Teeeee89: Sorry for the late post
All glory belongs to GOD! Applied: October 18, 2020 Biometrics: I did biometric some years back so it’s still valid
NSE letter: November 24, 2020 I sent emails and webforms that they should use the normal route for me that I can’t do Ielts and get the result before December 24, 2020
Upfront medicals : Nov 25, 2020 Medical updated to passed: December 4,2020 IELTS: December 3, 2020
Eligibility review: December 18, 2020 by the time I got my Ielts result and I realized I didn’t meet the cut off mark I had two 5.5 I was so frustrated. I actually used just two days to practice. So I sent another email that they should process using the normal route and I attached my MBS and semester fee receipt
NSE requirements submitted: Around 18 February, 2021 I uploaded my MBS and a letter of explanation about not been able to submit IELTS before due date . I uploaded it on my Gckey page where they asked for additional documents. I later saw someone talked about EOR( IELTS result remark ) so I did that which took about a month to reply. I did it 11 December, 2020 and got a response 13 January, 2021. One of the 5.5 increased to 6.0. I was contemplating if I should send it or not but I sent it 11 March, 2021 with my explanation that I Just got my result because I didn’t request for my result until March Btw I also deferred from January to May. I also sent a lot of mails (everyday) and few webform (once in a while) Ghost update: March 24 & 25 Bvl and PPR: April 12, 2021 submitted passport same day Passport returned: still waiting
And I just want to let you know that I was denied study permit extension 4 times some years back and I kind of overstayed but I kept on applying so when I was refused the 4th time I came to Nigeria. But God helped me write a very strong letter of explanation and with a LOT of prayers. Thanks to everyone on this thread
Please I would like to know what next after submitting passport what’s the process? All I know is that my passport has been sent to Abuja. who can I email? where is the passport going to next ? Congratulations. Please what are the documents u submitted while sending ur passport |

Cooladex: Pls I need the advice of gurus in the house.
My wife got an admission to Univ of Saskatchewan this month for fall 2021.
Presently we don't even have a 4months statement. POF, because the funds are scattered (our fault) We intend to start growing the account from May till August, and submit her application by early Aug.
Pls is this a good idea and I hope the school won't raise any issue as to why we started study permit application so late? If session is for September u have to consider applying as soon as possible cause processing time are really slow these days. Some people applied in Oct 2020 and still waiting. You don't want to put urself under pressure. Put your funds in one account and provide detailed explanation In your SOP 1 Like |

How do we use fixed deposit certificate on NSE route when the money is not in the account? Submit MBS showing how the funds left your account for fixed deposit. This is what a friend did and her application was processed via NSE 1 Like |

My form A was processed in 4 days and my friend got PTA up to 4K dollars from them as well. Avoid First Bank, I repeat avoid First Bank! Please can u help find out if her flight ticket is one way or 2way ticket? I know they don't give PTA to 1way flight |

@Spectro to be sincere eh!
I submitted my visa application 7th April 2021, went for biometrics 9th April 2021. I have been waiting for an email requesting for my medical result and i haven’t gotten it. I’m really tensed about it.
How long does it take to get a request for medicals after biometrics. Meanwhile, can a study visa be approved without medicals? I would like to know pls.
Thanks Medicals is usually the last stage in this process and dat gives one 99% of visa approval but u have the option of doing an upfront medicals. Don't be tensed cause the truth is... you just submitted. |

nifnifemi: You don't need to wait for 6mths. It is called migration. My old passport will expire by August 2022 and I did a renewal in Feb 2021. And the old one was destroyed You will pay about 5k extra for the migration process plus the amount you will get a new passport . Did mine at Ikoyi passport office If you don't have time on your side, when you get to Canada you can renew it.
Thanks for this info. |

