Maybe 6/10.
It's just okay for now, but I believe with time(maybe from next week) it'll get better and we'll get to answer more questions.
Hopefully, I have a meeting tomorrow at work and unfortunately it coincides with my shift. I've already trade shift with someone so till on Friday (God's willing)I'll become active again.

I'm surprised armed forces budget was released last week.

Honestly, NA smokes the wrong stuff when it comes to SF. Anyway, the 3 months course that most of their "SF" take is basically like the British P Company/AACC (Not in standard but idea). Produce highly fit, mobile soldiers with better infantry skills.

However there are "real SF" guys with the long drawn course (copied Pakistani) and part are those you see at Flintlock.
P.S If you remove the language training for US Green Bs, you'd have a significantly shorter training duration.
Exactly, personally I feel what is worth doing is worth doing well. And if we want to have SF, then we should give them the best training. For goodness sake, we're in war and these guys would be very useful to eliminate target locations and destroy hideouts

GeneralFarouq:
Oh ok, my bad
The Army SF got levels, some are better trained and equipped than others.. Just like seal team and devgru
Ok, well I don't understand how they're able to produce en mass within a short period of time I think 3 months or so (kindly correct me if I'm wrong).
Is the training a crash program or they'll just get the basics and called special forces?
US seal are trained for 2 year, green barrett, delta force, rangers etc are trained for similar duration.
I understand we're in desperate times and we need special forces too, but I don't think the quality of special ops should be compromised irrespective of the situation. Check out SBS, why do you think according to some experts, they are rated among the best in Africa?
The quality of those SBS commando is not compromised to an extent.
I still believe we have intelligent and good officers that can bring effective change. Let them go back to the table to discuss, plan and strategise

Have you heard the banter between military men" you dey operational base, nah you get money you just tear house , you just buy car".....the biggest operational base in Nigeria right now, is from the north central to the extreme northern zones.
Go figure out why this war hasn't ended....
grin grin grin
If you sabi some of these men, or know someone that knows someone that knows someone that knows a military personnel, you go laugh tire.
Some matters can't and shouldn't be discussed in public forums.
That's why sometimes I don't blame SamuelAnyawu(forgive my spelling errors pls) or komekn.
In the case of the former, he has an idea of what's going on coz of his interactions with personnel while in the latter, he's an idealist (the earlier most people realise this the better). Our generals are somehow comfortable with the status quo, maybe coz they're benefiting directly or indirectly from the war and don't really care about it since they know they're safe and nothing can really touch them. Hence the lackadaisical approach to this war.
On the other hand, I wouldn't blame the theater commanders and GOC because you can only use the resources you're given and there's absolutely nothing u can do again. You complain, court martial dey wait u or they'll demote ur rank. They want to use that general to scare others from complaining in the future.
That's my opinion smiley

GeneralFarouq:
Is AFSF not real special forces? And are they not trained to reasonable standards.
These guys have been sent to train with some of the best in the world
And note some SBS personnel are being drafted to this Special forces.
In my opinion, the only thing SBS has more than AFSF is age and popularity.
I think you're not getting his point.
He thinks AFSF are not present in NE again and everyone is operating their own special forces there.
He thinks Army special forces are not trained to an extent compared to AFSF. AFSF was a joint task force operation and I think each force contributed a certain amount of men to constitute that task force.

@bolded, are there signs that they want to completely switch to live tutoring?
From the way a moderator spoke.
If this stage get a good review, they'll opt for it.
Brainly and LH team are tirelessly working round the clock to ensure they review all issues too.
Let's see the outcome from this 6 weeks. If it's successful and the students like it, they'll make plans to switch to it.

