mightybishop:
Please before you praise this man, make sure you're living in Ibadan. I doubt if a person that owns properties, cars and run a business here in ibadan would ever praise this man. I will ask a simple question that requires a straight answer. What has this man done in ibadan that you can point at as development? Fine is doing well with the civil servant and abolition of school fees. Don't forget he also took a loan of 10b 2 month after assumption of office. We Nigerians are truly our own problem.
You are making loads of sense. I dont care about APC or PDP, I am only bothered about performance. Truth be told, i cant see any. The so much touted free education is shabby. Term is almost ending and the students are yet to be given the full resources they are promised. Citizens should be asking relevant questions.

Someone takes money meant for his state's development and purchases cars for the police, we praise him. What was he supposed to do with the money before, celebrate his birthday in Dubai?

I think it should be made law that all cars for our security agencies and interstate transport must be assembled in Nigeria. Buying Kia Rio does not make economic sense if the cars were shipped into Nigeria. They are using your money to fund other people's jobs and you are praising the governor when he should be answering questions for the cost of those vehicles and the comparative cost savings if the cars had been made in Nigeria.
Oh my world, you said it all. God bless you in abundance.
SportsRe: Nigeria Vs Ecuador: FIFA Under 17 World Cup (3 - 2) Full Time by MT: 10:27pm On Oct 29, 2019
Nigeria players are not settled. The tempo is too fast and blunt in front of goal. Ecuador can easily catch them on counter.
EducationRe: IPPIS: Nigerian Lecturers Do Not Hold Multiple Full Time Lecturing Jobs by MT: 6:38am On Oct 29, 2019
The op's rant does not hold any water. Address the issue you have with IPPIS, don't attempt to whip up public sympathy on this because you won't get one. You and I know majority of you are very corrupt and incompetent. Like someone stated, if you see Nigerians fighting desperately over a particular issue, there's a corruption somewhere there they are trying to protect.
PoliticsRe: Minimum Wage: Labour Demands Payment Of Five-month Arrears by MT: 7:45am On Oct 22, 2019
Instead for this useless NLC to act as a pressure group and pressure the govt to reduce politician's emoluments, make government leaner and merge unnecessary agencies in order to save massive funds that will be channelled to infrastructural development, they keep fighting for an increment that will be wiped out by VAT increment and attendant inflation in the market. Sometimes, I wonder the quality of people piloting the affairs of this NLC who only love to play to the gallery.

winterfell007:
Breaking News: major companies and industries like Nissan and Volkswagen are already making plans to leave the 'shithole' grin grin country in the wake of brexit. They can't be paying taxes here and there in every EU member country unlike before where once they pay the EU tax, it applies to member state. But now kasala don burst.
Even some Britishs are beginning to see the errors of their ways. Boris Johnson and other leave campaigners sold them a lie
.

Really sad. UK boxed herself into the corner. Staying in the EU while tabling their grievances and concerns to the EU would have been the best for them, but being one of the oldest democracies in the world, they wanted to respect the referendum (a measure of face saving) at the expense of their economy well being. Revoking the article 50 or going for another referendum will be the best, which realistically I dont see coming as they would have undermined the principle of democracy which they are passionate to sell to other nations.
Foreign AffairsRe: EU, UK Agree On Brexit Deal (Photos) by MT: 7:11pm On Oct 17, 2019
My candid opinion is everything is still in the balance. Theresa May agreed a deal with EU but rejected by the parliament; the same fate might await Boris. But in the event the parliament approves, which I don't see happening, article 50 might be revoked or the UK leaves with no deal. If the UK leave with no deal, UK will open more to Africans and Asians but the economy might tank, so they start the rebuilding process. It's not looking good anywhere you look for the UK and EU by extension.

winterfell007:
If they are that big? Why are they negotiating for deal? After all, they voted to leave not to 'leave with a deal' they should just leave like that since they are too big and prosperous to fail.
For your info, Germany and France's economy are bigger than the UK. They've both got veto power in the UN too. So what does UK have that those two don't have in terms of economic might.
Like I said earlier, EU only loss is that they've lost an important trading partner. With time, other EU members like Italy and Spain will fill in the gaps.
I guess you are wrong. UK is the major financial hub in EU, with strong pounds propping up the Euro. UK has also forged major business relationship with other EU nations overtime, these nations will bear the brunt. Both of the will lose but the degree of loss can only be measured in the future. Both EU and the UK are uncertain about the actual uncertainty that await post Brexit.

Not with america their greatest ally .....and for your info USA is bigger than EU economically .....so I see more closer relationship BTW the 2 countries ... in fact most american can trace their lineage to Uk
Be cautiously reminded that America is increasingly becoming an unreliable ally. It will be so devastating for the UK if their plan B is premised on a trade deal with the US.

DanXplore:
Lol in what universe is player of the century better than as many ballon d'or? Remember that Pelle played in the era where football was less sophisticated unlike Messi.

Also, I think it is more ideal to consider a player's individual performance than collective. No matter how good a player is, if you have very useless defenders who concede goals all the time, you will not go far in footbal and this could be illustrated well with the match Barca played against Liverpool in the most recent UEFA

Don't forget that Messi won gold for his country at the junior level and so presuming that he is not GOAT because he has not won a thing for his country is out of place. Also, Messi has taken his country to world cup finals atleast twice or even more. All the key playmakings and goals where made by him. What more do you want from Messi?
He won world cup too for argentina...under 20, I suppose

You dont know there colored only fountains were rules? That black people standing up on the bus were rules?

You dont know rules can be changed?

Is ISI a CHRISTIAN school? Or you have somehow appropriated it? Why do you think women wear hijab with no issue in telecoms, oil companies, banks, etc?

