The yam tuber has a close likeness with a human leg as it has what looks like the complete toes of a human being.
Despite the size of the yam tuber, some buyers have been reportedly avoiding it despite the giveaway price.

Well, am not an advocate of court marriage because its uncultured and unislamic.

You have just stated the obvious truth.

Omotayor123:

The reasons are obvious my dear Toks2008.
My parent didn't get married in court ; Does that makes my mum single And to think my dad will wake one day and send her packing is imposibility that can never be possible cheesy grin

Besides, court marriage doesn't stop a crazy/unfaithful man from being crazy/unfaithful. It doesn't even stop them from impregnating another woman. 'At worst you will call for divorce'!

The important thing is marrying a good man your bone and flesh, even without any form of marriage, he will cherish and Love you!

an official trip with a 33 man delegation. The president
was pictured being welcomed by American number one
citizen -Barack Obama in Washington D.C.

President Buhari, who left for the US this morning, will
be staying at the Blair House in Washington D.C during
his US visit, according to the presidency. He will be the
first Nigerian president ever to stay in the house which
is the US President’s official guest house.

The visit to Washington by President Muhammadu

a March election hailed as Nigeria’s first democratic
power transition in decades.

Politics / DSS Operatives Are Better Bodyguards Than Soldiers? by msmon(m): 7:57am On Jul 20, 2015
DSS are better bodyguards than soldiers – Ex-DIG warns Buhari

A retired Deputy Inspector-General of Police,
Adebayo Adeoye, has called for the immediate
restoration of the Department of State Services
personnel to the Aso Villa to provide close
bodyguard protection for President Muhammadu
Buhari.

Adeoye told The Punch that the use of soldiers as
Presidential guards could expose Buhari to danger.
Buhari had on Friday recounted his experience at
the Eid praying ground where he was almost
mobbed by youths.

He said that a man with a knife could have
attacked him, adding that only God protects.

Reacting, Adeoye stated that the situation showed
that the soldiers guarding him did not have the
requisite experience and skills to protect Buhari.
He insisted that soldiers have poor crowd control
skills, adding that the DSS operatives would have
better protected him because they were adequately
trained.

He said, “DSS operatives should be returned to the
Villa quickly. They should not endanger the life of
the president.

“Anyone advising the president to use soldiers for
his protection didn’t mean well. The president’s life
was in danger at the Eid praying ground, he was
almost mobbed by the crowd and I hope such a
thing would not repeat itself.

“The DSS should be allowed to protect the
President, military are not trained for crowd control
or close bodyguard protection.”

But a former FCT Commissioner of Police,
Lawrence Alobi disagreed with Adeoye’s position on
DSS crowd control skill.

He, however, admitted that soldiers should not give
the president close-body protection.
According to him, soldiers in mufti could be used as
part of the outer layer of presidential security, while
the DSS should rather be used for intelligence-
gathering.

He said DSS operatives were not so trained in
crowd control as policemen.

Alobi said, “The President’s security is a collective
duty, police should be used for crowd control, DSS
should be used for intelligence-gathering and
soldiers in mufti could be used for peripheral
security because there are different levels of
security for the President.

“DSS personnel are not trained for crowd control,
only the police can do that. Military intelligence
officers in mufti could be used (to protect the
President), but soldiers in uniform should not be
used, it gives a wrong impression.

“This is not a military government, so soldiers
should not be used. We should not militarise our
democracy”.

Politics / There Is Hope For A New Nigeria – Osinbajo Tells Nigerians In Addis Ababa by msmon(m): 12:05pm On Jul 16, 2015
A new Nigeria is happening and it will require the
commitment of all Nigerians. This is according to
Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo during an
interactive session he held with Nigerians living in
Addis Ababa Wednesday night.

The Vice President who had just returned to Abuja
today after speaking and participating at the 3rd
international conference on Financing for
Development hosted by the United Nations at the
Ethiopian capital had his first meeting with
Nigerians abroad since assumption of office.

At the meeting hosted by the Nigeria’s Envoy to
Ethiopia and the African Union, Ambassador Usman
Baraya, the Vice President said, “there is so much
hope and expectations. A new Nigeria is happening,
we are going to see a new Nigeria.”

According to him, “the reason I am so convinced is
because everyone of us, one way or the other,
believe that there should be a change. I am not
saying those who voted for President Muhammadu
Buhari and myself, even if it was the other
government, everyone of us expected some kind of
change.”

He noted that Nigerians were committed to the
“good of our nation, as it is the only place we can
call home and there is no reason why it cannot be
the best place in the world.”

Continuing, Vice President Osinbajo said, “the
President and I are committed to the good of
Nigeria. Our country deserves the very best and
does not deserve what it has got for so many
years.”

Prof. Osinbajo recalled the level of hope and
expectations from Nigerians during the campaign,
narrating how people showed that hope even to
Buhari and himself, including “when poor people
were offering us small amounts of money because
they believed and expected a better Nigeria. Even in
poverty, Nigerians are noble.”

Reiterating the President’s determination to deliver
the change promised during the campaigns, VP
Osinbajo assured that the new administration will
ensure that things are done very well.

Said he: “the ideas are there, we just need to do a
good job with implementation, and that is what we
shall do.

Asked about the current workers’ salary bailout by
President Muhammadu Buhari, the VP clarified
again that the monies from the Excess Crude
Account was not used but proceeds in dividends
and taxes from the LNG were released for sharing.
Specifically, the Vice President explained that the
bailout package approved by President Buhari was
a three-pronged relief package that will end the
workers’ plight.

These are:

*The sharing of about $2.1B from LNG proceeds,
made up of $1.6B in taxes and $500m in dividends.
The money is released for the payment of workers
salaries, which has been unpaid for several months
is many states.