DannyD12342: Let's somebody shout hallelujah. Indeed what the Almighty God cannot do, does not exist. Out for the blues, BVL and PPR dropped today. I will share the full timeline soon. But now I have a small issue nairaland. In the PPR, they noted my passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada. • Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.
My passport is to expire on the 2nd of March 2022. And my expected stay in August ending 2022. Please what should I do? Hi. Congratulations. Please when did u apply? Aspa your passport expiration, from my little understanding... you can't apply for a renewal until you passport is 6months to expiration. If you must, I understand u must go to Abuja and currently booklets are not available. I know someone that has been waiting for passport renewal for a month now. So like someone advised, renew ur passport and permit in Canada. |

Frankrobbn1:
You should use it as an auxiliary proof of funds not the primary POF for your visa application. My reason for saying this is because most visa officers at the High Commission of Canada have some skepticism about mutual funds as they ponder that funds in this account have encumbrances and other obligations and you will not have full access to funds. As a consequence, you can include it to support your financial establishment not your primary POF.
It will end in praise But in the reference letter they provide its bodly stated that client has access to funds without any form of encumbrances. |

What they mean is that the money must have been in the account for about 6months, but you are to generate 1year statement No I don't think it means the money must have been in your account for 6months. It says "Showing sufficient proof of your studies for at least 6months". From my understanding... It means u must have sufficient funds for ur study and stay in canada for at least 6months 1 Like |

Onaya: Thanks a lot, @MsJanez01. When I said that I read English in school, I meant that I studied English as a course in the university, and have a degree in it, not merely as a taught language . And that is one major point that the waiver from my school emphasizes.
On the other hand, I am still waiting to hear people's opinions/advice regarding my bank account which hasn't been engaged in meaningful transactions for a year now: if it wouldn't be any issue when my brother transfers 2m to it for my POF.
Oh I get u now. |
Travel / Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by MsJanez01: 6:15am On Apr 07, 2021 |
Onaya: Thanks for your opinion. But does it mean that the waiver and the document I intend to get wouldn't have any positive effect on my application without sitting IELTS, especially as I read English in the university?
U see this race, just do what is asked of you. We all read English in the university but a number of us still write the ielts. IRCC demanding for ielts from Nigerians as a requirement for NSE are fully in the know that English is our first language. That doesn't mean your application won't be processed but through NSE; will be at the discretion of the VO. My advise, just write it cause the wait for NSE is draining how much more through normal route. Dont be at their mercy 4 Likes |

Omalinze:
In fact make I tell una, anyone here looking for help in writing their SoP should contact Uzomachukwu. I initially said I will keep the testimony until after I got my visa in my hand. But as I checked my account today and saw that my eligibility review already started on the 26th, my heart just dey jolly. Even with my 4.3 CGPA, I had applied two times to different schools in Canada for an MA in Archeology. 2018-19, no admission. 2019-2020, still no admission. 7 different universities, no one even waitlisted my application. So last year I had already said I was not going to waste my money applying again. But fortunately, I saw Uzomachukwu's post here just before the application deadline as he talked about how he was given admission and scholarships by three different universities in just one year.
Omo, me I said noo! He must tell me how managed to do it. Just one trial and he got three admissions when I have been applying since 2018 without even any encouraging feedback. Supervisors no even gree give me face sef.
My guy charged me wella shaaa. But he really did the job. In fact, he took my SOP and tore it to pieces. As I saw the red marks everywhere, I just told him to pls just write a new one for me. He also rewrote all the recommendation letters I was using. As God would have it, last month, I got admission from Calgary with part funding to cover my tuition, and this month again, another offer from University of Saskatchewean. I had already submitted my visa application before Saskatchewan messaged me. Even though I don't have my visa yet, I already feel like a big boy. With the beautiful 5 page SoP which the SoP guru himself designed for my study permit application, my confidence dey high. I trust that my very big God will not let me down. God will not bring me this far just to let me down midway.
My timeline: visa submission - Feb 27 NSE request - March 3 NSE Submission - March 10 Eligibility starts - 26 March PPR - Very Very Very Soon!

I currently don’t have IELTS so I plan writing after submitting my study permit application. Thanks From recent trends... they request for Nse after a week to a month of submission and you have 30 days to submit. I'll advise you put all to getting your ielts to aid NSE route as the waiting after submission is not funny at all. Can be mentally draining. 3 Likes 1 Share |
