Biafra, officially known as the Republic of Biafra, was a secessionist unrecognized state in West Africa which existed from 30 May 1967 to January 1970; it was made up of the states in the Eastern Region of Nigeria. Venezuela’s President, Nicolas Maduro took to the US president’s favorite medium, Twitter, on Monday to ask him to start a dialogue between the two countries. “@RealDonaldTrump campaigned pledging to promote non-interference in the domestic affairs of other countries. It’s time to keep your pledge,” Maduro wrote, encouraging Trump to hold a meeting in Washington or Caracas.Maduro and senior government officials, including Attorney General Tarek William Saab, have alleged that the US is orchestrating an alleged plan for a “military invasion” of Venezuela from neighboring Colombia. “The military bombing, the military invasion, the blood and fire occupation of a peaceful country like Venezuela are being planned,” Saab charged last week, an allegation Colombia has flatly denied. On a recent tour of Latin America, top US diplomat Rex Tillerson floated the idea of slapping sanctions on Venezuela’s oil exports, the source of 96 percent of the country’s revenues. Tillerson met in Bogota with Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos. The United States has already imposed financial sanctions on Venezuela, forbidding its citizens and companies to negotiate debt issued by the Maduro government and the state oil company PDVSA. Maduro has assured that he will travel to Lima in April for the Summit of the Americas, which Trump will attend. But the Peruvian government announced that it will not allow Maduro to attend, on the grounds that he has broken with his country’s democratic institutional order. A top official of Federal Capital Territory Administration, Dr. (Mrs.) Kehinde Catherine Ilupeju is demanding the sum of N50 million from the Embassy of Turkey in Nigeria for issuing her a wrong visa. The civil servant made the demand in a petition to the Ambassador of Turkey in Nigeria written on her behalf by her solicitors, Forthright Chambers on January 2 2017. In the petition titled, “Violation Of Dr. (Mrs) Catherine Kehinde Ilupeju’s Fundamental Human Right To Freedom Of Movement, Liberty And The Dignity Of Her Human Person: Demand For The Payment Of The Sum Of N50,000,000 (Fifty Million Naira) As Compensation For Her Financial Loss, Harassment, False Imprisonment, Maltreatment And Deportation By The Turkish And Cypriot Authorities On Account Of The Failure Of The Officials Of The Turkish Embassy In Nigeria To Observe The Expected Duty Of Care Owed Her,” the petitioner narrated how she was given a wrong visa which led to her detention and eventual deportation from Cypriot by security operatives when she presented it at Ercan International Airport, Nicose on December 24 2017. While narrating the circumstances that led to the unpleasant journey, Dr. Ilupeju, recalled that she had on 15 December 2017 applied for a visa at Turkish Embassy in Nigeria to visit her son who was studying at European University, Cyprus. She said she got the visa on December 20 2017 and thus, embarked on the trip to Turkey from Abuja on a few days later. Turkish Embassy However, she was arrested on arrival at Ercan International Airport by security operatives who alleged she did not have the necessary documents to enter that part of Cyprus. Dr Ilupeju alleged that she was kept in detention from about 4 pm on December 24 2017, to about 9 am of the following day when she was escorted by security operatives to Istanbul where she was kept in another detention facility until about 9 pm of the Christmas Day and deported to Nigeria. The civil servant lamented that she was treated as an illegal immigrant and subjected to the indignity of detention, harassment, untold embarrassment and eventual loss of huge financial resources despite the fact that she paid the sum of $400 in cash at the Turkish Embassy in Nigeria. The officials of Turkish Embassy were aware that our client was traveling to the European University of Cyprus for which she was charged $400 as processing fee which she paid in cash. “From the documents she submitted, the Embassy officials ought to have known they did not possess the authority to issue her a visa that would be respected in that part of Cyprus where the said university is located. This, our client considers as a serious breach of a duty of care owed to her by the Turkish Embassy in Nigeria,” solicitors to the FCTA official said in making the demand for the N50 million compensation. The petitioner’s lawyers threatened to take legal action against the Embassy if the demand of their client for compensation was not acceded to. A copy the petition was also sent to the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs. http://saharareporters.com/2018/02/17/nigerian-official-issued-wrong-visa-turkish-consulate-abuja-demands-n50-million cc: lalasticlala |
