montelik:
My position is we tough it out till d summer and then have our pick of d best available players for d positions we want to address, rather than tie our hands with average players now. Last year in January d biggest available signings were players like Andy Carroll & Charlie Adam. Real quality is never available in January, particularly not in Euro championship year. Even Aston Villa refused to sell Young, who is far from top notch in January last year. If we buy now we are forgoing d ability to get d really quality players when d summer comes round. D type of quality players we need if we want to get back to competitiveness in Europe and add to our European titles.

As for looking for players in Scandanavia and other places, d problem is such players will require adjustment time, meaning d won't be ready when they arrive, so why bother making such signings who won't be ready immediately. SAF needs to stop wrapping d youngsters in cotton wool and throw them in and lets see in between now and d end of d season.

Also hell no to Fellaini.
While I totally agree with you about the january signing and in particular the young players. Im trying to look at it from SAF's eyes and if he cannot play the young players in that match like yesterday what are the chances that they would get a chance in the second half of the season where there is alot less margin for error? and *fingers crossed* most of the injured players have returned.

If we tough it out till the summer with the current squad minus Vidic we would require a huge brain fart from City and Spurs even to finish ahead of them.

i agree the injuries are bordering on insanity but for feck's sake - play the pogbas, morrisons,
stop playing defenders as midfielders, stop playing midfielders as defenders.
This is my main problem with SAF. if those kids cant play in this match they can never play at the highest level for man utd.

Another issue with Ddg is his scrawniness. Kid needs some pounded yam/fufu diet for sometime so he stops looking like and having the presence of an 11 year old boy.

Also thank you Martin o'neil shocked

Yeah, that was terrible. Cant even hide behind luck, Blackburn deserved it.

Less said about ddg the better. Not even a single save today, no presence in the box nothing.  I think Lindegaard should be given a run now.

Though its also unfair to blame the whole thing on him. only Berba and maybe Valencia did anything today. The rest were so poor.

I know the injuries are alot but how about we never play Park and Rafael as central midfielders ever again SAF?
Or let's see what Pogba/Morrison etc can do?

Oh well, have a happy birthday SAF.

Onwards and upwards

It was always going to be a disjointed performance, it was a disjointed team selection. Too many injuries and it was always going to catch up with us.

Such a shame it was in a match like this.

Smalling could be out for 3 months, glandular fever apparently.
Please God, let this be a sick joke, please. undecided cry

Edit - According to SAF, Chris Smalling has tonsillitis, not glandular fever, and should be back to face Newcastle in January.

Tinkerman is taking us down.

What the hell? Utd squad is very useless right now yet they can spank small teams.
A team with a 50mil striker can't even win simple games.
On the contrary, that should show you that the united "squad" is not useless.

Could be worse, we could have DDG playing like Cech has been performing for the past year. Cech as probably been worst keeper in the top 6/7 teams this season. Im normally a fan of his but he has been really poor for a while now. So I wont complain too much a 20 yr old non english speaking, new arrival in the team/country DDG. smiley
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Luiz Suarez Banned For 8 Matches For Insulting Evra by MrTA(m): 9:45am On Dec 23, 2011
Although, the FA have been idiotic in not releasing their findings and waiting till January for that. The fact is, an Independent panel considered all the evidence provided. More evidence than what we are all privy to and decided Suarez was guilty of abusing Evra with regards to his race. Which directly contravenes a particular FA rule. No one knows anything about what exactly was said. All that in the newspapers were alleged, so how can you go with that as if it means anything?

Kayyy:
i just wanted to add this, i kind of understand and agree the poster on the inferiority complex, especially taking a full look at what happened on the field as repoerted by the UK media, there was tugging and arguing between both players, refree called and spoke to both of them, suarez pats evra on the head, he says "dont touch me you south american , " suarez replies "negrito" although repeatedly,, evra reports to the refree, few mins later evra went into a tackle receives a yellow card and said " why are you giving me a card is it because i'm Black", this is reported on the daily mail, sun and other UK link, what is baffling is how evra is the only victim in this scene as a result of his skin colour, i'm black and i'm not trying to defend suarez as he has his own issues but
if a black man would conviniently play a race or ethnic card (south american) on others and take it as an insult back is a no no for me, thats how i see it.
You might want to re-read this part you wrote as it makes no sense. How is Evra playing the race card in relation to Suarez?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Luiz Suarez Banned For 8 Matches For Insulting Evra by MrTA(m): 4:08pm On Dec 22, 2011
For those who think 8 matches is too much. Can you try racially abusing someone at your place of employment and let me know how many days suspension you receive?
