My atheism only started when my mother died.

I think the problem is here is lack of plan on your side. If you have a financial plan, it will help you make decisions. Are you the only earner at home? Don't think you are feeding the family because your dad is there.

How do you overcome this?

Take this year as a family year, so all earnings goes to them. As a salary earner, you just have two months to close of business year. I do not think there is anything you can do this year. December is fast approaching and there will be expecting a lot from you.

In January, set out a target you want to achieve at the end of the year. Let them know this is what you want and the amount you will be saving towards that project. There is no room for secrecy again since you are living with them and they already know your salary. By having a target, it helps you save money towards it. You must discipline yourself towards this target. You need to discuss with your dad too.

So many persons are having same issue with you, trust me, it's time to think like a man. Most men are tamed "stingy" only because they have a vision for their money. You must do the maths, and have a plan for your tf, feeding, and the rest...

I was thinking of having a book on how salary earners should have a yearly budget to help them optimize their income.

Make it so plain to her that next year, you can only be giving her a particular amount every month as you have a goal to meet.

Secondly, you need to know how long she have been into that. If she have been smoking for more than 3 years, then it is very hard to stop her from smoking. But if she is just starting, then you may need to discuss it with her.

The first line of action is to know the alternative to smoking. Does she smoke when she is alone? If yes, then you must try to be with her always. Loneliness can make one do anything.

The next is to examine the kind of friends she moves with. They may be the reason why she smokes. Help to reduce such circle of friends by being a best friend to her.

Always reward her. For each time she makes progress, reward her. Encourage her and let her see she can do more, achieve more, and be more. You can reward her by taking her out, or getting a gift for her.

See, when people are working under someone, they think it is easy, they see themselves as the saviour of the company they are working for without knowing what the owner or CEO is passing through. You were just doing the transaction aspect of the business when you were under someone. Now you are on your own, decision making is a key.

Running a business isn't easy. It is known that 80% of start ups in US do not make it through the first 5 years of existence, how much more Nigeria. You need to read more about money. I remember that upon graduation, I was called to read books on money. That's the only book we have at home. I read several books on money and I can handle a business. So get books on business, also get a mentor in that line of business. Ask him questions and see his secrets.

Every graduate both those that read medicine and law should all move to IT, so its not only physics graduates.

Why do you find joy talking trash when you know that most physics graduates are being employed in every sector in Nigeria. Go to 10 secondary schools in Nigeria, 95% of their physics teachers studied that engineering.


This was same thing we were told while in school. Today, those that read medicine, law, pharmacy, and the top courses are still looking for a good place to work. While some of us are doing great things with our life.

I will use myself as an example, I am about completing my masters degree but my fiance is an ssce holder, he had an accident when he was in 200 level in unad.what I want to bring out is this, my parents were strongly against it but I stood my ground to the end. Education is just there so that u won't feel left out when u find yourself in the midst of educated people or friends. We are coping well by God's grace and we will Tie the knot come Nov 25.

You have to associate with people from different backgrounds to know that business is another form of education. Just like in school, they are low life and unintelligent people, same with degree. I have an uncle who never went to school but everyday, he spends his time reading. Go to his library and you will realize that he is better than you with 2:1.

Education is what we all need not a degree or Ph.D. People here comparing Nigerian education to US, who told them that Nigerians are dumb Ass people. People who do not have anything to offer think that everyone is like them. When I was in school, I subscribed for opencourse wares of MIT, IIT, Stanford, and Oxford. Guess what, there is no difference to what we were thought.

You must separate education from degree. Thinking that a degree holder will reason alike with you simply because he has a paper called B.Sc is dumb and weak.
