Business › Re: Young And Aspiring Entrepreneurs In Abeokuta, let's Meet! by MrMcJay(m): 10:10pm On Sep 24, 2014
Hi Newacca, it's a wonderful initiative that you have here that I would really love to be part of.

Well, I'm a Real Estate and Investment lawyer based in Lagos. I offer advisory services to businesses and individuals on corporate and investment matters. Personally, I have a fondness for Startups and I have a couple of startup businesses here in Lagos that I offer legal solutions. I intend extending this to Abeokuta and I hope to rub minds with the future billionaires on this thread.

I'm presently based in Lagos but I shuttle between Abeokuta and Lagos. However, I'll be around for the next meeting on sunday.

I'll send you a PM and I hope to pick things up from there.

Cheers.

People should not be deceived. Tinubu empire is going down in Lagos[/size]
I thought you PDP said Tinubu went to the US for medical treatment? Now, it is to bribe a US Judge. you think their judges there are like Katsina Alu, Aondoakaa, Awokulehin or the latest dunce in town Adoke?

I wonder why Asari Dokubo, Al-Mustapha and Kashamu didn't get national awards too.
Properties › Re: Process Of Buying Land In Nigeria by MrMcJay(m): 3:59pm On Sep 15, 2014
ikomi2014: Goodday Igbonla,

Please I'm looking at getting a plot of land at ikorodu part of ogun state, Ogijo, gbaga. And there's an agent that wants to sell to me but he claims the land is an estate, but wen I got to the site there was no claim of the location being an estate. So please kindly advise me and also I would like to know if it's possible for me to get any lands for sale (Ofada,Simawa, et'al). Price range should be between 150 - 350 Full plt or Half plot.

Kind Regards,
Emmanuel
Very simple. If the land is indeed an estate, ask the Agent to show you the layout of the estate and/or the perimeter survey of the land. If he claims to have none of these, ask him for a copy of the Deed of Assignment with which the land was bought or the Power of Attorney with which the land came into their control. The documents should bear the name of the company promoting the estate as the Assignee or Donee as the case may be. If he has none of these, simply walk away.

Secondly, lands in those locations you stated have gone far above the price you are stating here. Kindly increase your budget and buy a land with rest of mind. The truth is that you would very rarely get a genuine land in that area for that amount.

Cheers.

Cool

Back then in King's College, most of the kids from that 'Federal Character' region got into school but didn't graduate. I can count on a mutilated finger the number of those who were able to sustain the academic rigors of the College. For instance, when I was in JSS 1-2, we were more than 80 in my class and we had A-H arms per level (i.e 80x8). However, when I finished there, we were a little above 50.

This same thing repeated itself in my Uni where the Chancellor is a Prominent Northern Traditional Ruler. He 'encouraged' students from the North to study in that University even when they couldn't beat the requisite marks. Most of them got admitted by hook or crook but the experiment ended in total failure. These guys had the largest collections of Fs around. Most of them actually dropped out in their Second year.

Imagine walking to the hospital and you have an option of being treated by a doctor who qualified on merit or who qualified based on quota. Which would you choose?

Politics › Re: Opposition Intensifies Against Buhari Within APC by MrMcJay(m): 1:46am On Sep 07, 2014
Firefire: AS a signal of the opposition that former Head of State, Alhaji Muhammadu Buhaari, is currently facing within the All Progressives Congress (APC), posters announcing his 2015 presidential bid, which were earlier pasted on walls and other strategic places in the ancient city of Kano, have been removed by unknown people.

A reliable source told Sunday Tribune that most of the powerful politicians in the APC did not favour Buhari’s bid to be the standard-bearer of the party in the 2015 presidential election.

According to the source, the inner circle members of the party were of the view that General Buhari is not only too old for the job, he is also not a sellable material, having contested the presidential race and lost on three different occasions.

It was their view that the same antecedents and antics that worked against him in 2003, 2007 and 2011 were still in the minds of the electorate, who, the source said, were spread across the northern parts of the country.

It was also stated that the crisis that erupted after the presidential election in 2011 in which many youths lost their lives may work against him and this may work have negative impact on the party.

It was also stated by the source that most of well-to-do and heavy weight politicians in the party may not with to deploy their financial war chest to help the APC in prosecuting the election.

Notable personalities Kano State governor, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and the speaker of the House of the Representatives, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal are believed to have interest in contesting the presidential election, and may not throw their weight behind Buhari’s presidential candidature.

Already, former vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has declared his intention to take another shot at the exalted position.

It was said that series of underground meetings were had been held on how to convince General Buhari to step down and endorse one aspirant among Atiku, Tambuwal and Kwankwaso.

Said the source: “If he is adamant on contesting the presidential primary, the members will let him do so, but they may work against him at the APC presidential primary.

“In the end, Buhari may resolve to pull out of the APC and to contest the presidential election on the platform of another party ,as he did during the 2011 presidential election build-up, when he pulled out from the defunct All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) and hurriedly formed the defunct Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) after being tactically edged out by the former presidential candidate of the defunct ANPP, Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau.

“A political pandora’s box will unfold from this month, but take it or leave it, Buhari will not get the ticket of the APC for the 2015 presidential election, and this will probably force his exit from the party.”

This, the source said, might cause crisis within the party and lead to mass exodus of highly notable members of the party and eventually affect the chance of the party at the polls.

This, he said, could pave the way for an easy ride by President Goodluck Jonathan in his effort to secure a second term of office.

hansad: You people sef, continue with your belief that you are fooling children in Nigeria. All the APC plot of power must return to north 2015 is about Nigeria becoming an Islamic state. Or perhaps you are living in denial of reality. Give the far north Aso Rock in 2015, in the next 50 years, no other group in Nigeria shall preside over Nigeria. Mark this in your diary. By the way, have we not passed that route before, where one far-northerner passed apex political power to the other for nearly 30 years? Worse is that they never used the power advantage to improve the lot of the masses in the far north. A lot of far-north masses instead groomed to become religious extremists.
Charlie, dis ur tale na story for the gods. Don't waste your tears over "mere" Senatorial election as you would need it for 2015.

Congratulations to the Progressive Family
My Brother, GEJ is finished, he just doesn't know it yet. His real enemies are not in the APC, they are the undercover guys in the PDP. Why do you think the gale of defections to the APC stopped? It is because instead of the new APC members to defect, they are to remain in the PDP and ensure that the PDP gets a befitting burial. After the elections, they would then decamp.

Anyone who doubts that APC has guys high up in PDP's azs should ask himself how PDP granted Ribadu a waiver. Even to the extent of extending the waiver to other aspirants just to ensure that Nuhu gets it
