He didn't play badly today in my opinion. He kept the ball well and moved the ball quickly. Our play was more fluid with Matic and him compared to when Pogba and Fred came on.

Matic though is still the only no 6 we have at the club. We need a CDM badly. Pogba, VDB, Fred, McTom are all no 8s and Garner is not ready.

He definitely didn't play badly. But he just seems to let the game pass him by. Matic is a real 6 but even on the ball he seems far more adventurous. Donny looks like he'll be consistently dropping 6 or 7/10 performances without making a big impact. I really hope he can improve but I'm not sure because I think that's his style.

I don't think Donny is going to be a big player for us. He plays too safe with the ball. Not Brave with his passing and movement.

If Varane gets confirmed, he'll be the 8th player to have played for both United and Real Madrid. Can you name the others?


Edit: it's actually 9 but I wont count the player from the 80s.

I think Telles might leave. Lots of interest from Italy and he probably knows he's not going to be first choice anytime soon.

Varane is a good experienced player and a good defender but I dont think he's as good as his CV suggests.

I've never watched him and thought he looked like one of the best defenders in the world.

He is better than what we have though so I guess its more about lowering your expectations.
