That's absolutely ridiculous, there is nothing like sexual harassment in tertiary institution, it's not secondary school for goodness sake. In fact, some of this female students has allowed themselves to be used a tool to satisfy lecturers' sexual urge. Don't forget that the average age of a tertiary student is 18 and above. However, I'd be glad if they can stop the extortion of students in general, that's very common. THE Commandant, Nigerian Army Armour School (NAAS), Brigadier-General Dike Nnaa, has declared that the Nigerian soldiers were ready to defend the country’s territorial integrity, even with the last drop of their blood.
Speaking at the 2014 Soldiers and Officers graduation ceremony on A1 Crewman Reconnaissance Automotive, A1 Crewman Tank Automotive, A1 Crewman Tank Weapons, Crewman Communication, A1 Crewman, Armour Battalion, Company, Armour Platoon, Platoon Sergeant Commanders’ Courses held at the NAAS in Bauchi, General Nnaa stated that it was only soldiers, who could defend Nigeria than anyone else.
“We don’t need to fold our arms while there is insecurity in the country. It is we, soldiers, who will fight to stabilise this country because it’s our constitutional duty and that is why we offer training here,” he stated.
He assured that officers and men of the Nigerian Army would be given best of practical trainings with a view to preparing them well to defend the country. “You will discover that in battle, fear will be there when you see a colleague fall both on your left and right side. It is natural that fear will come, that is why it is our resolve now to give you the best of training. If you have the best of training and equipment your fear will reduce. “Fear should be removed from our minds because we have a country to defend and we have one country to call our own and the country is Nigeria.”
He informed that men of the Joint Military Task Force drafted to the troubled North-East geo- political zone were making progress in tackling insurgency and have recaptured Maiha, Gombi, Mararaba and Mubi towns in Adamawa State, from the Boko Haram insurgents. “They have driven the insurgents and as I am talking to you now, the insurgents are on the move,” he informed.
Meanwhile, the Commandant Armoured Corps, Major-General Tanko Gaiya, represented by the Corps Chief of Staff, Brigadier-General Kayode Ogundele, urged soldiers on the battle field not to betray the country and their colleagues. According to him, the troops in the North-East fighting Boko Haram insurgents were currently making progressing as they were gaining the upper hand in chasing the insurgents out of the country.
Meanwhile, nine newly-promoted officers were decorated on the occasion with their new ranks. Others are G Oyinwola from Major to Lieutenant Colonel; A A Adekuoroye; A Musa, S A Salawo and B M Abdullahi promoted from Captains to Majors.
Responding on behalf of the newly-promoted officers, Brigadier-General Sawyer said the promotion was an impetus for them to double their efforts, assuring that they would continue to contribute their quota in terms of generating ideas in tackling insurgency in the country. http://tribune.com.ng/news/news-headlines/item/22966-we-ll-continue-to-defend-nigeria-s-territory-with-our-blood-army |

Politics › Re: Kano Mosque Bombing: Attack Planned For 2 Months — Emir Revealed by msmon(op): 7:02am On Nov 30, 2014 |
Residents foil attack on victims’ hospitalMeanwhile, prompt response from residents, on Friday, averted what could have resulted in another catastrophic incident in Kano, as they descended on a female suicide bomber who was reportedly desperate to gain entry into the Murtala Muhammed Specialist Hospital, where most victims of the Friday attack were being treated, to detonate bombs.
Sunday Tribune gathered that no fewer than five suicide bombers were rounded up and killed in the city on Friday, as findings showed that determined worshippers at the Kano Central Mosque actually overpowered an insurgent, who was shooting at the confused worshippers after the bomb blast and set him ablaze.
A source told Sunday Tribune that it took the alertness of sympathisers carrying dead bodies and helping injured victims to the hospital to stop the female suicide bomber who pretended as a sympathiser to gain access into the hospital premises.
“She made frantic effort to detonate the improvised explosive device on her, but the people at the vicinity pounced on her, removed the device and in annoyance, set her ablaze,” the source claimed. Kwankwaso challenges Boko Haram to show faceIn the meantime, the state governor, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, while condoling the victims at their hospital, called on the perpetrators of the gruesome killing to come out for dialogue.
