The North have always fantasized about oil Harlem2: |
1. After Fulani herdsmen killed hundreds in Benue, Buhari told Benue Governor to learn how to treat his neighbours with kindness. 2. Borno State governor once told the Nigerian Army not too be hard on Boko Haram that they are afterall our brothers. 3. In 2010, Buhari said an attack on Boko Haram is an attack on the North. 4. In 2016 El Rufai said he paid Fulani herdsmen that raped women and burnt villages so they can stop killing. 5. In 2017, Federal Government granted pardon and amnesty to 'repentant' Boko Haram members 6. Earlier this year, Miyetti Allah (the umbrella body of Fulani herdmen) asked FG to give them 100bn 7. Later, the FG set up a Fulani radio station for the herdsmen 8. The FG approved a 'dry port' in Kaduna, this is after they have spent billions of Naira looking for oil in the North and found nothing. 9. FG asked states to give land to Fulani herdsmen. 10. They came up with a fancy name for it RUGA, rural grazing area. Please note that after thousands of killings by the Fulani herdsmen, not a single Fulani have been arrested, charged to court or sentenced. Not a single one!!! In the past do you know what you need to take over an area either through coup or war? You need three things 1. Money (the 100bn ) 2. Good line of communication ( The radio station) 3. Ground troops stationed at strategic areas in enemy territories (RUGA) That is #Myonekobo If they need to arrest me, I live at 34 Bourdillon road, Ikoyi Lagos. |

1. Turn off your phone's back light. The back light is what makes the phone easier to read in bright light or outside. However, the light also uses battery power. If you can get by without it, your battery will last longer. If you have to use the back light, many phones will let you set the amount of time to leave the back light on. Shorten that amount of time. Usually, one or two seconds will be sufficient. Some phones have an ambient light sensor, which can turn off the back light in bright conditions and enable it in darker ones. 2. Turn it Off ! Only do this if it's going to be for several hours; turning a phone on/off actually uses a massive amount of power itself. This will probably be the most effective and simple way of conserving your battery’s power. Why? This will help conserve energy and also charge your phone. If you don't plan on answering the phone while you're sleeping or after business hours, just turn it off. Do the same if you are in an area with no reception (such as a subway or remote area, since constantly searching for service depletes the battery fairly quickly). 3. Do not follow the method of full charge and full discharge Avoid letting your cell phone's battery run all the way down. Unlike nickel-based batteries (such as the NiCd or NiMH rechargeable AA batteries seen in most supermarkets), lithium-based batteries are designed to be charged early and often, and letting them get too low can damage the battery. With lithium-based batteries, doing shallow discharges and frequent charging prolongs battery life. 4. Delete unnecessary Apps. Many of us have Applications on our phone that we don’t use and are just occupying space. Why have those Apps that run down your battery. It is safe and smarter to delete the apps and reinstall when you need them. Some Apps are not really important but you still have it on your phone!! So go through your phone, delete or disable running Apps and save your phone’s battery. 5. Engage Battery Saver Mode. The most recent flagship Android phones like Infinix latest devices include battery saver modes that can extend the life of your battery by automatically implementing many of the settings detailed above. This application is called the ultra-power saver which comes with the sleek XOS user interface.Think of it like life support for when your battery is in the ICU.

New year, one of the most celebrated holidays, is only a couple of days away. And like most holidays world over, it is a time when booze flows freely, drugs get amazingly abused and other terribly unhealthy vices get committed. The why of it? I honestly cannot tell. . Today, with hope that this article would significantly help reduce the number of hangover-related calls that DoctorsHub Nigeria will be responding to in the coming hours and days ahead, I will be tipping you on how to stay ahead of the booze and keep your game tight all day! . And just before I do that, let's quickly understand how alcohol is processed in the human body and how hangovers works. . A hangover, also medically known as veisalgia, is a group of unpleasant symptoms, mainly including headache, nausea and vomiting, weakness and dehydration, that occurs after consumption of excess alcohol beyond the limit that body can effectively handle. Naturally, humans have an inbuilt system for clearing off toxins, alcohol included. When alcohol is consumed, the liver metabolizes (breaks down) it with the help of an enzyme, alcohol dehydrogenase, to give acetaldehyde as an intermediate product which is very toxic and is quickly attacked by another enzyme, acetaldehyde dehydrogenase and glutathione, a substance containing cysteine found in the liver, to give a nontoxic acetate end product which is then excreted. This is what typically happens when only mild to moderate quantities are consumed. But trust humans to always go OTT. . So what then happens when too much shayo is consumed? . Acetaldehyde builds up in the body longer than necessary because there isn't enough glutathione to break it down to its harmless end product. After this toxic build up of acetaldehyde occurs, symptoms like headache, fatigue, nausea and vomiting, irritability, sleep disturbance, dryness of mouth/lips indicating dehydration, dizziness, rapid heartbeat, hypersentivity to light and noise, etc. Hangover patient looking depressed. There are explanations for each of those symptoms (stuffs like vasopressin suppression, glutamine rebound, etc) but because they are too unnecessarily long and boring, i would spare you the horror of having to read them. So straight to the point. HOW TO PREVENT HANGOVERS? The best and most effective way to prevent hangovers is abstinence. That's the truth. But then, I don't believe in deprivation so I am not going to issue a sacrosanct degree forbidding you from popping bottles. So guys, since abstinence won't be able to do it, go ahead and indulge yourselves.... Drink water along with the alcohol: alcohol leaves you completely dehydrated because of a phenomenon called vasopressin supression. It all happens in the brain....and the result is that you urinate much more than you drink and you get dehydrated quickly. Also