boldinc: That would not cause any problems. I did same. EE profile had all the work experience, but I took them out after ITA... Moved them to personal history. I would have still been tryna get some work reference by now.
cc: MRSDA I've been MIA. Thanks so much for this. I moved them to personal history now. For hubby, he has a job i want to move since he can't get reference and it's an old job anyway...i wish I submitted already. I don tire for all the preparation |

eyoiba: Glory be to God, I got my ielts result yesterday and it out as LRSW 8.5,7.5,7,7. It was my first attempt and I prepared for about 5 months. I could have written the exams earlier but I knew I had brush up some areas where I was weak. I learnt every single thing about the exams on this forum.
I knew I could not afford to fail because that means I would need to pay 68k + 4k (for courier) again, travel to and from my base to Ibadan twice and Lodge in hotel twice so I started reading the posts of those who passed to learn what they did and more importantly, those who failed and learn from their pitfalls (no offence intended).
I felt like registering in May but deep inside me I knew I was not yet ready as my listening was still weak. I intensified efforts by downloading over 50 YouTube listening tests, downloaded Cambridge books 1-12. Diagrams in listening was another headache for me so I downloaded about 25 mainly diagram tests from YouTube. For reading, I started with Cambridge books but someone mentioned ielts buddy and I decided to give it a trial and it was a life-saver for me because it was there I first learnt the trick that I don't need to understand all parts but to pick answers from the passages (please ensure that you understand this concept well before adopting it, I can't explain everything here). For speaking, I downloaded about 20 band 8 speaking videos from YouTube and I also used ieltsallears anchored by 2 funny ladies ( just use google)
However, I neglected writing. Though I practiced writing some letters and essays, I did not take time to practice enough and learn the format for each type of letter and essay.
Let me state at this point that I am not that good at English I am just average at the language but I knew that if my immigration dream will ever come true I had to cross the ielts bridge and I put my mind at it. I learnt every single thing I know about the test from this place.
On the test day, I was one of the 1st sets of candidates to get to exams venue at 6:00am and with sanitation exercise in place I didn't want to take any chances. My writing was a mess because I had to cross several parts in the essay part and some grammatical errors eg sensor instead of censor. Please endeavor to use pencil in your writing as it makes your job neater.
In conclusion, I prayed and committed the test in Gods hand. in my mind I thought I would fail the writing test but God did it for me.
God that did it for me will give everyone preparing for the test enviable result.
Part 2 Please my Executive MBA transcript has been hanging at OAU for about 3 months now. I would appreciate any link please. it has been giving me head ache. Kindly help a brother out. I was in OAU and my husband and I got our transcripts with the help of some guy, he charged us money (not too much in my opinion) so if you need help, you can send me a PM so i can send you his link. Ours took a while because he said we graduated a good while ago (15 years) and it was my first request. |

40manlappy: Tick "No" and put her work experience in the "Personal History" section. Her work experience neither adds nor subtract from you since it is not Canadian work experience.
However, you may wish to note that fact in your LOE i.e. that you filled work history in your EE profile but you have filled "No" post-ITA because it is not Canadian work experience. All the best bro! Wait o, in the situation that you have earlier answered Yes to work experience and now take them out to appear in personal history, is this an issue? Please nobody should get angry with me o! |

chuckdee13: In my opinion adding more things that require verification (when they're not necessary) will only prolong your application. At least you know you have all that experience doesnt matter if they do too. The goal is to get PPR as quick as possible without delaying it when the delay could have been avoided. Ok then...i should just send everything to personal history and sidon dey look |

If i have worked almost 14 years and finding it hard to prove any, isn't that a shame? It's probably just self validation. I have taken out all other work experiences but since i have business registration certificate, i thought i could just add that one experience. *covers face and runs away* |

