afrodoc2: I am an acolyte at the temple of Lord Ororo but any United fan that thinks he is our greatest ever player needs to educate himself about our history. Ok, My mistake, I think we're talking about 2 different things. I was talking about the best player that has played for man utd which I feel CR is. considering the amount of individual accolades he picked up in half the time of the other greats. But if you're talking of the greatest man utd player that its obviously Charlton. |

afrodoc2: He is not. When clubs consider their greatest ever player they consider what the player did while playing IN THEIR COLOURS and not what they did before or after or what they did for their national teams. Our original trio of Ballon d'Or winners Law, Charlton, Best (The Holy Trinity) are greater United players than Cristiano Ronaldo. based on? How many won as much as he did and won individual accolades as a united player? |

Lana1: Anyways trolling Argentina aside, i think its high time we reviewed how SAF failed in his transfer dealings.
We were in pole position to sign Modric back then. But because of wages we didn't and ended signing Kagawa instead as Modric went to Madrid
Modric went to Real because Spurs were being difficult selling to us and preferred to sell abroad. once Real became interested we didnt stand a chance.
He also didn't do much in trying to keep C.Ro. That incident with Beckham. Etc.
He did everything possible to keep CR7 but the kid's mind was mad up that he wanted to go to real and he begged SAF to let him go to Real. SAF even uttered that he wouldnt sell that mob a virus due to Real Madrid's interested. He then convinced his to stay once more season and that he will sell the next season but only for a world record straight cash fee of £80m. CR7 stayed and SAF kept his word. I dont think you can say he didnt do much to keep him.
We've always had this knack for letting the very best players slip through our fingers!!
I dont think anyone has ever painted SAF as being perfect because he wasnt He made huge mistakes in selling Stam and also letting Pogba go at such a young age. Beckham wasnt a mistake. It was time to go and the club moved on without them. |

dopeJemi: Exactly my point, Pogba is not our problem, he is far from it sef, can't we see that the only player who doesn't get criticized is the player who doesn't play to Mourinho's tactics
I repeat, Mourinho is our biggest problem. Most of us know he is. Even those who don't admit it deep down they know. What should we as fans do? Not support the club anymore? We still have to support the club and see what happens don't we? |

Could have been worse. I thought it was going to be like 4 or 5. We improved in the 2nd half for sure. I'm not convinced by the formation. I think that didn't give us good ground to start the game. Definitely need Ndidi in that midfield. Mikel was ok. Those 2 oyinbos cannot be our CB partnership at the world cup. Probably Balogun should start.

eph12: At least 5 positions require new blood for this team to be competitive again. That's 5 first 11 positions and not just bench warmers. Do you know what it means to bring in 5 new players to join the first team? That's half of the first team I still do not believe the team requires a rebuild from scratch but that's just me. |

sinizia: How can your only issue be his age? Did you read what displayed on the screen when he scored his first goal? It read "2 goals in 7 matches".
Take note that some of those matches he started but didn't finish, while some he came in as substitute. Imagine after paying not less than £90m and between 350k - 400k (he earns around 320k at Madrid) plus bonuses, Bale will now play a total of 7 matches due to injuries and loss of form. Mu questions are who will take us to the finals or semis if our world class winger is injured? We go back to using Mata on the wings and hope he becomes a Robben? Or UEFA will wait for us till Bale is fit for us to continue?
If Madrid didn't have so much quality and fit players like Ororo, Marcelo, Ramos, Modric, etc., will they reach the final for Bale to make an impact?
We shouldn't buy a player that spends more time injured than playing, we are not a pensioner club. We already have injury prone players like Shaw, Bailly, Jones, Rojo, and we want to add Bale to the list and end up selling more shirts off him than winning titles with him? Bale is injury prone. He's too costly with so much baggages for us to buy him. We need fit quality players that will help us win matches not sell shirts. Bale proved that he still has a lot of quality. He hasn't had a consistent run in the team so of course his numbers wouldn't be good. Still managed 21 goals in 39 games though. He's injury prone and his age are 2 big problems I have signing him. |

Klopp made no improvement on his two full seasons on the EPL log yet. Most people you've spoken to can see the next EPL winner based on what?
This one is just moving about speaking to dunces Would have thought Liverpool are signing players for free and not paying them any money. Just winning all the trophies including the world cup. |

patrickmuf: Maguire? Have you watched him? He might not be world class but don't jump out of the context, I said when compared to Smalling... Maguire is better than Smalling. I've watched him quite a bit because he was highly rated. I was even interested in us signing him but when an English player is comfortable on the ball the English tend to wildly overrate them. And thats what I noticed with Maguire. He's strong and confident on the ball but his reading of the game is very poor. Positionally average. I can't imagine how he's lightyears better than smalling because he's better on the ball than smalling. That to me is laughable. I don't want this to turn into me praising or rating smalling because I don't and he's had a poor season for me. So I have no problem with him not making the squad but no one of other center backs are any good. |

Oasis007:

To be honest, Martial ain't helping himself either. Deschamps made it clear he picks Dembele, Fekir, Thauvin and Mbappe ahead of him because they can play multiple Positions.
Martial should develop his Skills, he shouldn't limit himself to a left Winger. He should be able to play multiple Positions like Mbappe. Even Nani was a Joy to watch on either Wings. Martial is talented, but kinda lazy to develop himself into a world class Player.
Ronaldo wasn't made by any Manager, he made himself what he is Today with dedication, commitment and enthusiasm for the Game. Martial can learn from Ronaldo, makes him is Mentor and moulds himself to become another Ronaldo for United. I 100% agree with this. Its why I'm not going to put all the blame on Mourinho ( even though he deserves a little) |

I think the issue is the use of the word "best" they're all shit so using best to separate Smalling is disingenuous. |
