RomanceRe: Multiple Dating.....Gud or Bad by MrsChima1(f): 2:44pm On Sep 14, 2012
I do not regret having multiple dates because I was able to see what is out there and select my potential long term partner CAREFULLY without contaminating myself sexually. I do not believe in exclusive "dating" and I did not play house until I got married.

Different strokes for different folks.
RomanceRe: Multiple Dating.....Gud or Bad by MrsChima1(f): 2:41pm On Sep 14, 2012
Multiple dating has NOTHING to do with sex. There are people who had multiple dates and DID NOT SLEEP WITH THEM.

Again...dating is NOT a sexual relationship. Intimate encounter IS a sexual relationship....let not confuse the two.

The cure for divorce is possible if two MATURE people enter the marriage for the right reasons and stick to their vows.

its hard. we have a baby, we r from different culture, we have different religion. i try to be in the contact with him nd not cut the connections btw my daughter nd her father nd african family. its really hard but thank God his family is helpin me too much smiley
That's good that his family is involved with your daughter. Many African families have no knowledge of their kinfolk in other countries simply because the male/female not keeping in contact nor share the information with the family.

It is important for the child to have both families in their life especially if they have two parents.

but my ex husband usually told me such insultes after some accident with white racist, mostly with ukraine or russian ppl angry
Racism is hate/dislike/insult of a specific person, group, or groups. I want to add that people in mixed relationships can be racist if their intention is dubious and malicious toward a specific group or groups. Just like a Black person calling you a cracker or a honky and you calling a Black person a nigga or King Kong is not racist...but racial slurs.

I call my uncle's girlfriend a cracker all the time and she calls me a Black dick lover...we are cool. I don't hate her and she doesn't hate me. We both exchanges racial slurs but not racist comments.

Racist comments would be things such as what the people at the park did to your child. Move away from that half breed biatch...now that is a racist comment.

A racist is a person who hate/dislike/insult a specific person, group, or groups. Even when we have preferences of a specific group or groups...we are racist. Because we insult others by not giving them an opportunity to prove to us that they too deserve our love/like.
I won't deny racism exists, but sometimes, we can be too conscious of any odd behaviour from someone of another race and term it racist...

In schools in Nigeria, you get called different names based on your looks, and for once, you never branded your mates 'racist', i guess?

I get called black shadow because I so dark...lol

My friend gets called yellow Pawpaw because he is light-skinned.... This is black on black people at it......

Don't get me wrong, I'm not justifying racism, but sometimes, ethnic minorities can be overly sensitive that you begin to ask.........'don't blacks use derogatory remarks on other blacks?

Black people dat call Obasanjo a monkey, would they be angrier if white people did call Obasanjo a monkey?

I hardly get angry when I witness racism from white people, because we still have a lot of work to do as black people.... We first need to eliminate the tribal hate we have for each other.

If black people are very much guilty of hate amongst each other, why should we expect other races to be any different in their capacity to hate?

@ Op, I wont share any racism experience because it's like you asking me to share the experience I had with a stupidd person

Sybellah: I haven't experienced much ever, but most of the time i found it stupid and amusing
-once i was in visit to Bordeaux with my friends, we took the bus there was this white chick who was sitting on a chair and put her (single)handbag on the sit beside her, i asked her kindly to remove her thing so i could sit she got so pissed off lol took her bag and decided to stand up, so i told my friend to take her sit and we were looking and laughing at her while she was standing all confused and pissed off.

-in paris my friend and hi got into an argument with some old lady, cuz we had big suitcases and the bus was so crowded we didn't know what to do, we couldn't leave em on the hall way cuz it was quasi impossible to circulate, so we superposed the suitcases on a chair beside us so pple would circulate easily. That white women start talking nonsense with a low voice to others she was standing with, and when we heard we told her to say it to our face and that she was full of bull. We could have ignore her but the hypocrisy and foutaise of french pple is beyond irritating sometimes so we couldn't keep it inside.

-I had a white girl-friend few years ago she was introducing me to her friend who was also white, right after shaking hands i surprised her eyeballing me and swiping her hand on her clothes, so i looked at her and did the same thing, and smile back lol. A similar thing happened at church too but this time with a latino familly who had a son as dark as myself, quite unbelievable. There were standing on the row just in front of me. At "la paix du christ" part they shook hands with everybody and when they came to my level they just waved lool, so i almost burst of laugh and said low " i guess u screamed horror whenever u gave birth to your son" lool she heard and gave me a very mean look back. I ll never understand people who go to church and still practice racism inside, it's pathetic.
Child...even the devil and demons are in church. Those weren't children of God and wolves do wear sheep clothing. We have to look at this type of thing as the demons are working full time and God isn't an author of confusion. wink

CrazyMan: Africans, Nigeria to be more specific are more racists than whites.

