SportsKeshi & Crew, Players, Or NFF: Who Is To Blame For Poor Eagles Performance? by msmon(op): 7:48pm On Nov 19, 2014
I have to post this immediately as we are on the verge of losing to South African at home for the first time in football history. I don't know if we have chance of qualifying if we eventually lose because I don't know the mathematics of football.

Who exactly is to blame for poor Eagles performance?

Was GEJ wrong to enforce Stephen Keshi?

What about the players attitude?

Keshi is technically deficient?

This question posed is not only on performance against South Africa but it's crystal clear Nigeria has hardly put up a good performance in 2014

Great article, it was very articulate. I wish to crave your indulgence that I'd like to copy/paste this article on other sites. Thanks in advance.
maclatunji:
STAGE OF REPUDIATION Or STAGE OF DENIAL You will hate brothers with beards and jumpy trousers, you will wonder why they make islam so difficult. You will claim EMAN is in the heart and no need for show off. You will single out some unkempt sunnah brothers and use them as the excuse why you won't keep beard or wear jumpy trousers. You won't see the neat and corporate ones among them as shining examples of Sunnah. You will blame you non-compliance on those who are dirty. You will use them as excuse on behalf of those who hate sunnah.

STAGE OF TOLERANCE : Here you will have stayed or known sunnah brother for a while, you would have interracted with some, spent times together, in class, discussion secular issues, in office and work place, being on the same public buses or assisting each other at some times or another. You will now accept them as what they are and be surprised that some of them are so intelligent, educated, knowledgeable in other topical issues apart from religion. You will be surprised that so, some of these people are so exposed?

STAGE OF ENVY : here, you have realised they don't bother about your discouragement and occassional teasing of their beard, trousers and so on. You will begin to silently envy them and wish you could also take up Sunnah without people saying you are going fanatical. You will remember all the past feelings you also had for them in the past and fear you may also become a victim of same from others.
STAGE OF TRIAL : Now you will begin to delay shaving your beard until it grows longer than before. You will still cut it, you are only trying to see how people will react to it. What you are doing here is called "water testing". You will be praised by some and discouraged by others. You will still remove the beard next time you visit the barber shop.

STAGE OF RISK TAKING : Here you will select one of your trouser, usually the oldest one or the least liked one and take it to the tailor to reduce the lenght above ankle. You will start wearing it inside the house and later to run some short errand in the neigbhourhood. Many will ask you if you have joined "Tableeq". You will jokingly reply "Is it not good?". You are only trying to measure the deep of their minds about it.

STAGE OF CONSOLIDATION : Here, you will begin to wear the jumper more frequently and to farer place. You will begin to trim your beard and leave it to grow to a predetermined lenght.

STAGE OF ASSURANCE : Your observers have identified you with Sunnah now and they are getting used to your new appearances and activities. Some begin to call you "Alfa" or "Malam" or "uztaz" as a way of teasing you, but you won't be bothered any longer.

STAGE OF RESOLUTION Now you are convinced you have broken through and no fear in your heart again. You will take the rest of your trousers to the tailor for adjusting. You will make your new cloth to same trouser lenght and you become thirsty for knowing Islam more than before. You want to attend Halqoh and isamic programmes. You wish to fast on monday and thursdays, you wish to perform Tahajud etc.

STAGE OF REMINISCENCE : You begin to remember you old self and the way you used to mock sunnah followers. You remember your prayers were not as regular then as now. You remember how you used to be involved in some Haram things but now avoiding them so that people won't use your new life to abuse Islam and others. You now see your self as a good ambassador of islam and ready to protect the image and integrity of Sunnah by staying off bad people. You now wish to drop remaining bad attitudes in you and you pray to Allah for it

STAGE OF ANTI-CLIMAX : You see some brothers in your former positions, who look down on you as no-social and non-entity, but you feel sorry for them and wish they could also become followers of Sunnah. You will resolve to relate with them patiently until Allah uses you as a model to guide them also into Sunnah. It is at this stage you will now appreciate how other also tolerated

WhatsApp Switched On End-to-End Encryption For Hundreds Of Millions Of Users

SportsAkwa Ibom Mobilises 25,000 Fans For Eagles Game Today by msmon(op): 8:58am On Nov 19, 2014
The local organising committee has announced plans to drum up thousands of fans for Super Eagles' game against Shakes Mashaba's men on Wednesday

Akwa Ibom state government has concluded plans to drum up at least 25,000 supporters for Nigeria in their crucial 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against South Africa in Uyo on Wednesday.