* A Central Bank-packaged special intervention fund
that will offer financing to the states, ranging from
between N250B to N300B. This would be a soft
loan available to states to access for the purposes
of paying backlog of salaries.

*A debt relief program designed by the Debt
Management Office, DMO, and the CBN which will
help states restructure their commercial loans
currently put at over N660B, and extend the life
span of such loans while reducing their debt-
servicing expenditures.

He said the third option, by extending the
commercial loans of the states, would therefore
make available more funds to the state
governments which otherwise would have been
removed at source by the banks and that the
federal government will sway its financial muscle to
guarantee the elongation of the loans for the
benefit of the states.

In all of these, the country’s debt profile will not be
increased, the VP explained.

Asked if the states would not end up in the future
in a similar crisis situation, the Vice President
outlined a number of ideas.

First, he said states must do more to increase
Internally Generated Revenue, while also urging
them to put workers salaries as a first line charge
in their expenditure.

Besides, he stressed the need for states to clean
up their payrolls to ensure that ghost workers are
eliminated.

Another plan he disclosed was to ensure that all
state governments have vibrant Debt Management
Office, DMO, while ensuring a general atmosphere
of transparency and accountability in their public
expenditures.

During the interaction, many Nigerians in
attendance expressed confidence in the Buhari
presidency, noting that the new government have
re-energized and motivated Nigerians to support
the President in taking Nigeria to where it belongs.

Dignitaries at the interaction included the
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance,
Mrs. Anastasia Mabi Daniel-Nwaobi, Nigeria’s Envoy
to Ethiopia, Ambassador Usman Baraya, Professor
Babatunde Osotimehim, the Executive Director of
the United Nations Fund for Population Activities,
UNFPA, Nigeria’s Deputy Permanent Representative
at the United Nations, Ambassador Usman Sarki
and Dr. Mansur Muhtar, former Finance Minister
among others.

Politics / How I Will Spend My Four- Day Stay In America – Buhari by msmon(m): 6:12pm On Jul 15, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari has given insight into what he would discuss with his American counterpart during his four-day visit to the U.S. next week.

In a statement through his spokesperson, Femi Adesina, on Wednesday, Mr. Buhari said his talks with Mr. Obama would centre on security, war against terrorism, as well as trade and economic relations.

Mr. Buhari will depart Abuja Sunday for Washington DC and would during his visit “hold high-level talks with President Barack Obama and other senior officials of the United States government”.

According to Mr. Adesina, “topmost on the agenda of President Buhari’s talks with President Obama and United States Government officials will be measures to strengthen and intensify bilateral and international cooperation against terrorism in Nigeria and West-Africa”.

President Buhari will arrive on Sunday and would meet with President Obama at the White House on Monday, July 20.

The Nigerian president “will later hold further discussions with the Chairman of the United States Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey and the Deputy Secretary of Defence, Robert Work on military and defence cooperation”.

Mr. Adesina’s statement added, “The President will also meet with Vice President Joe Biden and confer with the US Attorney-General, Loretta Lynch, the US Secretary of Treasury, Jack Lew, the US Secretary of Commerce, Penny Pritzker and the US Trade representative, Michael Froman on United States support for his administration’s war against corruption as well as fresh measures to boost Nigeria-United States trade relations.

“The President, who will be received by the United States Secretary of State at the State Department in Washington DC, will later hold meetings with the United States Senate and Congressional Committees on Foreign Relations, as well as the Black Caucus of the United States House of Representatives.

“Before leaving Washington DC, President Buhari will address the United States Chamber of Commerce and Corporate Council for Africa.

“The President, who will be accompanied by the Governors of Imo, Nasarawa, Edo, Borno and Oyo States as well as the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria and Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Ministries of Defence, Foreign Affairs, Industry, Trade and Investment, will also host an interactive session with Nigerians in the American Diaspora.
“The US trip will also afford President Buhari the opportunity of a reunion with members of the American War College Class of 1980 in which he was a distinguished participant.

“He is due back in Abuja on Thursday, July 23.”
President Obama had on June 25 announced his plan to host President Buhari at the White House on July 20.

A statement from the White House on June 25 had said the visit would underscore the United States’ “longstanding friendship with Nigeria, our commitment to strengthening and expanding our partnership with Nigeria’s new government, and our support for the Nigerian people following their historic democratic elections and peaceful transfer of power”.

It also said President Obama looked forward to discussing with President Buhari the two countries’ many shared priorities, including U.S.-Nigeria cooperation to advance a holistic, regional approach to combating Boko Haram, as well as Nigeria’s efforts to advance important economic and political reforms that will help unlock its full potential as a regional and global leader”.

“In addition to hosting President Buhari at the White House, the United States will welcome President Buhari’s senior advisors for consultations with U.S. counterparts and other events aimed at building on the strong U.S.-Nigeria relationship,” the statement had added.

Police officers from Zone 5 in Benin have arrested
six persons, including a native doctor, in a failed
assassination attempt on one Etinosa Ighodalo of
lyowa in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of
Edo State.

The Zonal Public Relations Officer of the Police,
ASP Emeka Iheanacho, while parading the suspects
before newsmen, said the suspects were
apprehended following a tip-off from members of
the public.

Iheanacho said: “The assassination attempt was
due to power tussle over local politics of who
becomes the chairman of Iyowa.”

The Zonal police spokesperson further noted that
operatives from the Zone recovered a list from the
shrine containing the name of the would-be victim
and nine others marked for murder.

However the native doctor denied the claims,
stressing that the list of names recovered were
drawn to ensure peace within the community,
adding that the suspects gave him the list of
persons to be dealt with, but he refused.