Imagine in Nigeria, a family would threaten to disown their daughter if she marries someone outside her tribe.

Media questions are asked frequently if you can marry someone whose not from your tribe. Even here on Nairaland, hundreds of topics have been created in such regard...but if a white man asks such question, we'll scream racisim. (hypocrites)

A man works for 10 years without promotion simply because he and the boss don't share similar ethnic background.

A former governor of imo state publicly announces that the ghosts jobs he's offering is strictly for imo indegins. As if other Nigerians are worthless to him.

That most Nigerians prefer to vote in corrupt leaders from their tribe than good leaders from other tribes.

That you can't hold any state government office anywhere in the country regardless of how productive you are - apart from your home state.

That admissions into higher institutions these days are strictly for indigens...other visitors as seen as excess cargo.

That tribes now are calling for their own president (eg Igbo president 2015) aren't we all Nigerians? Can't we elect one qualified leader to rule us?

That even here on Nairaland we keep attacking each other's opinions regardless of how reasonable it sounds...simply because he or she isn't from our tribe.

That most Nairalanders are quick to judge law offenders that have different ethnic background with us and defend the ones from our tribes (eg Igbo man caught with cocaine...yorubas would course them and the Igbos would fault the report)

...Yoruba man sleeps with daughter...Igbos would curse them also and yorubas would claim the story is a folly)

If you ask me, I'd say Nigerians are the worst racists in the world.

They should solve the problem of tribalism here before accusing the white man of racism...charity they say, begins at home.
Ooooooooh I like it when you talk dirty boo boo. kiss kiss kiss kiss Yet many Nigerians have swore up and down that racism do not exist in Nigeria....tribalism is racism. grin grin grin grin

MamaDiallo: I have lot of such experiences. The last one: I went in the city with my nigerian friend nd some stupid white man said "Look, u white wh*re, our men r nt enough good for u nd thats why u f*ck black monkeys, u b*tch!"
Nd i hear such bullsh*ts everytime. i dnt mind. but what made me mad, when one girl said my mixed baby is ugly black monkey, i was about to kill her. or when i take my daughter on the playground nd white mothers tell their kids to not play with my child! angry r we really in the 21st century? shocked
Now that is racist. Not everyone will get along but at least show respect/tolerance for people's decisions.

You just confirmed what I said...even people in mixed relationships can be racist. I understand that you took it as racist by calling you a White biatch but the world "biatch" isn't racist. He didn't use a slur and you are White right? He degraded you by calling you a biatch especially when you are his wife.

BelaMorena: I can only imagine how it was for the first Africans brought to the new world in chains.

Stories of them inspecting their privates, touching their hair, measuring their noses, and licking the sweat off of their bodies no longer surprise me.

It's the same sh*t 500 years later. undecided

yeah it happens but they tend to stare at my a*s.
It doesn't matter if I am at a local drug store or supermarket checkout waiting in line, walking or bending to pick up something...they always look. I usually laugh but it gets to be annoying. I would suddenly look in their direction and WITHOUT FAIL, they are looking.

They stare at my hair whenever I am wearing braids though as if trying to find out how it was done.

As far as racism, I have never had the exprience of being called a slur in person however elderly and middle aged whites and asians do act a way to me from time to time.

Lol. It doesn't matter though because I treat them the EXACT same way they treat me. When I was in middle school I used to intern at different establishments during the summer, and on weekends throughout the school year I used to volunteer at a local farm that sells ice cream. Whites and Asian would put the money down on the counter instead of putting it in my hand...

you know what I would do? Place their change AND the receipt BACK on the same counter and instead of saying "have a good day"...I'd dismiss them with a "I can take the next person". LMAO. Their expressions were always priceless!

I still don't play that. I don't accept disrespect from anyone.

grin grin
That post just prove my point no matter what people on this site and offline say...racism is still alive. People want to make it seems though that everything is peachy just because America have a "mixed" president and some African presidents have White wives that racism, discrimination, and prejudice is dead.