This is just as he announced that the state government would foot the bill of all injured victims receiving treatment in various hospitals in the state.
Governor Kwankwaso berated the attack, saying it was uncalled for. He added that whatever was behind the move, God was not happy with killing of innocent people.
The governor, who had to cut short his political consultation journeys to some states in the country, following the explosion, said he was touched when he heard of the incident. He urged people of the state to continue to pray to God to touch the hearts of those behind the act, so that they would come out and dialogue with government. Emir might have been targetMeanwhile, investigation showed that the statement credited to Sanusi, who also worships at the mosque, might have precipitated the attack.
He was said to have called on the people of Kano to defend themselves against insurgents’ attack. He made the statement when some Muslim faithful paid him a visit in his palace. It was in the course of responding to their observations that he reportedly made the statement. http://tribune.com.ng/news/top-stories/item/22915-kano-mosque-bombing-attack-planned-for-2-months-sanusi |
Politics › Kano Mosque Bombing: Attack Planned For 2 Months — Emir Revealed by msmon(op): 7:01am On Nov 30, 2014 |
•Come out of hiding, Kwankwaso challenges Boko Haram •Residents foil attack on victims’ hospital, kill bomber * Emir might have be targetedTHE eemir of Kano, Muhammed Sanusi, on Saturday, said the perpetrators of the devastating bomb blast that killed over 120 people and left hundreds injured, planned the attack for two months, though he did not give details to support the claim.
The emir said this during his visit to the affected Kano Central Mosque, adjacent to his palace. Sunday Tribune gathered that Sanusi, who was outside the country when the attack occurred, had recently, at the affected mosque, directed civilians to take up arms against the Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram.
The emir also directed, yesterday, that the mosque, which was reportedly blood-stained, be washed and cleaned up. “From all indications, they (attackers) have been planning this for at least two months,” Sanusi said as he arrived at the mosque straight from the airport, adding that “I have directed that the mosque be washed and cleaned and prayers should continue there. “We will never be intimidated into abandoning our religion, which is the intention of the attackers.”
Responding to the deadly attack, the chairman, Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, Dr. Bukola Saraki, described it as sad and shocking, urging President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to take responsibility for security challenges facing the country.
He expressed the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s readiness to partner with the government in abating the crisis.
Saraki, who spoke with journalists shortly after he obtained the certificate of clearance from the APC screening committee to contest the 2015 elections into the Senate, urged Nigerians, irrespective of political affiliations, to join hands with the Federal Government in sending away terrorism from the country.
Also commenting, leader of the National Action Council (NAC) and Owa’Tapa of Itapa Ijesaland, Dr Olapade Agoro, described the killing as “a highly condemnable desecration of a holy place of worship,” just as he described the perpetrators as “intemperate animals simply after blood-letting.” |

1 – My Daughter, the way to a man’s heart is no longer his stomach but the quality of your brain.
2 – My daughter, if your man must be Tall, Dark and Handsome then be ready to be the 2nd best because what you desire, others’ seek too.
3 – My daughter, if you allow your parents’/family/friend pressure push you into marriage, you may end up a single mother.
4 – My daughter, man that slaps you before marriage will build a boxing ring after marriage. Guess who his opponent will be – YOU!
5 - My daughter, A man’s greatest need in this world is to be respected, and the person he desires that respect from the most is his wife. Take it from me, when respect is given even when he doesn’t deserve it, it will motivate him to earn it.
6 – Daughter, if what attracted him to you are your bosoms and the sexy legs you flaunted, the contents of your brain had better keep him, else, there are too many well-rounded and bigger bosoms waiting to snatch him away.
7 – My daughter, the truth is men love sex, at least 95% that I’m aware of. To him, if you can’t continue, don’t start! If you start, don’t stop! Be careful!
8 – My daughter, if he doesn’t discuss future plans with you in the picture, he just want a fling, take note!
9 – My daughter, even when you trust each other, a little jealousy reminds him that you care.
