He is not right on this. Jesus said the only ground you can divorce your wife is based on sexual unfaithfulness.
But on cases of violence and threat to life, I feel it is also appropriate to divorce and remarry.
It all depends on how the holy Spirit leads. But the bottom line is that it is not advisable to put a spouse away just for common issues that can be resolved.

Read what I wrote above, marriage is for better, for worse.
