Thank you for this. Yeah thermal wears are important. However for those that may not have it or see it to buy in naija (hopefully this is not the case), layering is another way to keep the cold at bay. And when you get there, get thermal wear as soon as you can. Ladies: get leggings and body hug tops that are either long or short sleeve, to wear inside before your outing clothes. Guys: same thing. double your inner Tshirts. As for what to wear under... dunno ooo, double boxers will not be it (there are male leggings, the types that athletes use) The cold no be here ooo... but we all go survive am. Bracha: 5 Likes |

True. Any international flight will leave Nigeria and go their hubs first before going to the final destination. Except it is a direct flight to the country (e.g BA to UK direct, Delta direct to US, Canada Air direct to Canada). Ethiopian will take you to Addis first before going into Canada, with a brief stop in Dublin... (but you will not come down) Same applies for Emirates.... first to Dubai, before transiting you to Canada. Truth is you will not get any direct flight that comes cheap. KLM will go to Amsterdam first before transiting to Canada. I am surprised the flight will have to go into US. I do not know how that works though or why it is so. But if the funds are not a problem, KLM, Lufthansa is nice. Air France (not so cool), Ethiopian air is also cool (if you do not mind the distance). Same with Emirates and Qatar. (comfortable, but very long) Some people I know have used Ethiopian, Egypt and Maroc (for the price)... (Ethiopian is still more favored amongst these 3). But if it is comfort, then KLM, Lufthansa, BA. (with plenty money) Kishkosh: 3 Likes 3 Shares |

Hey Obehi I am not a guru, however this is what I think. What is the probability that if you apply in June you will get feedback from CIC before August to enable you travel in time to start school? We do not really know. However applying for GCMS will give you a chance to know very well what the VO really thought about your application before giving a denial. 1. So if you feel you can adequately address the issue on your refusal letter, then by all means go ahead and re-apply for your study permit, while also applying for the GCMS notes. If you apply for the GCMS notes today, you will most likely get a response about this time in July. And if you find something you think you did not address in your reapplication, then you can do a webform to that effect. 2. Rather than apply for admission for 2020, why don't you wait to see the outcome of your visa process, and if you feel that they are taking too long to give you a response, then write to the school and apply for a deferral. Except the school does not give a deferral, then you can reapply for a fresh admission. Lastly there are no consequences persay. All it is, is for you to be patient, prepare adequately and boost your application, and then wait the process out. But it seems like you are in a hurry, and only you knows why. All the best. 1. LOE or SOP is used interchangeably in this thread. It means same thing. Usually SOP is for your admission process while LOE is for visa process. While LOE explains why you should be given visa with clear succinct plans regarding purpose of travel, SOP gives a clear and detailed explanation of your academic history and plans and why you should be admitted. 2. Your sponsor has to have enough after paying for you school expenses to take care of himself. I will suggest you get a co-sponsor, and like @Bracha suggested have them write a sponsorship letter to that effect. Though it is not compulsory, the letter can be specific as to what they will sponsor you on. One can sponsor you on your tuition and another on your living expenses. Lastly do not rush... please. I will share my story sometime soon on this platform. Obehi44: 1 Like |

Hello everyone. Please i am asking for a friend who has PR and wants to visit the US. But wondering if they have to apply for a visitor visa to US with a Canadian PR? Your response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. |

Hi Sis, I am so sorry to hear about your refusal. I know exactly how you are feeling right now, and it is okay to feel sad, but do not feel dejected or frustrated. Now you need to order your GCMS notes to know exactly why you were refused, and then re-apply addressing the issues raised by the VO. Though it says financial assets and financial status, but a GCMS notes can give better insight. I would suggest you look at what you have between you and your hubby and then compare with the expenses of the school, also bearing in mind that you have a child. Do you have scholarship from the school? If no then you should bear in mind that the VO may be expecting to see enough funds to cover you and your child (if accompany you) and also have enough left for your hubby. Do not rush to apply. order your notes, and also start to address the situation as much as you can before your GCMS notes come in... in about 30 days. Shalom! Obehi44: |

Obehi, please calm down, Do not stress yourself. Follow what Makano said, and be patient. One thing i learnt for these past 42 weeks of waiting was patience. I do not pray your application takes long as mine, but you just gotta be patient and hopeful it ends well. When is your school resuming? You can order GCMS notes as soon as it hits 10 weeks, and that will take another 4 weeks to come back. But in the meantime you just have to wait, and send them emails as well. Obehi44: |

Thank you Makano for your congratulatory message. You are one person I respect here. People like you and Austacus gave me hope. Waiting for your visa, but helping others like you already had your visa. Like I do not know how you guys do it. I read somewhere that when you lose or give of yourself for others, you will definitely get it back and also find yourself. (dunno if that makes sense... ). You gave of yourself, and you will find yourself, and someone will give for you too. I started to learn from you on this regards, and I became a bit more active on this forum and also started to share some tidbits or little i know as well. My prayer for you is that you will rejoice soon and be on the receiving end of congratulatory messages. Shalom! makano: 5 Likes |