Well known to all even before I mention, this issue of yahoo boys (internet fraudsters) is really pathetic. And the funny thing which is also a bitter truth is that they spend valuable time on this illegal exhibition that they would rather have spent on a more legit and profitable make money online endeavor. Needless to say that they’ve got several tactics they utilize, trust me, they never run out of ideas! If you are a frequent internet user, you would have at some points in your online surf come across some posts that look too good to be true and at the same time too tempting to be ignored. Yahoo Yahoo Internet Fraud has gone far way more than just dating sites scams, dudes are littered everywhere on the world wide web looking for unsuspecting preys. But is it really worth it? Damn right, you might say YES! But taking a good look at it from a right mindset, I ask you again, is it really worth it? Let’s take a swift look into some 6 Reasons Why People Engage In Yahoo Yahoo Internet Fraud WHY PEOPLE ENGAGE IN YAHOO YAHOO INTERNET FRAUDS/SCAM 1. OPPRESSION When a typical young man sees his secondary school best friend stunning with designer shoes on Instagram, For real? I was better than this dude! That’s the thought that flies through his mind. Or when a rich dude comes around and maneuvers off with his girlfriend, then that feeling of “ I must be rich” comes up his head. And if you want to be rich by force, is Yahoo Yahoo Internet Fraud the best idea? Let’s leave the answer for a later date. 2. GREED The Yoruba people will call it “Ojukokoro“. It is that intense and selfish desire for something, in this case, wealth. When you simply want the whole world to yourself without proportional effort put in. Then to them, the fastest way to this is Internet Fraud, which even in reality is not as easy as it seems. 3. DEPRESSION This is a feeling of severe despondency and dejection often caused by unfortunate circumstances that negatively affects how you feel, the way you think and how you act. It might be subsequent to oppression, which got a young man thinking deeply about his life, then resort to Yahoo Yahoo Internet Fraud as a means to live a better life. 4. IMPATIENCE This is the tendency to be restless. No foresight. The crave for rocket science and the wanting of magical effects in all situations. Humans should understand that if life was so easy and if goodies came in a rush, there would be no need to do the things we do on daily basis. We need to take it as it comes, doing the right thing the right way, it might take time, but the right time will always be the right time. The inability to calm down and wait for results subsequent to a positive action often lead to wrong actions, Yahoo Yahoo Internet Fraud, in this case. 5. ACUTE POVERTY This is a very serious shortage of purchasing power or of access to the range of resources that provide the basic necessities of life, such as food and shelter. In cases like this, coupled with some other factors, some are left with no other alternative but to go illegal, pathetic! 6. UNEMPLOYMENT / BAD ECONOMY I was thumbing through Naijaloaded the other day and I saw a thread that read “I want to become a G boy, I have been unemployed for 5 years after graduating, I need someone to teach me“. I couldn’t find my way to the thread again, would have dropped a link or probably screenshot. It’s no news that the state of the nation in terms of job opportunities is bad, but that still doesn’t act as enough justification to do the G, as popularly called. All said, yet none of this is enough justification to engage in internet scams. There are loads of Internet Businesses that are legit. Let’s spend our days building a better nation, not spoiling our already crumbling reputation. This is my piece, don’t forget to share with friends. Cc; Lalasticlala |
Desiring spiritual breakthrough this new year?Hoping this year will bring a loved one’s complete surrender to Christ? You might want to consider fasting and prayer. For those of us who long for spiritual intimacy with the Father, fasting and prayer affords us the opportunity to do so. Here are four spiritual benefits fasting can bring. Fasting Leads to Greater Intimacy We deny our carnal nature in order to fulfill the desires of God. What He wills for our lives can be found through fasting and prayer. Our spirit and soul experiences joy because of fasting. It’s a decision to momentarily die to our flesh to fulfill the greater things of a mighty God who seeks us. “The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day, {Mark 2:20}. Know that the sacrificial elements of fasting always incurs eternal benefits. There are those we want to win for Christ this year. Our temporary physical discomfort has spiritual rewards. We Surrender Our Comfort to Gain Spiritual Clarity Our 21st century culture can lead us to becoming numb to what matters to God, yet praying through a fast challenges sharpens our spiritual discernment. We can fast from things: social media, television, food, even a negative mindset. We can fast for things: those yet surrendered to Christ, our local church, and our neighborhoods. We gain wisdom and guidance through fasting. We are able to discern the will of God through fasting and deep prayer. