thorough to solve problems at roots, we seek quick fix to every problem and thus have never succeeded in really solving any problem.
I live close to unilag and know that most tutorial centres around the university gave out unilag post jamb questions prior to the day of the exam, so that in the long run the problem of circumventing malpractice does not end but simply return at a different level. And just as it is in unilag so is it in most of our universities. Nigerian university admission problem just like every other problems in other facet of our national life is one of corruption. As long as corruption reigns in the land, cheating will continue to thrive at any level exam is conducted.

  The most spectacular situation is that the students gave a good account of themselves as one of them was the best medical graduate when they were sponsored by the State of Osun  Government to complete their medical course in Ukraine
