Seems like ridiculous and unnecessary admin to me. |
chamotex: ATTENTION!!!:Match threads or club threads? And what's prompted this? Usually too much trolling in the match threads so I prefer to use the clubs thread. |
Very ropey performance. Nani at his frustrating best ( good and bad in equal measure), RVP anonymous, Scholes wasnt finding time and space and Valencia's crossing was poor. Attacking wasnt too bad because we had some good chances overall and Hernandez had a few as well at the end. Good to see Carrick score. Gala definitely put us under pressure attacked with purpose and were unlucky not to get a pen. All in all 3 points, clean sheet. Im hoping DDG keeps the keeper's spot for a while, he was solid today. Liverpool next. Come on! |
While I agree re:buttner. I think that matches like Wigan at home are the types we might see him play while Evra will still take the big tougher matches which can give him a breather compared to previous years. Might help Evra's form actually. |
montelik: I really hope we have committed to one goalie for now and the foreseeable future. I can just see SAF putting in DDG midweek before rotating back to Lindegaard. We have just kept our first clean sheet, now would be a nice time to keep continuity. Besides I don't want another Carroll/Howard fiasco.Good point. I believe DDG should be given a run in the side. He looks like he's got much more talent even though Anders has been very good as well. |
Nani wasn't special but he wasn't bad. He stepped up in the 2nd half but he was wasteful with his shooting. |
I didn't see the match but saw powell's goal. Great result for us, also very happy with the clean sheet. By all accounts Evra should be looking over his shoulder. good stuff maybe give him a kick up the backside.Didnt hear good things about Welbeck today but I'm always willing to give him a chance. |
Stunning but way too big. |
Great news on Fletcher. And Kagawa/RVP also of course. |
I use miuiandroid's rom with a different launcher and it's fantastic. I can't I imagine using anything else. |
One of the things I always respect Apple for is that when they announce a device, they release within a month and sell like hot cakes. Why announce a device that is not ready to be released? Ridiculous. |
Im undecided now, I will take my time to decide my next device. Im still loving my S2 so no hurry to change but I know I dont want the S3. Im intrigued by Nokia 920 Win8. Im even tempted by the iphone 5 but I dont see that happening but there is a small chance. Im going to wait till november to see the new nexus offering and decide i think. |
adebayo201: now that Anderson is for sale, what is your say @coogar?Who says he's for sale? |
Looking forward to the usual England scapegoating. |
RVP and Kagawa have picked up injuries, might not play this weekend. ![]() |
chic2pimp: Tom Cleverly is a first class Doofus........Harry Redknapp's wife woulda scored that with her eyes closed. You're right, no good player has ever missed a costly chance before. |
International football break sucks. |
Phil Jones out for another 2 months after knee surgery. ![]() |
What can I say, He is worth every penny we paid. He probably prefers dragging a team to the title instead of dragging them top 4. |
Hugoboi: I just can't understand Fergie's attachment with the 4-4-2 system. Someone should pls tell him that he's playing the most obsolete formation in world football. No wonder these St Mary boys are just bossing the mf.Not playing 4-4-2 though. |
I hope Nani gets his form and gets a run in the side. No sure that position is the best for Welbeck. |
Much respect to the Legend Sir Alex for being in charge of 1000 league games. ![]() |
interesting lineup in a 433. Good to see Rio back. |
While injuries do happen for everyone they do unbalance things when you have far more than any other team in the league. Not a single team in the league would have survived the same injuries we had last season so I think that makes it a valid excuse even though you havent heard anyone say that's why we lost the league last season. We just get on with it. |
For the season I truly believe if injury permitting, we will win the league. But Im not confident of the fitness of our players anymore. Im hopeful of a semifinal place in Europe but I know that is unrealistic so I will settle for getting into the knockout stages. Domestic cups, we haven't won the FA Cup in a while and we have a big enough squad to take it seriously as I would like us to win atleast the FA Cup this season. Obvious cup games are more difficult to predict but I would really like to win it this year. |
Some team news for today. Jonny Evans is set to return for Manchester United's trip to Southampton on Sunday. Evans has recovered from a summer ankle operation and will partner Nemanja Vidic in central defence. Phil Jones (back) and Rio Ferdinand (groin) are back in training but unlikely to be involved, while Wayne Rooney (thigh), Ashley Young (knee) and Chris Smalling (foot) are all out. |
Im just glad I havent yet seen his one eyed mnster trying to escape from those shorts! |
My 2 cents on Nani is that firstly I want him to stay at the club. I understand the type of player he is, means he will be very frustrating as on his good days he can be incredible but his bad days are beyond woeful. His main issue is consistency, but also his downfall is his versatility. He is a very different type of winger to Valencia so I cant see the point in comparing them and please dont mention Ashley Young in the same bracket. His versatility means he will get shunted out to the left as well even though his best form as always been on the right. He is also still suffering from Ronaldo's shadow as people still think he should be as good or play like Ronaldo. He isnt in that style at all. Ronaldo was a direct winger/forward. While Nani is your tricky winger. They dont dribble alike or strike the ball the same or even finish alike as the only thing Nani has that Ronaldo doesnt is the subtle finish, the little dink or chip finish. I hope he finds his form and gains some consistency as I still believe he's the best winger at the club. In the last 2 seasons he has really improved and stepped up his game now its about finding that consistency. |
I'm sad to see Berba leave. I'm hearing Fulham are now favourites to sign him. ![]() Wouldn't want him to turn it on against us. |
Good thing we have RvP then. Infact we're a little top heavy with strikers so we can afford Rooney's injury at the moment. We really need some defenders back asap though. |
Dembele looked head and shoulders above our midfield by some distance. |
Going ok but defensively Im naturally worried because, Im still not convinced about Cleverly/Ando axis. I think i would prefer Carrick in there. Problem is, SAF weakened the defence by putting him there and then weakened midfield at the same time because he's not in midfield. Surely would better to put someone like Wootton who's been on the bench and played a few preseason matches that way only weaken the defence instead of both midfield and defence? I think we'll score in the 2nd half but we definitely still look like conceding. |
