What I think as a fan is different from what the Glaziers think as an owner.

Do you know how much it costs these guys to thrill us every weekend? Despite the fact that ticket sales have vanished?

Football means different things to different people. Only the club owners know where's it's pinching them
Club owners know where it is pinching them? huh

If you're referring to City and Chelsea, you have a point. They dont need the Super League. They have joined it because they want to play with the big boys. This was the brain child of the Americans and Perez. None of those guys are spending their own money.

Are you saying all the teams that participate will earn the same amount?

From information I have perused through, clubs will get a certain amount for participating in the SL and the winner will definitely get an additional cash which will double or close to triple that which the UCL offers presently...What I am saying is that the extra 200-300m that comes with winning the trophy is worth fighting for unless you tell me that all the participating team will earn the same amount...
Of course it wont be exactly the same amount. But the difference wont be that much because the competition is literally owned by those founding 12 teams.

Why should Klopp or any coach in the Super 12 speak against it?

When there was a total lockdown last year, did Klopp accept a pay cut? Wasn't his wages paid in full?

How much has Liverpool made in ticket sales since last year? Nothing meaningful

How many players in the Super 12 teams accepted a pay cut even till now? None that I know of.

I strongly doubt if any coach or player in the Super 12 would condemn it.
Pep has spoken out against it. He's obviously not going to quit but he has atleast said he's not happy with it.

I'm talking about the SL and not domestic leagues.

I think the winners of the SL will get at least twice or thrice what the UCL winner gets now away from their participating bonus thus I don't see the Glazers keeping a coach that won't get them the trophy that comes with some mouth watering cash.
Ultimately winning the SL trophy wont matter because the tournament is owned by the big 6 clubs so they all get paid regardless. So they wont let just the winning team enjoy the money. The Glazers never cared about trophies, They care about making money.

But they'll be more incentive for the team winning it. Are you saying that extra £200 - £250m isn't enough to get clubs scrambling to win it?
Why? The premier league will not be able to command that money anymore. Those SuperLeague teams will no longer field their best players in domestic matches. They'll treat it like the Carabao cup because who would want to pay for a watered down product?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Manchester United Fan Thread:''20 Times EPL Champion by MRTA7: 12:53pm On Apr 20, 2021

https://thesuperleague.com/press.html

I've just realised a few things.

Firstly its The Super League. Not the European Super League. That is a very important distinction because of the future of this Super League.

This will destroy UEFA competitions completely and Devalue the premier league and ultimately destroy domestic leagues.

The reason why is because these SL clubs have no reason to play their best players in the premier league anymore because if you're not winning the PL there's literally nothing in it for them. So they'll slowly start playing 2nd string players in the domestic leagues and then very soon get out all today because it wont be worth playing the domestic games if they get so much money playing the SL.

There is so much that this will change and definitely not for the better. UEFA have issues, lots of issues and require a reform but the SL will completely damage competition in the game.

UEFA needs a reform for sure. But if you think this proposed Super League is the answer, then I have a bridge to sell you.

Illimitable:
Who would sack their manager 6 days before a cup final because of results?? A competition he’s never lost in the final.

Jose has won Carling Cup 4 times with 100% record in the final.

2005
2007
2015
2017

If there’s any manager that can beat Pep in a final, it’s Jose. Copa del Rey in Spain is a stark reminder of that.

He was sacked because of the ESL issue. Where did Levy suddenly find the £35m severance package to pay Jose? cheesy
Embarrassing stuff.

It doesn't make sense if it's sporting reasons. Not at this moment. They're in a cup final and in the hunt for a top 6 place.

And reports emerged that Jose refused to lead training this morning and now we hear that Klopp is threatening to resign.
it'll all come out eventually but I find it laughable.

Play like that every week and no one would complain.

Pogba took it personally against mourinho. And I noticed he played more central in the second half which significantly increased his influence in the game. Well done to PE teacher if he advised him to do that.

My God, I was so sure greenwood was going to score that goal, what a talent! Deadliest finisher at the club.

In the 93rd minute, cavani wa still chasing ball like an 18 year old. I almost cried. Those boys better learn from him.

Bissaka also improved with his attacking play in the second half. If he can keep it up like that.

On to the next one!
That Greenwood strike on his so called weaker foot was past Lloris before he even moved.

That was one of our best 2nd half performances this season. Fred was good even though I was abusing for his very poor first half. Same with McTom. Bruno was ok. Pogba,Shaw and Cavani were excellent especially in the 2nd half. And so happy for Greenwood's performance. Kid is so special. Really good win today. If only this team can finish with a trophy, that would be really good.

The Italians did a hatchet job on us. They quickly injured Amokachi and Amuneke our most in form players, and then our inexperience did the rest.

For me, it’s Maguire; and that’s majorly because of his speed. He’s so slow.

Lindelof is quite as horrible when it comes to 1 v 1 but his speed helps him to track the opponent’s movements better. It also helps him to recover faster and better.

Once you get past Maguire, even if it’s by an inch, it’s ova.
Its Maguire's turning circle that kills him. He turns like a cruiseliner.
