freeradical: What a glorious CRS cut off score. I spent close to 6months on 433 with my first EE profile searching for ITA but it wouldn't come
Congratulations to all our new ITA holders, yimiton, dammiehar, XX01, et al. I know you guys expect to get speedy processing of your eAPR to PPR and so I've decided to help you with a few advice from my own experience. My timeline from AOR to PPR is just 46days which is quite impressive and something I'd wish for you guys to replicate. Now my advice to you goes as follows. Brace up its gonna be a long read
1. Getting ITA is a big deal but it's not so much of a big deal if u don't package your application well and it gets rejected. So use only 24 hours to celebrate dis ITA after which you have to settle down, snap out of the euphoria(you are not in Canada yet ) and focus on submitting your eAPR without making any costly error that may mar your chances.
2. Even though we know that ultimately d divine controls the speed of every application yet you must do your utmost best in packaging your application carefully. As much as you can, get the documents in d format specified by CIC. Start now to disturb your bankers for the reference letters and your employers for the work reference letter. From my experience, you save d VO time and make their work easier when you submit documents in the recommended CIC format and they reward that with a fast processing.
3. PCCs are very vital and you should know by now what PCCs you need to provide. To be on the safe side any country you have spent a cumulative period of 3-4 months from when you were born till now just start now to process your PCC from them. VOs r very unforgiving with PCCs and sometimes they interprete the laws around PCCs in ways we can't truly understand. If you are like me that have never enter international flight before (I.e no travel history) then u are safe but for all the ajalas in the house, the chicken has come home to roost
4. Do not be in a hurry to get AOR, thereby rushing to submit. Take your time to ensure that you include every document in your checklist and in the right file format. Always cross check that your uploads are still intact even at the point of submission. It's not really by AOR but by how fast you move from AOR to PPR. Some July AOR peeps are already with PPR while we still got some April AORs languishing in IP1. So don't let the race to get AOR get to you.
5. Avoid ADRs. If it means waiting till the final week of your 90precious days it's safer to wait it out and submit your application with that document you know will be requested. ADRs have a way of unnecessarily delaying the movement of your file. The best time to send CIC documents is before AOR so be proactive enough to prevent anything that will make then ask after. For example if you know you have been refused visa to some country, nothing stops u from filling a schedule A form proactively even before it is asked.
6. Use your LOE very well. The LOE is a powerful weapon that you must use very well to your favour. If you do an unbiased self assessment of your application, you will note the areas where your application appears to be weak. It's almost likely that the VO will come to this same conclusion as you. That's where a good LOE does wonders. You can use your LOE to politely explain and provide further detail to the VO. What u r actually doing is subtly allaying his doubts about this weak part of your application. This helps the guy to make a favorable decision on your case. The trick to writing a good LOE is being honest, polite and MOST IMPORTANTLY attaching a document to buttress your point or as evidence. Also you can write as many LOEs and attached documents to each even though there is one placeholder for LOE. That's where your PDF merger comes in. Merge all the LOEs into one single file and attach.
7. Raising CSEs is a bad, bad thing!Avoid anything that will also make you to start disturbing your application midway after AOR by having to raise a CSE. Examples are getting married, adding a baby etc. Though most times these stuffs are beyond our control but as much as you can try to avoid entering such situations because it will delay your application. If you know you want to marry that man/woman then make the decision and get married already even before you secure ITA. I've seen some people's application getting delayed because they have to include spouse. If you r expecting a baby and your due date is before the 90days post ITA period, its best you wait for the child and include him before AOR. This exactly was my case. I had ITA Apr 12th and my wife's EDD was May 12th. I decided to wait for the baby. I made every arrangements for his passport with the immigration agent( the guy thought I was crazy trying to do passport for a child yet unborn ), but alas baby came early on May 5th. My son got his passport May 12th or so and we got AOR June 19th. So my point is as much as we can control these events let's try our best.
8. Finally just keep praying as though everything depends on your prayers but not your work and try not to be overly anxious. Who anxiety EPP sef.
I wish you guys a smooth PPR journey from here on. Very helpful, thank you. So are you saying if i have travelled to the UK for 2 weeks at different times, over a period of 10 years, then I need a police certificate from the UK? |

MRSDA: I am no expert but Determine your eligibility by checking your CRS score, you will need to write IELTS (test of English exam) at British council, you will need to have a good score. You need to also have your certificates evaluated by WES (or another body that i don't know the name). The highest qualification is what you should evaluate. Once your certificates have been evaluated, then you can get in the pool by submitting your profile, then wait for a draw. You might get an offer to apply to a province for a nomination, which you can choose to do (or not). I don't know if it is good to apply for a nomination or not (JJC). We got invited by Ontario to arrive but while we were getting our documents together for that, we got our ITA so there was no need anymore. If you go through, the thread from beginning (i wasn't able to read everything), you will find a lot of useful information. All the best. I meant we got invited by Ontario to apply for nomination, but we did not.. |

