Worried about Carrick in CB again but excited about Kagawa behind RVP.

coogar is spot on as per how the game went.After Everton scored the game could still be on up till now and united would be looking for the equalizer.Before then Everton over-ran our midfield and pretty much bossed proceedings there.

It's not shocking analysis. He just wants to troll and make fun which is a shame as I thought he was one of the more reasonable arsenal fans.

It was always going to be a tough match. We definitely needed some defenders out there today as the pressure Everton put on our defence was too much. Could definitely do with Rooney/Nani getting their act together asap. Both very very poor today.

Tough first half. We cant get to grips with Fellaini. he's winning every single ball and bullying Carrick.

Good things so far, DDG is sharp and looking good. Kagawa looking promising in the final third but isnt in the match enough. But I really like what I see of him so far. Rooney doesnt look sharp, Welbeck hardly in the match. I definitely see Scholes or Nani getting a 2nd yellow. Which will be a huge problem for us. Rooney and Welbeck off for RvP and young for me.

coogar: our medical team is officially the worst in europe - hargreaves called it rightly when he said so. which other club in europe has 4 centre backs injured at the same time? we don't even know how match-ready vidic is after his long lay-off so we have no cover at the back at all!

stats from physioroom.com say united lost 1681 days to injury last season - more than any other club - while city lost fewest, with 186. the margin is so huge one would think our medical staff were trained in oshodi! it's a disgrace that we have now turned into arsenal of 2003-2008 with the sicknotes in the squad!

I fear what they will do to RvP.

Im just pretty bemused that the same squad you got that produced months and months of debates and sparring on this thread has suddenly become good by the purchase of 1player in the position where there is no need.

How many deficient squads win the CL? The position in which they lost a massive player, they have not replaced. Squad mentality and discipline is still d same, yet they buying prima donnas.

I think defence will be ok if we dont have an injury plagued season like the last one. No other team could really have coped with that many injuries at once. I think the squad is good in terms of numbers but I still feel it lacks that top quality midfielder. Not necessarily a DM as I dont think that is really need, I want more of a box to box Central midfielder.

Anyways, I figure with this signing most teams will spend more time defending against us than attacking us so

As it is, HE'll make us stronger without a doubt but I still think the right type midfielder would be better for us.

Also, his age and injury record isnt great. So Im a little nervous about this transfer as I know we wont be signing anyone else so we've essentially put all our eggs in a RVP shaped basket.

Im pretty confident to say I've seen every single match Cleverley played for united last season and 2 team GB matches where he did well. If you think any of his performances are enough to form an axis with Anderson that will stifle Yaya Toure then I dont know what to tell you.

Its not about cover in midfield though? Its about getting the right quality that is lacking in the midfield. We may have the numbers in midfield but we lack the quality there. Quality that a Yaya Toure shaped midfielder would snack on in his sleep.

montelik: who said so? my money is on rvp ending up elsewhere. its clear the board aren't eager to put down the significant transfer fee as well as hefty wages for a 29 y/o player, with no resale value. this impasse will end the same way our sneidjer pursuit did last summer. unless arsenal cut the price badly or SAF delivers an ultimatum to the board.

Im more worried that this is where we are focusing all our attention. instead of more important roles like midfield and LB.

I have nothing against him as I think he's a good player but I feel we needed to address the midfield and left back positions we ignored those positions and got another striker despite all the strikers we have. it also doesnt make any sense to me.