The African Champions need to win against the 2013 Afcon hosts to confirm their place in the 16-nation tournament at the 30,000 capacity Akwa Ibom International Stadium.

Akwa Ibom commissioner for sports, Sam Monday Ebong Uko said that the government have put in place a standard security measures to avoid any stampede, just as he insists there was no stampede which marred the grand opening of the ultra-modern 'Nest of Champions'.

On efforts to avert stampede, the Ebong said that security agencies have been mobilised to manage the hundreds of spectators which hopes to watch the game just as entry ticket price has been subsided and fully on sale.

"I want to let you know that tickets have been sent to the 31 local government areas in Akwa Ibom state. The chairmen of the areas have prepared to transport their people for the game, Ebong told Goal.

"We expect at least 25,000 people for the game, though we won't sell up to 30,000 tickets to avoid stampede.

"Who won’t be very happy and why won't we have crowd won’t want to see what the governor have built for the state with the number of people of over five million people.

"I can say that the last opening ceremony were very well organised and well managed and cannot see what happened. We expect journalists from inside and outside Akwa Ibom to give government kudos when they are doing what is good," the Commissioner noted.

"We are prepared for game. You can see our level of preparedness and testify to it. Every security arrangements are in place with the Is and Ts been crossed. In terms of entertainment, everything will be already sought out.

"In terms of ticketing, we are pushing out the ticket to the general public. And before, Tuesday evening, all will be concluded as per the ticket. I know that there are a lot of pressure over the tickets, but I promise the match tomorrow will be uncommonly eventful," he explained

"We have large security agencies in place - the security control group, state security service, policemen, road safety and others have keyed into event to ensure smooth hosting.

"We have designated areas for vehicles to park and only designated vehicles will be allowed into the stadium complex. People will be allowed to sit only on their right seat as the tickets will allocate you your seat.

"The price of the ticketing is highly subsided. The price is N500 for popular side, VIP is N1000 and VIP extension for N3000," he concluded.

PoliticsWhatsApp Activated End-to-End Encryption For Millions Of Users Across The World by msmon(op):
Growing up in Soviet Ukraine in the 1980s, Whatsapp founder Jan Koum learned to distrust the
government and detest its surveillance. After he
emigrated to the U.S. and created his ultra-popular
messaging system decades later, he vowed that
Whatsapp would never make eavesdropping easy
for anyone. Now, Whatsapp is following through on
that anti-snooping promise at an unprecedented
scale.

On Tuesday, Whatsapp announced that it’s
implementing end-to-end encryption, an upgrade
to its privacy protections that makes it nearly
impossible for anyone to read users’ messages—
even the company itself. Whatsapp will integrate
the open-source software Textsecure, created by
privacy-focused non-profit Open Whisper Systems,
which scrambles messages with a cryptographic
key that only the user can access and never leaves
his or her device. The result is practically
uncrackable encryption for hundreds of
millions of phones and tablets that have
Whatsapp installed—by some measures the
world’s largest-ever implementation of this
standard of encryption in a messaging
service.

“Whatsapp is integrating Textsecure into the most
popular messaging app in the world, where people
exchange billions of messages a day,” says Moxie
Marlinspike, Open Whisper System’s creator and a
well known software developer in the cryptography
community. “I do think this is the largest
deployment of end-to-end encryption ever.”

Textsecure has actually already been quietly
encrypting Whatsapp messages between Android
devices for a week. The new encryption scheme
means Whatsapp messages will now travel all the
way to the recipients’ device before being
decrypted, rather than merely being encrypted
between the user’s device and Whatsapp’s server.
The change is nearly invisible, though Marlinspike
says Whatsapp will soon add a feature to allow
users to verify each others’ identities based on
their cryptographic key, a defense against man-in-
the-middle attacks that intercept conversations.
“Ordinary users won’t know the difference,” says
Marlinspike. “It’s totally frictionless.”

