Back to the discussion, can you point out one thing that is of government that is working in Nigeria! Can you? Where is NITEL today? Where is Ajaokuta steel among many others. Its obvious that government cannot run this thing. As a matter of fact, if these institutions/universities are in public hands, there will be a lot of competitions that will drive down the fees they charge in the long run. It's a very simple analogy. Even as I speak some government / state institutions are paying up to 200k. Yet it is government. I think you look at it in that direction

Before nitel was privatized it was functioning, though not well but functioning, can u tell us the state of nitel now and all other privatized institution and hear urself out. I will support this only when u tell me one privatised company that is working well now. Just when u have scaled through a bridge, u want to cut it down so ppl will not cross again

The obvious problem of this sector is just like every other sector in this country which is inadequate maintenance due to greed and corruption, not that we don't have money to finance them, therefore selling is like adding salt to the injury.
