Heated argument up and downgringrin. I talked about this beefing not too long.
We should try as much as possible to enlighten each other not quarrel.
It was from here I knew about specialities in Dentistry likewise medicine. It is this same thread I knew differences in medical syllabus around Nigeria. It is this same thread I understood USMLE, PLAB and NCLEX. This same thread I knew about NMA and JOHESU. This same thread I knew of Veterinary medicine. This same thread I read about sanctions of medical schools.
MrEggHead can never add anything tangible just trolling like a toddler even if he has a first degree.
I will tutor you in every sphere of life than you can imagine..Just try to solve your complex issues, then you'll be okay with any course of study.

Jamb form? You people are so limited. Life's bigger than Nigeria. I'm done with my international exams, just awaiting ease on travel ban to get out of this useless country.
You people should aim at that. Nigeria has nothing in stock for you.
Read your books, graduate and leave(if you pass your international exams). I'm not your problem
We have seen Ph.D holders come back for Medicine, your case wouldn't break any record...Even in the UK or US where you're traveling to, you'll still take orders from those you loath so much, that's the reality.. There's no escape route.

Simply create a thread in conjunction with your partner Zeeknow3245, elaborating why you think the choice of MBBS should be reviewed among upcoming students.

Your campaign doesn't fit here, unless you would like to label yourself as an Anti-MBBS. Stop invading this territory!!!

Baba MrEgghead, there is a number of doctors/MBBS students here yet, nobody wants to respond except you. If you're less busy, download Chess and play grin. Sometimes, it's an insult to prove oneself right.
Not only me, many people have been responding..what's the purpose of this thread when we have people out there trying to degrade the course and discourage aspiring students from applying to study Medicine? You can go into hibernation for all I care but people like us who hold our course in high regard will not fold our arms and watch the less informed give our potential colleagues reasons to regret their decisions..They can create topics and threads addressing the contempt against MBBS but not on this platform.

Who are the Medical students, if I may ask?

Medicine? Dentistry or All Medical courses?

©️2021.
MBBS students are Medical students, BDS students are Dental students, then we have physiotherapy students, Nursing students, pharmacy students: these are the official designations.. Everyone in the college of medical sciences is not a medical student.
EducationRe: The medical students and aspirants thread by MrEgghead(m): 10:50pm On Jan 18, 2021
samuelpeters:
Please stop that!
This thread is for ALL medical students. I hate it when people say " All of you wanted Medicine."

We all wanted medicine because our secondary schools lack information. Most of us do not know about MLS, Physiotherapy and Radiography, then maybe Nursing and Pharmacy until we started sitting for JAMB etal. We only know Medicine and had built a passion around it before we "Fvcked it" and move on to other courses.

So don't rub it on anyone's face here.

©️2021.
The truth is really bitter and the realities are on ground..You fvcked it but you still come to troll it..That's my point. If they don't come to throw tantrums at medical students, Nobody will say anyone's inferior..

I
I grasp you bro but you know this is a medical Aspirant thread. They will give you every reason to believe medicine is all in all, and they are right for that since it is a medical student thread.
I initially love Medicine for humans until I worked with a vet for months now.
My dad died years back and it spurred me to go for Medicine coupled with reading this thread. I said I wanted to be a cardiologist and help people with heart issues. I read hard for Jamb three years consecutive. I wrote in my state and never fell short off 275. I was told I could get it if I paid money but I refused.
I felt disappointed and I still love helping people. Then last year September I read of Veterinary medicine then I switched from medicine to it.
Personally speaking I love Agriculture and I have been doing it for sometime spurred me to pick the course.
I also realised If I work hard enough I could help those with heart issues by giving some money to Doctors for treatment. I could even run a Non-profit if God provides more for me later in Life.
Everybody has what is moving him or her.
They are few reasons
* Seeing a loved one suffer or die of Health issues
* Job availability
*Prestige
*Money
* Doing it for a long time
I kindly advise you to move your opinion and advice to another thread to avoid ill feelings. Anyways kudos to you
.

You really sound pained.
Medicine has and would never be an option for me. I see it as stressing oneself.
The advice I gave might not be for you, but someone would key into it. I know what I'm saying.
You're obviously suffering from inferiority complex. Every man is bound to make his choices and lives to bear the prons and cons. You don't see MBBS students troll over other students in the medical sciences but you wanabees will always come up with one or two facallies to discourage them..

Lol. Nigeria is a failed state.

Okay, why not do this? Every student should be assigned a zoom id on his or her portal. Telecos should cut down the cost of data for students. Engage students with online classes and Cbt exams should be done online too.
For how long will that be? and exams will be done from home too? If there's anything like that, we're not ripe for such. The cov-19 of a thing is not deadly as Nigerian media are portraying it, some benefits from the WHO are attached to it.. Compelling doctors to diagnose anyone presenting symptoms of respiratory infections as having Corona virus is one of their shenanigans particularly in Nigeria...

