If N200000 + 20% of her annual gross income is less than N300k, then her PAYE is 1% of her annual gross income. Then divide it by 12, I am sure that it won't reach N5 for the month

If her tax PAYE is 5k, it means that her annual income is N500000.

This implies that when we remove N200000 + 20% of N500000 =N300000. Then the balance is N200000 and you can't subject it to normal PAYE rate.

I dont know about you but what i have on my employment letter (and so many other people i know) is Gross Emolument, i have never seen Net pay on Employment contract before, it will typically read that the pay is subject to all applicable taxes.

Your Theory works for government employees. Buy let's assume it is true, let me enlighten you on how PAYE is calculated.


N200000 and 20% of her total annual salary is deducted from the her total annual salary to give what is called consolidated taxable income.

It is from there that 7% of the CTI is taken for the first N300000 of the CTI.

since her pay is low, if we remove the Consolidated Relief Allowance given by government which is N200k + 20% of her annual income. Then nothing remains.

Which in this case, her PAYE is 1% of her annual income.

In writing niche, 99% of sellers are Nigerians. So what is the other guy saying?

Hope you are not kidding. Before salary is negotiated, tax is removed. You can't tell me that my salary is 10k tax inclusive.

PAYE is always removed before telling employer their salary

Who told you that? That guy has scammed you. You just fell a victim and the next is to block your account if fiverr finds out you contacted him outside the platform. Fiverr would have protected you but then you went against fiverr ToS.

Just initiate cancellation request and save your account.

I wasn't deported, but I have guys who were deported even before this mass deportation, yet they have not experienced drop in sales. I believe once your gig is ranked, and you are well articulate, your "country of origin" doesn't do much. Especially if you have a lot of reviews already.

One would think that I would be getting a lot of orders since there are just the few of us still flying the American flag in my niche. But na lie, I still dey see 11 orders in queue for one Nigerian like that gig. And me wey be Americanah still dey find 2 orders in queue.

I saw one lady with 11 orders in queue. 9ja deported account in article writing niche. Oboy, that 11 orders in queue has been there for 5 days now even when her delivery time is less than 5 days. Guys may have bought reviews and kept the time for 1 month. Hehehehe

I placed an order for 5000 words, the guy was claiming to be US, even as a seller, I placed the order only for the guy to spin article and submit. After deportation, the guys account is showing Naija. �

When I was deported, that was five months ago, my repeat client asked me and I simply told him that I was in US for advanced studies but now back to Abuja Nigeria after the end of my program hence the change of IP and the location.

Secondly, deportation does nothing except if you aren't doing your job well. I have said it that after deportation, I started getting increase in orders. I was happy before the mass deportation because even as a Nigerian seller, my gig gets more orders than those level one US sellers.


Keep the hope Alive and hope for the best. People are making it on fiverr and you will make it too

Okay guys so I decided to be the pathfinder on GTB ATM withdrawal with Payoneer some minutes ago. Here's my experience:

My Payoneer balance was $84.47. I withdrew 19k (Max allowed for that ATM). When I checked my new Payoneer balance, it became $25.26.

Assuming $3.5 fee goes to Payoneer, 59.21 - 3.5 = 55.71. So 19k/55.71 = 341/$.

If you include the 3.5 charge, 19k/59.21 = 320/$

It is caused by phone number. if those friends are checking their location on fiverr app, let them first confirm on PC. As regards IP fluctuations, it is normal and expected, not only in Nigeria. Even in the US, most guys use different IPs. Let me ask, what happens to those that have been using various IPs for the past three years and suddenly got deported yesterday?

I am saying that I have a colleague whose account wasn't deported. I helped him open the account and he verified using a Nigerian phone number shaa.

Then withdraw your money and sell to an exchanger. Don't do this often as the option can be removed. So try to order for a card.

The phone number verification isn't the cause. I have friends who used Nigerian phone number and still wasn't deported. This was caused by a fluctuating/unstable IP location.

My colleagues are still selling with a US location and other people here on nairaland still sell with a US location.