In its initial phase, though, Whatsapp’s messaging
encryption is limited to Android, and doesn’t yet
apply to group messages, photos or video
messages. Marlinspike says that Whatsapp plans
to expand its Textsecure rollout into those other
features and other platforms, including Apple’s
iOS, soon. He wouldn’t specify an exact time frame,
and Whatsapp staffers declined to comment on the
new encryption features. Marlinspike says the
Textsecure implementation has been in the works
for six months, since shortly after Whatsapp was
acquired by Facebook last February.

Whatsapp’s Android users alone represent a
massive new user base for end-to-end encrypted
messaging: Whatsapp’s page in the Google Play
store lists more than 500 million downloads.
Textsecure had previously been installed on only
around 10 million gadgets running the Cyanogen
mod variant of Android and about 500,000 other
devices.

The only encrypted messaging system that
compares in size is Apple’s iMessage, which also
claims to use a version of end-to-end encryption.
Compared with Textsecure, however, Apple’s
iMessage security has some serious shortcomings.
iMessage doesn’t track which devices’
cryptographic keys are associated with a certain
user, so Apple could simply create a new key the
user wasn’t aware of to start intercepting his or her
messages. Additionally, many users unwittingly
back up their stored iMessages to Apple’s iCloud,
which renders any end-to-end encryption moot.

Plus, unlike Textsecure, iMessage doesn’t use a
feature called “forward secrecy” that creates a new
encryption key for each message sent. This means
that anyone who collects a user’s encrypted
messages and successfully cracks a user’s key can
decrypt all their communications, not just the one
message that uses that key.

Whatsapp’s rollout of strong encryption to
hundreds of millions of users may be an unpopular
move among governments around the world,
whose surveillance it could make far more difficult.
Whatsapp’s user base is highly international, with
large populations of users in Europe and India. But
Whatsapp founder Jan Koum has been vocal about
his opposition to cooperating with government
snooping. “I grew up in a society where everything
you did was eavesdropped on, recorded, snitched
on,” he told Wired UK earlier this year. “Nobody
should have the right to eavesdrop, or you become
a totalitarian state—the kind of state I escaped as a
kid to come to this country where you have
democracy and freedom of speech. Our goal is to
protect it.”

Alim Uddin murder: Bicycle row boy Danny Drake given life

18 November 2014 London

Danny Drake was ordered to serve a minimum of 13
years behind bars

A 16-year-old boy who admitted stabbing another boy to death in a row over the sale of a £90 bicycle has been handed a life sentence.

Danny Drake, from south west London, knifed 17-
year-old Alim Uddin seven times at the Tilford House block in Brixton, south London, on 4 May.

Drake, from Mackie House, Lambeth, had denied
murder but changed his plea to guilty on the second day of his trial.
He was ordered to serve a minimum of 13 years
behind bars.
Alim had gone to meet him to ask for his money back after he handed over £90 for a bike the defendant failed to deliver, the Old Bailey heard.

Earlier, prosecutor David Jeremy QC said Alim "was
angry that (the defendant) had ripped him off."
"There were on both sides expressions of youthful
bravado but nothing that suggested it would lead to
a killing.

Danny Drake admitted stabbing 17-year-old Alim
Uddin
"The friends of Alim Uddin described the two boys as being wary of each other but said Alim was not angry or expecting a fight. He just wanted his money back."

The victim went alone to meet the other boy at
Tilford House, leaving his friends in a nearby park.
Just before 17:00 BST, a resident at the block of flats heard a "thud" and discovered Alim collapsed on his doorstep.

He was pronounced dead at King's College Hospital
an hour later.
A post-mortem examination found seven wounds -
four to the front of his chest, one to the lower back,
one to the shoulder and one to the thigh.

SportsStephen Keshi Denies 'Cash- For-Callups' Bribery Allegations by msmon(op): 7:04am On Nov 18, 2014
Nigeria coach Stephen Keshi has finally addressed insinuations that he collects ‘bribes’ to invite some ‘unknown’ players to the national side, the Super Eagles.

The ‘Big Boss’ has been speaking about Aaron
Samuel’s good form for the African champions,
and also went on to mention some other players
he has invited that has raised eyebrows, which
prompted people to think he ‘collects money’
from them for their invitations.

The 52-year-old has however called for Nigerians
to support the players, irrespective of who they
are and where they play.