Hello house, please I need your help re proof of funds. My husband and I are both very entrepreneurial although he has a paid job. This means money is always going in and coming out and we also use credit facility. He has a salary account that has regular inflow from his salary but we also have a credit card tied to that account so somehow, the account never balance. There is also a loan on the account. We can put the amount we need to show into it right now but it won't cancel all the credit on it. On the other hand, he has a GT account that used to be his salary account but it has not seen a lot of credit recently. To my real question, if we put the cash we have into the GT account and then get the statement, will that fly? We've been racking our brain on this....help us o, e jo . We have the money but won't it be suspicious that we are putting in bulk money all of a sudden? |

dupyshoo: I understand you very well but I still believe we have a role to play as parents in teaching our kids good Nigeria culture.
Let me cite an example, I met a 6 year old girl in a party last week. She had never been to Naija before but she was speaking Igbo fluently and she was so proud of it. I felt so ashamed of myself cos my son cannot speak Yoruba at all. We are so quick at embracing western culture and we forget our own culture. We all want our kids to speak English with their accents. We make fun of people with Nigerian accent, whereas, English people have numerous funny accents themselves. You need to hear the terrible English ("You was" for example) a lot of them speak here despite the fact that that is all what they know how to speak.
There are loads of examples that I can give but I don't want to derail this thread. So let's stick to discussions on how to get Canada PPR.
Sorry to butt in. I hear you on this @dupyshoo. Even in lagos, a lot of children cannot speak their language or even understand. My children understand yoruba, my next goal is to get them to speak fluently. I intend to make them understand that they have roots and somehow, hopefully, will teach them Nigerian ways. So back to PPR issue |

MRSDA: Thank you so much. He has over 15 years experience and this was his very first job which dates back to 2003/2004 so really not adding anything. Hubby is adamant though as he thinks it will tamper with the application....sigh. How do i prove to him that it will not? That was a rhetorical question though. |

Dammiehar: The primary applicant gets maximum points for 3 years experience, if your husband has 3 years experience from another job, he should remove this particular experience from work history and let it go to personal history, he won't have to provide any reference for that. However, if he is claiming points for this job and cannot provide a refenrece letter, he will need to find other means to prove this job. He can look for his manager/ HR personnel/GM, anyone that can confirm that he worked at that company and performed the job duties, this person will write the reference letter, provide all the needed information, and his/her own contact details and it can also be notarized. Your husband will then need to provide evidence like salary account statements, payslips, tax documents, employment letter and any other proof he has. That should be sufficient. Thank you so much. He has over 15 years experience and this was his very first job which dates back to 2003/2004 so really not adding anything. Hubby is adamant though as he thinks it will tamper with the application....sigh. How do i prove to him that it will not? |

ugoiyke79e: If u are the principal applicant and d job is outside Canada(meaning u didnt claim points for it) , then yea....u can move it to his personal Hx so d placeholder for it will disappear......he could also upload an LOE in its stead.
For d PCC, most people uploaded both while some people didnt and still got their ppr Thank you. No he is the primary applicant |

Good evening house. I have a job listed for my hubby that we cannot get reference for, is it ok to delete from employment and just leave under personal history? Hubby thinks we should leave as it is and he will only write a letter of explanation in the place of the reference letter.
Also for police certificate, are we meant to scan all the pages including the thumb printed part? Just got that done today....now almost done with collating documents...ahhhhh LOL |

closetextrovert: Newspaper publication alone doesnt suffice. You will need to attach an affidavit of change of name. Infact, you need that affidavit before your change of name can be published in some newspapers Oh really? how about marriage certificate with the newspaper publication? |
Travel › Re: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by MRSDA: 6:16pm On Aug 07, 2017 |
Learning a lot from this forum. So does this mean newspaper publication alone is not enough? Please help as this is what I have put in the application though yet to submit. I need to hurry. It's one month already that we got ITA closetextrovert: Hi Calfy, you will need an affidavit of change of name and that alone will suffice. But for your own peace of mind you can include the newspaper publication and marriage certificate. |

Please does the reference letter need to be addressed to this address or can one just write TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN? Thank you Feygbe: You can address it to
Central Intake Office (CIO), Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. |

Thank you for the response. Please what do you mean to recalculate my score? bbaby84: That's what I did. The first role was just a year so I moved it to PH. Just remember to calculate your scores if you still score 67 or more . You're good to go. You can add it to your LOE though I forgot to do that. Good luck. |

MRSDA: Hello everyone, please I'm new here. Been trying to follow the thread. I need some help with my application. We received our ITA July and been trying to finish profile. My husband is the main applicant but I am filling the profile on our behalf. While I was creating his profile, i created one of his job experiences as two different ones because he had two roles in the company. Now, they've asked for references for both jobs. He will only get one letter of refernce which will state the different positions, is it ok to use this letter for both jobs? Also, i added his first job for which he never reallt got a letter of appointment and he is not able to get a reference letter from this company. He has over 10 years experience so this doesn't really affect his score in any way. What do you advise we do? Should he just write a letter of explanation for This? Please help me out. Can I edit the profile by taking out the job since there is a modify button? |