Better face up to reality, bigoted hateful hypocrite. This country is not for only you. You better learn the tolerance you whine about.
You are simply beyond redemption. I give up on you. Tough luck ahead....
EducationRe: International School, University Of Ibadan Suspends Student For Wearing Hijab by MT: 10:10pm On Oct 03, 2019
ornicus:
There were once rules for colored only fountains. Once blacks were not allowed in several private institutions.

The racists who upheld the rules were just like you. Hateful bigots with arguments about rules.

The girl has engaged in her civil disobedience, she has been punisher, and now the real battle will start. Enjoy your triggered chauvinist tears. More and more Muslims will stand up for thier right to wear the hijab. You can continue to gnash your teeth in bewildered hatred, or you can open your heart to inclusion This country is for all of us.
Your vain attempt wishing to be treated differently will never change the course in ISI. You are comparing mangoes to apples. You have warped sense of analysis and judgement. I gave up on you when you were comparing RACISM to RULES in a private institution. I have seen ISI female students wearing hijab on the school uniform OUTSIDE the ISI premises. The school is not having any issue with that. The ISI rule is DO NOT wear ANY religion-affiliated objects or materials on the school uniform, this affects ALL religions. You can not even wear a rosary on that school uniform. Is that too hard a rule to follow?. Why not take your wards to Ahmadiya College if you find that offensive?. The world is tired of people like you who suffer from silly superiority complex.
EducationRe: International School, University Of Ibadan Suspends Student For Wearing Hijab by MT: 9:48pm On Oct 03, 2019
ornicus:
Dude, we will watch. If ISI was a Christian institution and if it had very few Muslims then maybe. All this bigotry you're pushing will only work in a place where Muslims are a poor underrepresented minority.

In the end, this is business. You want to escape the hijab menace, retreat to the school in your village
I can only feel sorry for you. You should be ashamed of your own rants. ISI, as a private institution, has rules (which separates humans from animals) and if you cannot comply, you can take your child(ren) to another school. My sister and her husband are muslims, and they have children in ISI, they DO NOT agree that hijab should be allowed in ISI. Rules are rules....this has nothing to do with Islam, Christianity or Traditionalist....It is what it is ... RULES!!. Stop making the world to see ISLAM in a different and disgusting light. You can do better than this.

I don't comment on this show but I heard something that has discredited the BBNaija auditioning process already. Tacha said openly on live TV while abusing Mercy that Mercy "run" her way through the audition process. That's deep , way too deep. That's a pointer to what happens behind the scene.
SportsRe: FIFA Awards: Captains And Coaches Claim They Did Not Vote For Messi by MT: 8:41pm On Sep 26, 2019
The op should stop being MISCHIEVOUS. There was a voting process which had to be followed. If you failed to align yourself with the voting rules, then your votes got invalidated. That was the case with the Egyptian FA. In similar vein, Nicaraguan captain claimed he DID NOT vote at all but FIFA received a valid vote in his name submitted by the Nicaraguan FA. As far as FIFA was concerned, that would count as a vote, and its up to the Nicaraguan FA to conduct internal investigation to find out who submitted on their captain behalf. It is critical to be aware that PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Switzerland monitored the voting process and note that those claims would NOT have changed the voting result anyway.

Accept Lionel Messi as a credible GOAT because he is genuinely and indisputably one.
SportsRe: Piers Morgan: Ronaldo Is Better Until Messi Wins Something Outside Barcelona by MT: 12:24pm On Sep 24, 2019
Age is fast catching up with Piers Morgan. If Ronaldo had joined the likes of Atalanta or Eibar and win the league, I will eternally respect him. Are you saying if Messi joins PSG or Manchester City or Juventus, he won't win the league?. It's a given. Messi is the best ever. And don't ever forget that Messi had won a FIFA under 21 world cup with Argentina.

I have never commented on any tribalistic rant but I couldn't just resist the urge this time. Must every good things discussed here end up as a fight between Yoruba and Ibo. I am a Yoruba and I have watched good movies produced by the Ibo. Likewise, i have watched good movies produced by Yoruba. These are talented actors and actresses doing good for themselves, their industry and their country. To the e-warlords, what do you want to be remembered for. How can I forget the likes of Segun Arinze, Omotola, BUkky Ajayi, Alex Osifo, Zack Orji, Clarion Chukwura, Kanayo Kanayo, Clem Ohaneze, Pete Edochie et al. To you, yes you, who are you?

plaindealer:
It really doesn't take much for some to praise and celebrate a governor in Nigeria, they celebrated and praised the man for slashing the state's budget as if budgets are set in stone, they are projections and intents, nothing more.

Realistic or not, it makes no difference, even after slashing the budget to his desired figures, it still doesn't reflect anything real or realities because just like what he slashed, it's still based on unrealistic expectations.

We listen to the same laundry list of I will, I intend to or shall by Politicians all over the country without any credible follow-up or actions taken till their last days in office.

Let your actions and results speak for you, allow the people to commend you based on the positive effects of your work on their existence and daily realities.

As a society, we hail and praise meaningless platitudes instead of real achievements in brick and mortar, in real life life-changing programs and policies.

We've been so bastardized with poor and horrible leadership and representation that we celebrate anything, even ordinary speech and meaningless platitude.

Just sad.
I read your submission so late. I wish I could give you one million likes. This is not about hating APC or PDP, it is about asking for proper governance. I commend you.

Most of what Makinde wrote on twitter sound good on paper (more of wishful thinking). Implementation is key. I hope they are not abandoned during execution cos everything is premised on bigger IGR. So, this 100- day is more promisory than executional.