“I just have to elaborate a little bit as is the case
with Aaron Samuel who has done well. Babatunde
Michael is the same, just that he’s injured right
now. When he first came, a lot of people were
saying ‘Oh Keshi took money from these boys,
Keshi took money’, which is very out of faith,” he
told Hot FM.

“We just have to believe in these boys because if
you guys don’t give them the belief and
confidence, how are they going to be the next
Okocha? How are they going to be the next Kanu?

“How are they going to be the next Uche
Okechukwu? How are they going to be the next
Peter Rufai?” Keshi asked rather rhetorically.
“We have to give them room to grow and that is
how football players develop. Messi didn’t grow in
one day, he had a lot of room to build.

“Ronaldo and the rest of them, Zinedine Zidane
and others and that’s it and if we can start doing
this in Nigeria that will be a great thing for all
Nigerian players.”

Onyebuchi Ezigbo in Abuja

Former Vice-President, Atiku Abubakar, monday
submitted his Expression of Interest and nomination forms, seeking the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) with an undertaking to remain loyal to the party no matter the outcome of the presidential primaries.

Atiku’s position came just as the Adamawa State
executive committee of the party endorsed his
ambition to fly the flag of the APC at the presidential election next year.
Speaking while submitting his forms at the party’s
national secretariat in Abuja, Atiku promised to
transform and uplift the economic indices of the
country if elected president.
“ I want to thank you and the party for the
opportunity given us first of all as the first to collect
this forms, I also want to thank you for the
opportunity again to be the first to return the forms.
“Let me assure you Mr. Chairman that we will
continue to be loyal and dedicated party members
no matter the outcome of this election, “ he said.
Atiku, as it turned out, was the first to pick and also
to return completed forms to the party. He said he
took time to fill out the forms and obtained the
mandatory signatories from all the 109 senatorial
zones in the country.
The APC National Chairman's Comment
The National Chairman of the party, Chief John
Odigie-Oyegun, who received the forms, commended Atiku for always striving to put the nation first.
“I have known you very well. I know what you are
doing and with everyday that passes, with what all of you are doing, it means that APC has become more popular.”
“I also want to say that in my movements, I have
come across your footsteps all over the place, just as I have come across the footsteps of other aspirants and I want to say thank you very much because the flag is been spread around the nook and cranny of this nation,” he said.

Oyegun thanked the APC presidential aspirants for
taking the decision to rally around whoever emerges the party’s flagbearer, mandating them not to relent.

He added that the need for change had become
inevitable, citing the purported impeachment of the
Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly by
seven Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members out
of 26 members.
“PDP is imposing impunity out of fear. Boko Haram is harassing everybody; they are still keeping the
Chibok girls. That is the kind of thing all of you APC
aspirants must bear in mind. We are dealing with a
nation where they (PDP) don’t know what to do. I am saying this for you to know the huge responsibility expected of you,” Odigie-Oyegun stated.
APC Adamawa State Pledges Support For Atiku

Meanwhile, members of the Adamawa APC State
Executive Committee led by its chairman, Hon. Binta Masi Garba, met yesterday evening and unanimously resolved to give Atiku their full backing towards realising his ambitions to create a Nigeria for all.

She told the gathering that the party stakeholders in Adamawa were thrilled by the former Vice-
President’s commitment “to job creation, improving
the economy, education, infrastructure, transparency in government and the overall welfare of Nigerians.”
“It is on this note that the entire members of the
State Executive Committee who are all here,
supported by the party chairmen in all the local
government areas representing the APC in Adamawa State hereby endorse the Turaki Adamawa for the 2015 Presidential election.
“The party, therefore, urges all APC faithful in the
state to support this gesture and also give Atiku
Abubakar their full backing. The people of Adamawa
must unite to ensure that the 2015 elections bring
about the change that we all seek, “ he said.

Honestly, the problem with the S.E is poor attitude by the player not Keshi. I mean how will a team that won the nations and also displace a so called best team in Africa on the way became so poor on of a sudden.
Secondly, look at Mikel (I'm one of his major critics) and I think he proved me right in the match against Congo by putting up an amazing and professional performance which goes a long way in we getting the 3 points, I use to tell people that if Mikel gives half of what he is capable of, Nigeria will get results in every match.
