It is over!. Penalty to Chile. Thai Keeper ruined our hope. We are out.... |
oh my world....Chile ALMOST scored the third. What a RELIEF!! |
I think it is over. Chile will fight to get that one more goal that will dash our hope. Haa if it happens, if it just happens...... ![]() |
Now i dont appreciate whoever created clock. It is incredibly slow at this perilous time. I dont know who or what i am watching - time or the players. Who pushed Naija in this hole? |
Never say never. I never knew a time would come I would support Thailand with such a passion. |
Bombard this hashtag with your thought on the match - #FIFAWWC #NGAFRA. That was pure injustice. |
I am enjoying watching our substitutes. They are fearless unlike oshoala and oparanozie... |
It is sad our coach does not believe in the real young girls. They are the real fighters. |
Our keeper is the only shining star I can see going forward. |
Our coach lacks tactics. He should just go back to wherever forest he came from. |
Our players too are not helping matter. Playing like chicken. With One player down, it is over. |
Now this was DISGRACEFUL. How could the referee do that??. That was very wrong and immoral. |
For my keeper to go the right way, one chilled bottle of stout for her! Barman...... |
That was NEVER a penalty and NEVER a sent off. Big BIAS. We might not perform but that was a huge cheating. |
Disgraceful performances. Couldnt even string passes together. |
Buckubuck:You are very wrong. Server "serves" resources upon request by a client. A computer system housing a database isn't regarded as a server till it starts to respond to request and serve resources. That's why is is called a SERVER. |
Buckubuck:It resides there on the card reader. It's preloaded, it didn't require use of internet to connect to any computer somewhere remotely. |
Buckubuck:Database can be stored anywhere. Database is not that hardware that houses it (in as much it supports read and write operations), database is just a piece of software managing data for you. Once you can connect your application to where the database is housed, you are good to go. |
Ejanla07:That's where architectural design comes. The card reader doesn't need to communicate with a remote computer somewhere. The database can be integrated on that card reader. To download the data to the remote location, they can write an application that will download all the data from the card reader to the remote computer. Still, that DOES NOT qualify that remote computer to be called a SERVER. |
mailmalc:Thanks for being civil in your response. I understand you were dwelling on the provision for server(s) in the INEC budget. I am focused on the technicality of the word - SERVER. If INEC budgeted for a server and did not buy it, that was another kettle of fish to be subject to scrutiny by the auditor. But for people to be saying that because the card readers sent data to a computer in a remote location(which i believe did not hold true anyway) qualifies such remote computer system to be called a server is a no no. that activity DOES NOT qualify any computer system to be called a SERVER. |
vizzyswagh:POS is driven by internet. |
mailmalc:You are wrong sir. That machine DOES NOT need a server to operate. The database can be internalised on it; If you are claiming it is communicating with a database based on the cloud, where did they get the internet network to drive it in various remote locations. I expect you to know that there are lots of architecture and infrastructures that will go into it to take care of security, scalability, performance etc., if that is the route they wanted to go (i.e. communicating with cloud-based database). |
candelanetworks:I am sorry but you are so wrong despite claiming to be IT-inclined. You were trying to build an architecture based on your assumption. A database DOES NOT not need to be on the server. It can stand alone on a computer system as a repository. I have pointed this out in a series of my post, there is a reason they call it a SERVER which I expect you to know, if you are as you claim. It is a SERVER because it SERVES out resources to client upon request. If I store resource(s) into a remote computer system, that DOES NOT make that computer system a server. It only becomes a server when the client request for information from the computer system and it responds (that is SERVES) by providing the resources to the client that requests for it. Not everyone is qualified to talk about server, as easy as it sounds, it is such a technical thing. |
What concerns me is that most of the people using iPhone can't even use 10% of its capabilities, including the men. iPhone isn't manufactured to be the latest fad in town but a real machine in your hands. |
I wonder why people are being emotional about this server thing. A court of law is not based on emotion. Anyone can lay claim to the presence of a server in INEC, the question is - is he qualified to talk about SERVER. Is he an IT professional whose evidence will be tenable before the court ?. A gateman can call an ordinary stabilizer, a UPS because that is the way it apears to him, it doesnt make him right. Like I have pointed out in some of my posts here, SERVER is a technical word and not everybody is qualified to talk about it. The question would have been: What is a Server ? and going by this definition, Can we safely conclude that INEC does have a SERVER. This is a case of someone accusing another of having a BIRO and the the other person says no, i do not have a BIRO but I have a pen. Wont he be correct if he is holding another brand of Pen which is not a BIRO. It is logical, reflect on it please. |
EngrKem:You GOOFED big time. With your ID name on nairaland as "EngrKem", I expect you to know better. |
toolovely:Do not be an ignorant lot. Saving or transmitting a document to a computer system DOES NOT make that computer to be a SERVER. A computer ONLY becomes a SERVER when it starts to respond to requests from you (clients) across the network. |
SouthSouth1914:My point is the TERMINOLOGY. If PDP was asking for access to INEC SERVER in court, then INEC would be right to say "We DO NOT have a SERVER" because in truth, there was no server. Smiles.... |
SouthSouth1914:Dont argue blindly please. There is a reason they call it a SERVER. Can you provide evidence that the head computer provides (i.e. SERVES) resources to hundreds or thousands of capturing machines. SERVER is a word that has been misrepresented by millions of people, so i wont blame you. |
Phoenixback:The internet means the presence of a network. The card reader in this case was a CLIENT but that computer you were storing into was not providing you with any resources. You were simply storing on it. You did not provide any evidence that the computer was SERVING you any resources based on your request. So it can not be referred to as a SERVER. Enough said. |
Nasa28:Lol. For there to be a server, there has to be a network. A server is a computer hosting your RESOURCES (in a lay man's language, your documents) and will "serve" (in a layman's PROVIDES) you with these documents when you ask for it either from your mobile, computer, another machine. We call these CLIENTS using technical words. This can be through online or offline. So I can have a computer hosting my RESOURCES and I might not have any client requesting for these resources. In that regard, it is NOT a server. A server "SERVES" (that is, provides) you with resources you request for. A computer system is just a stand-alone system. It is when you connect any client to the computer system that it starts to SERVE the pages to your client. That is why it is called a SERVER because it SERVES. Again in your case, you are STORING information on a certain computer system somewhere, you DID NOT state that the computer system is SERVING you with any RESOURCES. A legal loophole that can be explored by a sound lawyer. So, INEC would be legally CORRECT if they say they DO NOT have a SERVER. lol |
fikiman7000:You sent it to a REPOSITORY system. In your case, it is a computer hosting the database. That is NOT a SERVER. |