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God,” {Romans 12:2}. Opens Our Hearts to Spiritual Revival We kindle Holy Spirit fire as we fast and pray. We become change agents and intercessors for the broken and hurting during a fast. Our hearts are revived and refreshed spiritually because of it. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem…and to the end of the earth,” {Acts 1:8}. Empowerment flows when we pray and fast. We are that much more able to press into the greatest commission of all—gaining souls for an eternal harvest, (see Matthew 28). Prayer and Fasting Breaks Satanic Strongholds When the Jesus’s disciples were unable to deliver a young boy of an evil spirit, Jesus told them, “This kind cannot come out, except by prayer,” (see Mark 9:29). Praying while fasting positions us victoriously. Through deep prayer we can combat spiritual opposition and satanic strongholds. When difficulties arise, Christ-Followers have the ability to harness the potential of the Holy Spirit through fasting and prayer. Our barren hearts are refreshed and revived when we fast and pray. We are better equipped to dealing with the momentary trials we’ll face on earth because we’re aligned with God, his angels, and the power of the Holy Spirit. “Is not this the fast that I choose: to loose the bonds of wickedness…to let the oppressed go free and to break every yoke?” {Isaiah 58:6}. We are equipped with dunamis might or strength (See Strong’s Concordance 1411) to combat the enemy’s opposition. Easing Your Way into a Fast If you’ve never fasted before, begin slowly. For those with dietary constraints, fast from social media or other comforts unrelated to food. Begin by skipping one or two daily meals; replace food with prayer and petitions. Write the names of loved ones who you’re fasting for in a journal or prayer card. Come out of a fast gradually by eating broths and vegetables; don’t consume rich or heavy foods immediately. Celebrate spiritual breakthroughs when they arrive; trust that God sees and hears your earnest prayer and sacrifice. St. Augustine of Hippo once said, “BY THE HELP of the merciful Lord our God, the temptations of the world, the snares of the Devil, the suffering of the world, the enticement of the flesh, the surging waves of troubled times, and all corporeal and spiritual adversities are to be overcome by … fasting, and prayer.” When We Deny our Flesh, our Spiritually Cravings are Fortified. Fasting and sacrificial prayer will not go in vain. It will always benefit those in your immediate circle and in the lives of Christ-followers in your community. Let God be good to you through fasting and prayer in this new season of your life. As Psalm 34: 8 declares to us all, “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him, (KJV). https://www.ibelieve.com/faith/what-happens-when-you-fast-4-spiritual-benefits.html Cc; Lalasticlala |
Apparently, Methylated Spirit and Coke, is the ‘new wave’ among Nigerian youths. When Olamide’s “Science Student” was released early this year, it was heavily criticised for endorsing and celebrating an already worrisome drug culture among Nigeria’s youth. His defence, and that of many who spoke in his favour was that he was only highlighting the problem and calling the attention of those at the core of it to do better and take charge of their lives. Now that we are seeing photos of methylated spirit and Coke, we are inclined to believe Olamide was right. You may think you’ve seen it all but apparently, there’s a new trend among those craving the euphoria of a momentary high. Apparently, young men are mixing medical-grade methylated spirit with the popular soft drink, Coca- Cola to create a cocktail that gets them high. This unholy mixture is yet to have a name but from all indications, it is catching on fast. Please Don’t Indulge In This. #SayNoToDrugAbuse Cc; Lalasticlala |