bigfido: For the dude that passed the ielts that is complaining bitterly, please be thankful to God.
I have written ielts 7 times. My journey started since 2015. My Wes has been ready since then, but because of age and ielts, I have been falling short. I wrote ielts and got moderate score. I didn't know what was required then, since then, it has been a battle for me. My last 3 scores were 8,7.5,7,6... 7.5,7.5,7.5,7... 7.5,8,7,7..after the 6th one in June, I swore I was done with this dream. I had sunk so much money into this. I have gone to dubai to write celpip, went to dubai again for new brunswick info session, spent money 2ice on SINP and all to no avail. I was frustrated and devastated. July, I told my spouse to let me try ielts one more time. Even thou she didn't want to see me hurt again, she let me have my way. As for her she was done. She wanted the dream closed and buried. I don't blame her. So I paid and decided to change venue, this time I went to Ibadan, meaning I was spending more again. Then something changed. I prayed a lot about it. For catholics amongst us, please pray the prayers for exams to St Joseph of Cupertino. I went into the hall, did my best and left. I couldn't even beat my chest about my performance. I have been humbled by Ielts. But I kept on praying. I am not going to fail the 7th time. In between that time, a stranger in Lere2017 on this platform came into my life. She needed something from me. I actually wasn't in the mood to talk to her (reply her pm) but I did. We got talking and I told her my story. She was touched and she also truly prayed for me seriously. She will send me messages almost everyday telling me how much I was in her prayers and letting me know all is well. Yesterday midnight was the most awkward time of my life.. From 12 am till 7 am this morning, I was refreshing ielts website to check my result. The fear and panic was too intense. When I didn't see anything, I decided to go to their office to pick up my result.. That drive was filled with swallowing stone like saliva. On the bridge, I decided to refresh it again.. My result was there. My soul left my body and my eyes became blurry. I didn't know what I was reading but I knew I was reading.. L-9, R-8,S-8,W-7
I felt water swell up in my eyes. I understood what it is to look for something within your grasp and yet not have it. I am still basking in this euphoria so I can't real explain my ordeals. So please if you have it on a platter of gold, don't come here to rub it in on people that are going through a lot of even have a slice of what you have. For me the journey starts soon. I now have 450 points. I pray we all get to the promise land. Thank you @lere2017 I appreciate you. That's the beauty of this thread. Goodluck to everyone. I apologise for the long post and misspellings Thank God you succeeded eventually. Have you received ITA? |

cochtrane: This is another evidence they are just doing their own thing. You don't graduate tops in English Lit and then get a 7. Good thing you met the requirement. Hear hear! Well I am an accompanying spouse. My husband had 8 in writing :-) so that was also good. Meanwhile please can you help me with the self employment job proof? I just need a sample letter that someone has gotten from their client. |

cochtrane: You definitely should ask for a remark. Something is wrong with IELTS in Nigeria.
MY results:
Reading - 9.0 Listening - 9.0 Writing - 7.5 Speaking - 7.5
I would have contested this result, cos it's just completely way off. Were it not sufficient for CIC, I most definitely would have contested it. I know how well I write. I should have a 9 in that writing. I wrote TOEFL and got 30/30 in writing the two times I wrote it. For speaking, my score should be higher than 7.5. I had a small encounter with the examiner that day, so maybe that affected it. Still, I don't understand why an examiner should mix sentiments with assessment.
I'm completely gutted, I swear. Something is wrong with IELTS in Nigeria. It's either they get the sense everyone is doing this for immigration purposes and so try to frustrate their efforts, or they have examiners who are inadequate in their competence.
Nonsense! I wonder what it is with the writing. I scored, 9, 8, 8.5 and then 7 in writing. I graduated top of my class in English literature and I know I write very well. I didn't even know it was possible to contest but thankfully it was OK to apply so I didn't bother my head about it. |

Thanks for this. I have employment letters. The one i dont have an employment letter for, i will move to personal history. Tax clearance certificate for my business? How will that work? |

closetextrovert: Hello MRSDA,
The work history that you cant provide letter of reference for, its best to move it to your personal history.
As for your business these are the documents necessary;
1: CAC incorporation certificate.
2. Tax Clearance Certificate
These two documents prove that its an existing and functioning business
Then to prove your experience in order to justify the NOC you chose, you will need the following documents as suggested by someone with similar situation a few pages back;
1. A letter from one of your client who can attest to the fact that you perform the functions contained in your NOC.
2. In addition to the above, an invoice issued to the client and probably other clients
3. Statement of account to show proof that those transactions were carried out and completed.
These are the few i remember the person listed. It'll be best you go a couple of pages back to check out the post. If i get the link i'll post it here for you.
Cheers and all the best. Ahhh although I'm not the principal applicant? This Canada something is tiring jo. Thanks for the response |

MRSDA: I put all my work experiences in Work history when filling the EE form, they are asking for references, I am an entrepreneur and I have been for 6 years, for that I suppose my Business Name Certificate will suffice.
Other jobs, I can't get references as two are now closed and one has changed names 3ce and new management and stuff, will employment letters only work? This isn't adding to our points, since I am not primary abi is it principal applicant? Good morning blessed people. Please anyone able to help me out with This? |

olyveoyl: The best way around this is to do a fixed deposit on the bulk of your "pof" and let an insignificant amount sit in your normal accounts (salary); meaning your will submit your FD investment certificate and (salary) statement of account. On the the whole be sure to do a letter of explanation (which doubles as cover letter to explain the salient issues in your application and especially the pof).If the credit facility you talked about is negligible and being serviced periodically, then it wouldn't be an issue, just let it lie. Seen...thank you. Will just copy these messages and paste to the hubs...but fixed deposit now that we are almost done with our forms? |

Wura27: Hello,
Someone wrote something about statement not being necessary about a week ago. If you guys can transfer to the GT account and get a letter in the exact format required by CIC then I don't think you would be needing a statement showing your account history. Thank you so much @Wura27. So I guess we are good then! Yippee Canada application is turning me into an insomniac....night time when everyone is asleep is when I find it easy to compile docs, otherwise, the children are in the way..haha |
