Don't get it wrong. I don't think there is any free health insurance plan in NY. It's either you're on any kind of government assisted program such medicare/medicaid or you/your spouse is an 1199 member. Ask her how she got her free plan first before you conclude.

When next u are asked that kind of question,ensure u avoid stating an amount. You could say, "I believe that a reputable company like urs can pay me a fairly reasonable and motivating amount, which will not affect their budgeted profit". Leave the interviewer to struggle with the meaning.

Order for interlibrary loan through your school libraray if you dont want to buy it right away, then after the semester you return it, thats what I do here I do interlibrary loan another school in the UD that has the textbook, sends it to me I keep it till semester ends then i return it.

health insurance is expensive,the way out is for u to ask ur school's international office if they accept an alternative provider..once they accept,get the required documentation they will have to fill,sign and stamp,then we can go from there

ensure u know what ur talking about...is it health insurance or medical test? If it's medical test u can do it from naija,if it's health insurance u can also do it with any Health insurance provider as long as they meet the requirements of ur school...My school is on an "A-rating" classification

Health Insurance here is very expensive,last year I took my school's plan and was charged $1,700 for a year,but this year I got the alternative insurance form and used it,which cost me $600...