MyzMar65: i'm new here and i'm a white American...i have many Nigerian friends online and many black friends in general...i'm not racist; i'm not prejudiced...but, as a white woman who prefers black men, I have encountered many people who are not acceptable of my black friends, nor of interracial couples...the majority of those against my black friends are white people; however, I have found an extraordinary number of black females who hate the idea of a black man with a white woman...as I say, "to each his own", but EVERYBODY (white, black, green, yellow, red, purple, orange, etc.) should respect EVERYBODY'S choices; whether they agree or not.........
JUST LOVE WHO YOUR HEART TELLS YOU TO LOVE........don't try to change to conform to someone else's wants, beliefs, or opinions,
You contradicted yourself. First you say that you prefers Black men then after a long mumble...stated that just love who your heart tells you to love.

Some people say that you can't control who you love and your heart wants what it wants.....but how can that be true when even you said that you prefers as in choose Black men?

If we are going to follow your motto...JUST LOVE WHO YOUR HEART TELLS YOU TO LOVE..then we shouldn't choose/prefer a specific race or gender. Just keep it real and say that you wish people would respect and accept your choice/preference in Black men. Simple.

Now don't get it twisted when you said Black women have issues with White women dating Black men....White women have issues with non-Whites dating Whites, Asians have issues with non-Asians dating Asians, Arabs have issues with non-Arabs dating Arabs. You sound a bit racist yourself while you pointing fingers doing the same thing you accused others of being racist.

As long as you live and after you die...people will still have issues with interracial dating and marriage....it is not your job to convince others to accept what you believe in. It is your job to live your life and hang around those who share the same views as you.

You took it personal that some Black women you know have issues with you dating Black men....why do you care if it is genuine?

It's funny when you close up on any lady while walking along the road, they clutch their bags tightly and look at you warily.
Not to mention whenever I'm seated on a bus, white people rarely sit beside me even when the only available seat is beside me, they'd prefer to stand.
In the family section...there was a thread about a White American married to a Nigerian man and some chatters made statements that her story will change racism/discrimination.

I responded that no matter how many non-Blacks marry Blacks...it will not change racism/discrimination. Since 1900's non-Blacks and Blacks had sexual/romantic relationships and to this day (2012) racism/discrimination is still stronger than ever. The problem is that people are trying to enforce unity on a bunch of spoiled apples. Unity is like restoration...how can you restore something that is dead? Only the holy spirit can change such person...but those who are into unity must focus on making sure they are leading by example by walking the talk...not just talking.

Even those who are in mixed relationships are racists. Shocking but it is the true. We have to be true to our intentions before we expect others to share our opinions of unity.

It is apparent those people that wouldn't sit by you are still having issues or they just wanted to stand.

Sybellah: Black are more racist with their fellow black, and i have yet to understand. In their own country they ll treat whites/asians/arabs/indians better than their fellow africans. Many of us African need to heal from this inferiority complex we have. For example once i was with friends (2 Ghana guys and one Naija), and I was askin the ghanaians to show me some twi, so they were showin expression and I was repeating after them. lol The naija guy was perplexed askin me why would I wanna learn this bull** and he wasn't joking. So i asked why is it good for me to learn english and not a fellow african language? i love languages so i try to learn as much as I can. Africans in general think their culture is better than other african cultures (tribalism) but many bow down before non-africans.
Now that is true. It is hatred of self...when one hate themselves...they project it unto those that looks like them.

It is the hard fact that many refuse to accept.
If you are working for the ancestors then this shouldn't be a problem for you. Most Igbo ancestors wouldn't mind if their children that were kidnapped and sold came back thus you are actually fighting against them, not working for them. Since most of the AA's claiming Igbo heritage are doing so based on information from their own ancestors. Do you see the paradox: You claim to be working for the ancestors, their ancestors are "supposedly" Igbo thus you fighting against their claim is naturally fighting against the people you so claim to be working for.

Personally I understand why you are bent over it. You do not like anything biracial, multi-racial or not pure african thus this to you feels like a problem. Other factor is probably because it is about African-Americans and what I've seen on NL, I don't know why but Nigerians and other Africans seem to have a problem with Africans-Americans (at least on this forum). Though I understand why you are fighting (i.e: based on your own ideology), I say accept it in peace if the two parties in question have no problem with it.
That's the thing...there is no such thing as pure "race" or "ethnicity". In fact...he is not pure anything so why is he fighting against the likes of himself? It is a strange paranoia and delusion.

The claiming has zero effect to you or your community so if they so wish to hold and upheld their Igbo heritage while the ethnicity that are claiming has no problem with it, then it should be respected. Leave it alone dude.
That's a very good question. Maybe jealousy? Ignorant? Both?