during urination, you lose a lot of salts which further worsen the dehydration. Drinking a cup of water for every two bottles of alcohol popped would allow you stay hydrated. Space out your drinking: Don't drink too much in a short period of time. That is is called binge drinking and it can kill you.Take your time and space it out. Go slow and steady...this allows your liver enough time to metablize the acetaldehyde before it builds up and reaches toxic levels. Take a break once you start feeling tipsy: You don't want to drink until you fall off your seat. Moderation is the rule here. Only drink as much as your body can effectively handle. Take a break while your faculties are still intact. Usually, you would know when the alcohol starts kicking in. That is the point to take a break and go do something else. Choose your alcohol carefully: it has been discovered that certain brands of alcohol like brandy, scotch, red wine, bourbon, tequilas, etc which contain high amounts of congeners are more likely to cause hangovers than drinks such as beers, vodka, rum, white wine, etc. So you really want to pick your drink with some caution. Even with the above tips, a few people still find themselves drinking to stupor. If it ever happens that you couldn't exercise caution and prevent yourself from having a hangover, then you should at least minimise the severity of it by doing the following, Get some sleep: usually the hangover resolves after 24hours or so. You will usually wake up during the night than normal because of glutamine resistance. But each time you wake up, consciously force yourself back to sleep because your body needs some time to clear off the toxins. Take a painkiller: headache is usually common and very severe. Taking a painkiller like ibuprofen helps reduce it and make it tolerable. Eat eggs: Either fried or boiled, eggs are what you should eat in large quantities. Why? Because eggs contain a lot of the amino acid cysteine which is involved in breakdown of acetaldehyde. Simple as that. Eat bananas: because of their high content of potassium and other salts and vitamins, they help replenish the salts lost during urination. Drink enough water and juice: water primarily helps reverse the dehydration while the juice rehydrates and also provided glucose to the body for use following the severe depletion of its reserves. WHEN TO CALL A DOCTOR? Most times, the climax of every binge drinking is alcohol poisoning which is often a fatal condition. Regardless of who is involved, a doctor must be promptly contacted as soon as symptoms of alcohol poisoning are noticed in such a person. These symptoms include, Slow breathing (usually less than 10 breaths per minute) Loss of consciousness Seizures Cold bluish skin And that would be all for today, guys. Enjoy your holidays! visit www.doctorshub.com.ng for more and free health consultation. Thank you Until another time, |
FACT #1: It is perfectly normal for your nipples to discharge either milk (when you are pregnant or nursing a baby) or a clear colourless liquid when fondled or manipulated especially during love making. This therefore should not alarm you. However, you should talk to your doctor if milk is discharged when you are not pregnant or nursing a baby or have stopped nursing a baby by at least 2 weeks. This is very important because of a condition called galactorrhoea that is often caused by a brain tumor, prolactinoma. Other causes of galactorrhoea abound but prolactinomas are our greatest cause of worry. FACT #2: From the moment you start ovulating until the last day of your menstruation, it is very normal for your breasts to become engorged, heavy and even painful. This is often due to that fact that once ovulation starts, the woman's body starts preparing pregnancy in the event that a pregnancy occurs. So do not be alarmed. Don't panic. It is just normal physiology happening, it will resolve itself naturally or if the pain is too discomforting, popping two tablets of paracetamol helps provide relief. FACT #3: It is absolutely NOT normal to find lumps/masses, of any kind, in your breast(s). The normal human breast is made of breast tissue which is primarily responsible for the shape and for milk production. The breast tissue is uniform to touch. So it becomes abnormal when you palpate your breasts and find masses or lumps there. Although, most of the masses are benign, it is still an abnormal finding. Contact your doctor as soon as you discover lumps/masses in your breast(s). Diseased right breast FACT #4: The two breasts are slightly unequal in 9 out of every 10 women with the left breast often appearing larger than the right one. This called breast asymmetry and it is a normal occurrence in most women. Usually, this difference in size is not noticed until the two breasts are closely observed. NB: The breast asymmetry talked about is normal and not pathologic. However some women who have large lumps in one breast or have a breast cancer in one breast can present with noticeably asymmetric breasts. This should not be confused with the normal. FACT #5: It is normal for the breasts to lose their shape and firmness and become floppy as you age, especially after menopause. This is often due to the decrease in the reproductive hormone oestrogen after menopause. Absence of this hormone makes th skin become dry and less elastic, hence the resulting sagging. Most women who are able to afford Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) opt for it or go for plastic surgery, both of which significantly make them have fuller and firmer breasts than women who allow nature do its thing without interference. FACT #6: The mere act of gently massaging the breast can help prevent breast cancer, according to a research conducted and published in 2013. This is often referred to as Breast-Self Massage (BSM) and it works on the principle that massaging the breasts helps stimulate the growth of normal breast tissue growth, hence preventing the growth of cancerous cells. So you may want spend a few more minutes in the bath massaging your breasts each you have a bath. FACT #7: It is NOT normal for your breast(s) to discharge blood, pus or any other strangely coloured substance. In fact, if your nipples are discharging anything other than breast milk or the traditional clear, colourless liquid, contact your doctor immediately! I repeat...immediately! This could be a sign of a malignancy. Don't wait until it is too late before you discuss your symptoms with your doctor. Breast cancer is killing hundreds of thousands of women annually just because they were diagnosed late when it is virtually impossible to treat it. DON'T BE A VICTIM.
