We had Caicedo offered to us before Brighton got to him. We declined the opportunity just like so many talented players we could have signed before they got expensive. Haaland etc. Its not the scouting that is our issue its still the decision making once the talent has been identified.

Barca are paying all of Rashford's wages which is good. That is at least 10m saved for a season. €35m to make it permanent if Barca decide to take up that offer.

I think Amorim is the one pushing for the signing of Mbeumo, cos i don't understand why the club is focus on him and not looking elsewhere. That desperation to get him is why Brentford is raising his fee, just like Ayax scammed United for Antony cos bald fraud refused to go for alternative..

You're just giving yourself unnecessary headache because there's no indication Amorim is the one pushing for Mbeumo. Could be the club, could be Amorim.

We shouldnt even be looking at £80m+ players yet. we're not in the position to be doing that. we need to build a solid team before we can start doing that.

I think there are a couple of factors. It will be very lazy of me or anyone to lay all the blame there. Maybe the set up plays a role, maybe not, but we know how angry we got at some players for failing in the most basic things when we watched them last season. Has nothing to do with formation, just basic football skill.

For sure. I'm not laying all the blame at the manager. The players have already shown they are not good enough. I just wonder if the manager is also squeezing the most juice possible from this squad.

It would have been great to have all the players we intend to buy this transfer window, at least before pre-season, so they can gel well with the team, and the coach can use the period to drill in his tactics to the new guys and blend them with the old ones.

That's the ideal situation but unfortunately because of the players who need to leave, they wont be leaving until late in the window because teams know we're desperate to get rid so they will low ball us at the last moment. Everyone is going to sit tight.

If he is benched for a year without any action. Nobody will pay him any reasonable Sign on or a hefty salary next year. Left to me, bench him the whole year and mske him attend trainings with the U21s.

Oh I agree but not have him anywhere near our under 21s. But sometimes these players are shortsighted and can only see he has a year contract on huge wages he's not willing to give up.