10 – My daughter, men love a listener. No matter how much you want your opinion to push through, listen to his details and don’t counter it.
11 – My daughter, when you are already living with him before marriage (trial marriage), he won’t propose quickly. So, don't be upset, you caused it!
12 – My daughter, don’t waste your years waiting for an unserious man to propose just because his parents love you, you are going to be married and live with him, not his parents.
13 – My daughter, when you seek his advice, you make him feel more of a man than he is.
14 – My daughter, our encouragement or concern about his career or job works faster than listening to a motivational tape.
15 - My daughter, an engagement ring isn’t an assurance for marriage, it could possibly make you his regular sex-mate. It has happened to many, u better learn.
16 - My daughter, be wise! Men are childlike, to draw them nearer is the easiest. Be hatch with him, and he will run after someone else, but care and pamper him, he will be your forever.
17 - My daughter, you need to guard you heart. The grass is not greener on the other side. Do not believe the lie that with a slimmer figure, a higher salary, a faster car, or a bigger house, you will be a happier woman. The world is full of things and people that will serve as reminders that you don’t have the best of the best, but it’s simply not true. Live the life you’ve been blessed with, and BE THANKFUL.
18 - My daughter, learn to forgive. No one is perfect, everyone makes mistakes. If you make forgiveness a habit – for everything from major mistakes to little annoyances you will keep resentment from growing.
19 - My daughter, choose to love and stay in love. There are times in a marriage that you may wake up and not feel in love anymore. Choose to love anyway. There are times when you may not be attracted to your husband anymore. Choose to love anyway. Marriage is a commitment.

Health › 5 Reasons You Should Sleep Unclad by msmon(op): 6:39pm On Nov 29, 2014 |
Over the years, researchers have studied sleep and have disclosed several benefits beyond providing rest for the body. They have also pointed out that it’s not just about sleeping, but length of time, temperature, position, foods and other factors can contribute to getting the best out of sleep time and reaping its numerous benefits. Recent studies have focused on how what one wears to sleep may affect his/her sleep and according to an international study by the U.S. National Sleep Foundation, sleeping in the nude has been shown to have numerous benefits. Experts revealed to Daily mail of UK how ditching pyjamas is the best.
1. For a good night’s sleep
Sleep experts agree it’s important to keep cool at night as your body (or ‘core’) temperature needs to drop by about half a degree for you to fall asleep.
The brain, driven by your internal body clock, sends messages to the blood vessels to open up and release heat.
“Your core temperature is at its highest at 11:00p.m. and its lowest at 4:00a.m,” said Dr Chris Idzikowski, Director of the Edinburgh Sleep Centre, Scotland, and author of ‘Sound Asleep: The Expert Guide To Sleeping Well.’
“If anything prevents that decline in temperature, the brain will wake itself up to see what’s going on, meaning you’ll struggle to get to sleep or you’ll have disturbed sleep. “The advantage of sleeping naked is it’s easier for the body to cool and maintain the lower temperature the brain wants to achieve,” he said.
Disrupted sleep from being too hot doesn’t just mean you’ll get less sleep overall, but it might mean less deep sleep which is the most restorative type.
Deep sleep is key for memory consolidation and the production of growth hormone — important for cell repair and growth.
2. Stop infections
Wearing nothing to bed can help women avoid developing yeast infections, such as thrush, says Austin Ugwumadu, a consultant gynaecologist at St George’s Hospital in South London.
“Thrush loves warm, restricted environments. So, wear something loose or preferably nothing at all.
“If you wear something tight, it means less air gets to the area and you’re more likely to sweat, which can cause irritation,” he said.
3. Burn calories
There is an increasing focus on brown fat, a type of tissue in the body that may protect against weight gain.
While ordinary body fat piles on when we eat more calories than we burn, brown fat seems to burn excess calories to generate heat.
We know babies have lots of brown fat — they need it to keep warm — but studies have shown there are small amounts in the necks of adults too. Experts believe that certain activities could switch on this fat, potentially helping to burn calories at a greater rate.
