While I admit what you narrated its true but it's hard to believe and accept when a girl comes up with the period story particular when she has been doing everything possible not wanting to have sex or procrastinating it. When it comes to having a first shot at any new relationship most men are likely to dismiss any excuse a girl bring up. It's easier to accept at any other time but not at the first go. Breaking the ice is usually the most difficult and equally most important for guys. No excuses are welcome during this time.

It is not the women's fault like you said, the status quo have positioned them to be so. Men have also adopted the status quo and have taken it upon themselves to make the first move. You know, even in cases where women are really h*rny they still come up with some excuses while they don't want to have sex at the moment. Just for the men to pamper them before succumbing. So a lot of men have come to accept a woman no-sex-talk as a mind game and that all she needs is some sweet talking.

I agree it is important we have healthy discussions about sex and address issues surrounding the sex pattern of a relationship. But I'm afraid one can hardly hold such talk on a forum like this one. A lot of the girls here won't be forthcoming as the same society have conditioned them not to open up on their sex life and how it affect them, or they might be tagged hoes. Some guys too aren't helping the issue just like one of the poster above.

Addressing issues of sex and how it can affect relationships is best left for married couples. Unmarried couples (the women) will find it hard to open up more as they're uncertain about how the relationship might turn out. It is my believe that married couple should be able to have an insightful discuss about their sex life, this will help them understand themselves better and can easily discern when either of them is not truly in the mood.

To be quite frankly, I ask for proof too when I want to have a go for the first time with someone and they come up with excuses. The most common is the period thing and on two occasions it was proven to be a barefaced lie. You just can not trust some babes.

I don't think it's wise for a husband to demand for proof. A married man should be able to know when the wife is telling the truth and when she's lying about sex, except of course they have trust issues. This trust issue could propelled a man to thinking that the wife is seeing someone else and getting it elsewhere. There are a lot compromise in marriage and I want to believe sex is one of them. One may not be in the mood but they just have to understand that when you love someone their well-being and satisfaction becomes their responsibility. If couples are to have sex only when the both of them are h*rny then their sex life might become boring as the chances aren't favourable.

Sure men get tired of sex. But the problem is that most women wouldn't agree. Women expect men to always fxck them whenever they are in the mood without minding if a man is in the mood. So it shouldn't be a problem when the reverse is the case. Or should it?

Some times one just have to understand why a lot of these girls doesn't open up much when it comes to sex and issues relating to it. Whenever they do or try to be real you see some guys who are bereft of common sense comes up with st*pid questions and remarks. Imagine one of the above poster asking someone how old is she to have a boyfriend. How dumb can people really be. The resultant effect of such remarks is what makes a lot of girls keep to themselves and hardly opens up when it comes to questions like the one asked by the OP. Same guys will throw all kinds of invectives at them tomorrow calling them hypocrites. It's annoying really.

Women could get tired of sex, they may not. But they have a choice to stand their ground and reject sexual advances from their man if they aren't in the mood. Naturally, women are conservative when it comes to being the first to making sex moves and expressing their emotions as compared to men. Men are more open. This is the reason why men make the first sex move, coz they know women will hardly come for it, even if they want it. How then can a man not ask for sex when he's not a soothsayer to know if his woman needs one?. Sometime we just do it to please women. Not that we like it.

I personally can’t marry someone have not had sex with. In as much as every religious book against this, yet you will all agree with me that sex is one of the main reasons why God initiated marriage. Apostle Paul even made us to understand categorically that But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. 3 The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. 4 For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. 5 Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, (ESV) 1 Cor 7 vs2-5”. So we can say Apostle Paul encouraged marriage mainly because of sex. With all these emphasis on sex, how bad will it now be if one now eventually ends up with someone he/she doesn’t enjoy sex with? For instance, if the guy is of high libido who likes sex a lot while the woman is of low libido who does not like sex that much, how will the marriage be like since they are not compatible sexually? Don’t forget you are not allow to have side sex mate unless you want to be a cheat in the marriage which could eventually lead to crashing of the marriage.
What about the cases of guy being impotent and the wife only finds out on the night of marriage. If they had made attempts to sex before that night, the wife would have found out, either they both find solution to it or the lady leaves before it’s too late. We have heard cases of the wife not having opening, how will the guy find out if no attempts to go down there before wedding night?
Another case is issue of the lady not having womb to conceive. Sex before marriage could alert the guy may be the lady will be able to conceive or not.
So nairalanders, what is your personal view about sex before marriage? No offence, no need to abuse anybody, just let us see your own view.