WHO WAS JESUS CHRIST? Was He just a Prophet? Maybe Jesus was just a good guy? Or, more importantly, was Jesus the Son of God, the word made flesh? The following verses below are taken only from the Gospels except the last verse. Jesus Himself answers these things and tells you Who He Is. "When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. 2 And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” 3 Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed" (Matt.8:1-3). The leper worshiped Jesus. Jesus touched the leper and he was immediately cleansed. Who could heal a leper just by touching him? Only God has this power to heal. "And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples 3 and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” 4 Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: 5 The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. 6 And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me" (Matt.11:2-6). Notice that the answer was not Our soldiers are ready to fight, our swords are sharpened, we have raised an army and will attack Rome soon,' as some believe Jesus was just a military man. No, this is not the answer Jesus gave. The answer He did give was something only God can do. The next verse is about Peter walking on water to meet Jesus. Peter starts to sink and Jesus reaches out His hand and rescues him. The following verse in Matt.14:33 says, "Then those who were in the boat came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly You are the Son of God.” So Jesus received worship as the Son of God. So lets continue. In Matt.16:13-19, Peter calls Jesus the Christ, the Son of the living God. Peter did not answer Jesus by saying how he is the soldier who will raise an army to defeat the Romans in battle. Christ is not a title anyone can have. Nobody on earth has ever bore such a title except Jesus. Mark 14:61-62, "...Again the high priest asked Him, saying to Him, “Are You the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” 62 Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” Here again, the title Christ is understood to mean something beyond a military leader. No military leader in the ancient world went by the rank of Christ. And not just any good guy was called Christ. "And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God" (Luke 1:35). "When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.” 21 And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” (Luke 5:20-21). So the Pharisees, who were the dominant majority of Jewish teachers, knew that only God can forgive sin. They accused Jesus of blasphemy for forgiving sin. Here is one you don't see quoted much in discussions like this. But it sure looks very clear to me that Jesus is God in the text. "Now the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying, 39 “Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you.” And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him" (Luke 8:38-39). Jesus drives out demons from this possessed man and tells him to return to his home and tell what great things GOD has done for him. So he goes home and tells the whole city what JESUS had done for him. Luke 9:18-22 is also worth looking up, as Peter answered Jesus and said He is "The Christ of God." So those who think the title Christ means a good guy or just a religious teacher are not paying attention to what is written about the Christ in the Gospels. The next verse is about Jesus being put on trial in the Sanhedrin. Luke 22:70-71, 70 Then they all said, “Are You then the Son of God?” So He said to them, “You rightly say that I am.” 71 And they said, “What further testimony do we need? For we have heard it ourselves from His own mouth.” Jesus admits He is the Son of God. Then there is John 1:1-5, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it." John 1:14, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth." John 4:25-26, "The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ). “When He comes, He will tell us all things.” 26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.” John 5:17-18, "But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.” 18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God." John 8:57-59, "Then the Jews said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?” 58 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.” 59 Then they took up stones to throw at Him; but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by." Jesus said He is I AM (Exo.3:14). That is why the Jews picked up stones to throw at Him. Jesus just said He is God. John 14:6-7, "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. The Father Revealed 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” He is telling His disciples that they have seen God...the word made flesh. A very clear statement where Jesus is telling His disciples He is God. John 19:15, "...Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!” The chief priests here have just denied the Father and the Son and are now idolaters who worship false gods like Caesar. John 20:28-29, "28 And Thomas answered and said to Him, “My Lord and my God!” 29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” And last, moving back to a prophecy in Isaiah about the coming Christ, Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder. And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Jesus is the word made flesh. He is God. |