Thank you sir I appreciate...As regards my timetable it really work for me, I finish p.n okeke physics textbook in 2days it even made understand physics better than ever..I do take little breaks like 30minutes for daydreaming...You see sir, reason why am I want to be a doctor is because of the sickness that tormented my dad for 18yrs, he had stroke back then we were poor as church rats, no good treatment for him, nobody came to his rescue even his blood brother living next door to us never even for one day came to check on him when he was deteriorating with this sickness, I was helpless wishing I were a doctor to save him from excruciating pains he encounters on daily basis even at night we can't sleep well because of his cry for help..The stroke reached its climax and affected his brain, his vision ie eyes etc to cut the story short I watched him died a helpless man..And I vowed to be a doctor no matter what..
Life isn't fair atimes, and sorry about your father but it's a good thing it has become your surging force..

Great medics in the house I greet you all, happy new year.. please I need your advice, am 25 years old, I will be enrolling for jamb this year, aspirant of mbbs though..I need guidelines on how to score very high in utme/ post utme pls help me out, am willing and ready to pay the price no matter how Herculean the task maybe.. I have even devise my personal time table for intense studying, 18hrs per day.. All I need is guidelines from experienced persons to put me through, your encouragement is also needed because I have had terrible discouragements from my peers.. Family issues made me waste years at home, my father was suffering from stroke it affected my education so bad, plus other factors that I wouldn't like to disclose, help a brother, God bless you all...
It's time to move on from your past bro. The personal time table is quite okay and it doesn't necessarily have to 18 hrs per day..To be sincere, you may not be able to meet that target each day except perhaps you're an exceptionally committed human being. I believe by now you should have know your strengths and weaknesses as regards the subjects you'll be writing. Complementing your texts with Lamlard's texts will improve your understanding of those subjects and for English, you can get the "invisible teacher". Make sure you read to know everything in those texts and this requires ample time and commitment..

Although I am not in the best place to tell you what to do. I will be sincere with you sir I am currently 20. Yes I am Young soon approaching 21. I am currently doing side hustle and computer work for people to get money to invest more in my Business. I am waiting to get into vet school which is 6 years course. I know I will spend extra two three years making it 28 years hopefully I will be done. I won't do residency. Maybe masters but I will go into vet business.
Medicine on the other hand is different except you want to be a General practitioner. Even if its Obstetrics and Gynaecology or Paediatrics you will spend close to 5years. I am just estimating 32 you will be done with med then residency makes it 37 years. There are other courses related to it like Dentistry or even Nursing and maybe Radiography will help you make the relevant income to travel abroad go for extra training and maybe work for sometime and return. If the UK is in your mind Dentistry, Radiography and Nursing is the best bet.
Medicine is a lifetime thing. Doctors are always needed but Age and experience matters. I am not here to deter you or be an obstacle to you so don't misquote me.
There's life after med school that I know of and it is way tougher than being in med school.
Dentists, Nurses and Radiographers are highly sorted in the UK. If it is Nigeria you want to remain Nursing and Radiography is best from communications I have made. If you study medicine here and you want a field like radiology, anesthesiology, cardiology, neurology and oncology and cancer therapy which is highly sorted, we know the politics involved.
Take this from me like your kid brother giving you Advice. He might speak funnily but still makes little sense.
Incase some of you want to question, insult me in mentions, I did not cook up this things I wrote, My Family doctor was formerly working in National Hospital Abuja as a Family Medicine consultant and he is currently working with UNICEF. So read and re-read
The person you quoted is not confused on which course to study. He made it clear that it is Medicine, there's no need owaisting your time and energy to write epistle and at the end, you couldn't give the right response to his question.

He is thinking i dont want him to study my course. Pls help me i want to defeat his intention with facts.
What's your principle? Writing exams for someone else because of money or otherwise is one thing I can NEVER do..it doesn't make sense..Life isn't all about money, you should have principles, don't encourage nonsense from people..Mind you if you're caught, the money will be useless to you and your admission could be revoked.. Medicine is not mearnt for every dick and harry, don't bring mediocres and nitwits into this profession.

JBArokonkwo1:
There are alot of factors to consider before opting for a root canal treatment.
They are
1. Cost: Root canal is not a cheap procedure and after its completion the tooth needs to be crowned(capped). This ideally in a govt hospital cost nothing less than 50k in Nigeria. Also it requires multiple visits.
2. Availability of equipment: Some centers don't have x-ray machines and an ideal root canal treatment requires minimum of four x-rays. This may make it impossible to carry out.
3. Tooth health status: Not all teeth are restorable. Many are badly broken down so much that the prognosis for a root canal treatment may be very poor.
4. Tooth support: the bony support for a tooth may be inadequate to hold a tooth and root canal may not be feasible......

Because your child resembles you is not enough.
I've seen a case where the boy resembles the dad.

When it's time to move the child and the mom abroad, the DNA result showed that the man is not the biological father.
In as much as the presumed husband is having sex with the lady during the period of pregnancy or conception, there's likely to be some sort of resemblance..DNA transcription takes place actively during the time of pregnancy, and some sort of genetic mutation may occur, so you're right.

I'm a medical student in UNIBEN.. You had a good score and you stand a great Chance in gaining admission into MBBS especially if you're from the south south zone but the thing is that it all depends on the general performance and we can't really tell how the general performance was...
During my time, merit was 77, catchment: 74 and last year merit was 73, catchment was 71 because last year's post UTME was quite bloody..
Just stay calm and be an expectant, you have a bright chance of making it.