In a U.S. study in the journal Diabetes, researchers found that sleeping in a cold bedroom could activate brown fat in adults.
Five healthy young men slept in climate- controlled bedrooms for four months. For the first month, the room was kept at 24°C, then it was lowered to 19°C, then it went back to 24°C and for the last month raised to 27°C.
They ate the same amount of calories and their calorie expenditure and insulin sensitivity — how much insulin the body needs to keep blood sugar levels stable — were measured each day.
The results were striking. After four weeks sleeping at 19°C, the men had almost doubled their volumes of brown fat.
Tests showed they burned more calories throughout the day when their bedroom was cooler (though not enough to lose weight) and their insulin sensitivity had also improved.
Senior author, Francesco S. Celi, said the study showed that over time, sleeping in a cold bedroom could lessen the risk of diabetes.
Michael Symonds, professor of Developmental Physiology at the University of Nottingham and an expert on brown fat, says sleeping naked may be beneficial.
“Brown fat can produce 300 times more heat than any other body organ, meaning if you can keep it activated for a prolonged amount of time you’d be less likely to lay down excess energy.
“So, anything you can do to try to activate it, such as lowering the thermostat and sleeping in the cold, may be of benefit,” he said. But room temperature shouldn’t be below a level at which you feel comfortable, otherwise you won’t sleep.
People who tend to feel hot at night and like to sleep naked, may have a high amount of brown fat, which causes them to feel warmer than others.
4. Lower blood pressure
Cosy pyjamas are tempting, but if you share a bed with a partner, going nude will generate a generous boost of oxytocin, a hormone that’s been shown to have a wealth of health benefits.
“It is triggered by closeness, particularly skin-to- skin contact,” says Dr Kerstin Uvnas-Moberg, a physiologist at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and an expert on oxytocin.
“Sensory nerves on the skin send impulses to the brain, triggering the release. “When a baby is placed on its mother’s chest, the blood in mother and child starts to pulse with oxytocin,” he said.
Oxytocin has a protective effect on the heart, as it lowers blood pressure. It also boosts the immune system and reduces anxiety. “But it only works if skin-on-skin touching is something you’re happy with,” he added.
5. Boost your love life
People who sleep naked have happier love lives, according to a survey of 1,000 British adults by a bedsheet company this year.
The study found 57 per cent of nude sleepers were happy with their relationship, compared with 48 per cent of pyjama wearers and 43 per cent of nightie wearers (onesie wearers were just 38 per cent).
Sleeping naked is a good strategy for those with body image issues, says Denise Knowles, sex therapist at counselling charity Relate.
“You can slip under the sheets and then take your clothes off, and then you can be touched, even if you don’t want to be looked at.
“Pyjamas might give the message ‘not tonight,’ but equally a lot of couples have a lot of fun taking each other’s clothes off,” she said. http://tribune.com.ng/component/k2/item/22777-why-you-should-sleep-naked |

Politics › Fayose Blast OBJ For Criticising Jonathan - Punch by msmon(op): 3:21pm On Nov 28, 2014 |
Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, today attacked former President Olusegun Obasanjo for his criticism of President Goodluck Jonathan, Punch reports. Fayose spoke at the Yoruba Progress Summit, held at the Oduduwa Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun State. Fayose, who was impeached as the Ekiti State Governor in 2006 during the reign of Obasanjo as President, said the ex-president was corrupt and was not in a position to criticise Jonathan. The governor alleged that Obasanjo shared a huge amount of money to people he did not name during his attempt to go for a third term as the country’s number one citizen. He said, “If you give your blood to Obasanjo, he will not support you. He doesn’t want anybody with independent mind. “You (Jonathan) did not level Borno and Yobe the way he levelled Odi; for that, he will not like you. We know how he was when he came out of prison and how rich he was when he was leaving office.” Fayose said his wife, who predicted his return to power, had told him that Jonathan would win the 2015 poll. www.punchng.com/news/fayose-blasts-obasanjo-for-attacking-jonathan/www.gurusloaded.com/obasanjo-is-corrupt-and-not-in-a-position-to-criticize-jonathan-fayose/ |
