Some good news for Coogar?
May 31 (Telegraph) -- Swansea City’s week goes from bad to worse with Hoffenheim claiming today that Icelandic midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has not signed for the Premier League side.
A Swansea City statement earlier this week said the club was delighted to have agreed terms with the player and club following Sigurdsson's hugely successful loan spell last season.
It was believed the 22-year-old would be joining the Swans’ for a fee of £6.8million subject to a medical.
However, on the day that Brendan Rodgers is due to complete his move to Liverpool, the Bundesliga club has reacted angrily to the initial story coming out of south Wales, claiming that contracts have not been signed.
They told Telegraph Sport that Sigurdsson remains a Hoffenheim player and is due back in pre-season training next month.
Communications manager Holger Tromp said: “Gylfi is a player with a regular contract in Hoffenheim and we expect him to be back in training on June 18th.

I know what you're saying but my point is, it still works for him as SAF prefers having more bodies in the box for the wingers. Its only an issue because our central midfield is so weak.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 3:37pm On May 30, 2012
I think we've actually shown that it can still work and can still be very effective for us. Unfortunately our weak midfield is one of the things that exposes our in a 442. If we had a stronger midfield and still played 442, people wouldn't put this much emphasis on formations.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 8:17am On May 30, 2012
I think at the highest level SAF knows 442 isnt always going to work. its easier to steamroll weaker teams with 442 but not against the stronger teams. I think the added freshness, tactical flexibility and depth will always be needed as well and having the likes Kagawa would certainly aid that.

I knew there was zero chance Hazard was going to join man utd. Now way SAF would let him play out this cock teasing shambles.

I want Javi Martinez and we're seemly seriously interested in Kagawa who I would be happy with.

Im undecided about the striker we need to go for.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 11:10pm On May 25, 2012
At the same time, You wouldn't expect us to be shopping in Waitrose any more as we simply cannot afford to compete financially against City or Chelsea.

Also, Fergie was admitted in hospital last week for a night due to a nose bleed.

David Whelan ( Wigan Chairman) has been opening his big mouth about everything possible and claims this coming season will be SAF's last.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 10:55pm On May 25, 2012
I think at the highest level our attack is still not good enough so it could do with some kagawa/hazard style tweaking.

I do agree that a Javi Martinez/M'Villa style midfielder might be a more urgent need right now but i think realistically we should be looking at 3 players.

Fabio heavily linked with a loan move to Porto or QPR.

Yep, apparently we've got wind that Hazard wants to go to City or Chelsea so we're going for Kagawa instead.

I dont mind too much, I just hope Kagawa can do the business.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 9:22am On May 24, 2012
I like Ando, I just dont think he is good enough or consistent enough for us to build our midfield around him. He's a squad player at best but his lack of disciple and injury record shows we should consider getting rid if we get a decent offer.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 1:08pm On May 21, 2012
I personally dont agree that he's too lightweight. If he's speed of thought and technique is good enough he will flourish pretty easily like the Mata's and Silvas or Nasri of this world. His best position is in the midfield 3 or behind the striker as the AMC, similar to how Mata and Silva play for their teams really. We cant always play 4-4-2.

I don't think I like this Hazard chap at all. What's with the whole LeBron James type announcement of who he's going to sign for? Comes across as a Arrow imo.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MrTA(m): 4:15pm On May 20, 2012
Yep, No way Rio can play in the middle, that would be suicidal. But he showed he still has alot to offer in central defence. And also if we ever decide to play with a sweeper system, he's the best person to do that. I just hope he stays relatively injury free like he did this last season.

I still maintain, 2 top central midfielders required. and with Owen and Berbatov leaving, we'll definitely need a striker to come on. ( Falcao grin)

Lampard is awesome, a very good box to box midfielder with loads of goals every season. top player.

But Xavi is the best. Simples.

No, I've always been a fan. If we got Fellaini and Javi Martinez as our only midfield signings I would be very happy personally.

Joey82: how is Downing (Liverpool) better than Johnson (Mancity), Lenon (Totenham) who are not even on standby and Sturidge (Chelsea) on standby.
And how come Cahil (Chelsea) with injury worries is prefered to Smalling (Man U)?
Methinks the selection is not a fair one.
Smalling is injured and has been ruled out of the tournament otherwise he was on the list.

Some big names will miss the tournament through injury.

Carlos Puyol

SAF'S SPEECH lastnight.:-

"I don't know how you managed to stand up (for his
standing ovation) after yesterday - I've been
horizontal for the last 24 hours! Oh, what a day, Jesus
Christ! We don't deserve that. You supporters, how you
put up with that I don't know. These guys they did
their best, honestly, they were fantastic, well done
boys. They were brilliant, brilliant boys.

I read an article this morning - the Racing Post - the
only paper I read by the way! Says that we need 8 new
players, Jesus Christ! First of all where do you get 8
players, and why do I need 8 players? I have got a lot
of young players here who are evolving into the club,
of course I've got the old masters Giggs and Scholes
and Ferdinand and most importantly, and you know you're
not understand this, but I've got a fantastic staff.
Fantastic. The medical staff, the sports science who
bloody hell, they are bright boys, they talk stuff that
I have never heard of before and hope I never hear
again! They are beyond my intellect.

I'm a dinosaur, I'm an absolute dinosaur but what I am,
I'm a winner. And I want all these players and I said
it to them yesterday, when we lost the league to Leeds
United in 1992 the young players came out that day and
the Liverpool supporters were asking for their
autographs, Giggs, Scholes, Neville, Beckham, and they
were tearing them up, tearing their autographs up. And
I said to Giggs and the boys 'remember this day', and
exactly what I said to them yesterday - those
Sunderland fans were cheering for city, remember the
day. We won't forget that, I'm telling you. So well
done to the players, a fantastic group, they will be
alright, don't worry about them, a great bunch of lads,
brilliant, well done boys."

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Picture Of Carlos Tevez Holding Up 'RIP Fergie' Sign by MrTA(m): 11:05am On May 15, 2012
Tattooboy: perhaps. But if Fergie is not dead, how could Man City win? ''Not in My Lifetime''.
He didn't say City wouldn't win though? He said He wouldn't let Man united become underdogs to City in his Lifetime. At the start of the season he even said he expects that City were rightfully favorites for the title but he expects united to Challenge them as well.

Its a bit of banter which there is nothing wrong with but personally i think its in poor taste.