Tobiloba2407:
I don't know if you noticed but AFSF have been rotated out of the NE.... one of the few effective ways of securing our routes that hasn't been utilized is the use of snipers and real special forces in the standard of early SBS , to monitor routes that troops are passing. Left to me the army special forces are rush jobs that fall below standard.
That's it. I have a friend that was in AFSF, active around 2014-2016 (not exactly sure of the year) or so before he was rotated. They were effective to an extent on those guys.
Army have a sniper regiment or so and I've not really heard their exploits in this war so far.
Snipers are very deadly and can change the tide of an attack if used effectively.
This ambushes can be reduced to an extent before we get drones.
Before the advent of drones, militaries have been in existence and found ways to avoid ambush.
Just like Komekn said some days ago even though I don't completely agree with all his ideas, when ure in a war, expect everything possible and impossible, every single move that can be used against you, every option and how it can be carried out effectively against you, then find a way to eliminate all possible threats, have contingency plans in case shit goes south. Getting ambushed all the time is almost the same as not preparing for the attack before hand.
Even though your plan would fail, at least try it out, let's try something new. Only then can we know our strength and weakness.
I believe our Generals are smart and know what they ought to do. Let's hope they'll prove to be effective in making the right decisions to end this war.

For the person thinking navy na Moi-Moi.
I have a friend that I'll call a brother. RC and SBS, if u hear the story the baba they talk. Baba dust that yarn that navy don't see frontline o.
If go no war, you'll drop ur Tavor and carry AK with kpako dey shoot those bastards.
The narrative is same with Airforce. Only good thing about Navy and Airforce is that they have better welfare for their officers. But last last, if ure drated to NE and ure in AFSF, your chances of survival is the same with Army guys o.

As I said when the Super camp doctrine was still fresh. If our mobility isn't protected and effective, the Super camp doctrine will very soon become sour in our mouths. Behold what we see these days!

I still don't understand how the Special Forces we have are being employed.
I proposed an idea recently about how we can use special ops to reduce those boko boys from having free movement.
Since Airfoce have a nonchalant attitude towards responding to distress call at time of need, I would suggest we use armed forces special force (AFSF) if they're still in commission to carry out such attacks.
Airfoce can dedicate 2 asset (maybe one MiG with an alpha jet or a helicopter) on standby specifically for distress calls.
This would change the narrative we're facing now.
I think the mistake we're making in this war is that our forces are operating with rigid principles against enemies that are fluid.
This war is dynamic and we should learn to adapt quickly.
Super camps have helped to reduce attacks on outpost but indirectly increased the rate of ambush. These terrorists have seen that loophole and are exploiting it.

That's good to hear. I really hope it keeps working for you, because that will be nice. However, i hope you don't get to the point where you are unable to answer a very difficult question. Because that's one of the huge risks of live tutoring.
Imagine if it's a question that you can't explain or answer within 20 minutes and you don't have a clear idea of how to answer it especially some of those tough and long probability questions involving standard mean, critical values, binomial probability distribution e.t.c. What then do you do?
So let's hope it really doesn't get to the very tough questions.
Lol
So far so good, the questions are very basic arithmetic and also we work with slack. It's a platform where tutors can talk to each other, solving problems together for each other. We also have moderators with us whenever we're online in case we have any problems.
I raised that question before and the manager said it's normal to experience such but we can seek help from other tutors or once in a while end the session and the student would be assigned to another tutor. However, that should not occur all the time.
Note: this is a pilot phase and everything is just testing testing to see how it would look like.
I think brainly have plans to switch to this live tutoring especially for stem subjects. But that'll be later.
They're just trying this process and see loopholes and know where or what they need to improve.
The idea of tutors communicating with each other 24/7, selecting when you're free to work and for how long, the idea of earning even though you're not working as long as you clocked in and ure online (even tho the money small for the likes of gentroyal and oga topeontop) it's a good idea.
I hope they extend it to other subjects soon

Lol... Like spending close to an hour solving a maths problem, and after finding the solution, you wanted to post the answer, only for you to find out the question that have been lying unanswered since have been answered by another tutor?

You like being productive, you say?

Spending sleepless nights rushing questions is the being productive you like?
The fact that I don't have to wake up by 1am for some time is a relief. At a point, I couldn't keep up and I spent about 2 weeks away from CT.
If I like sef, I fit on my system for 4 hours (2 shifts) and earn by answering few questions. At most in a shift, you can't answer more than 3 questions for now since this is a pilot phase and were still hoping for students to come in.

First day of live tutoring was successful, although we all had some technical challenges. But nonetheless, we'll still earn $6 per shift ($3 per hour) for clocking in at the end of the day.
Let's see what tomorrow would be like.

if your bvn printout has your desired age, you can tell them that your guardians had the wrong details and you bvn age is right... the board secretary asked all of them to go swear avidavit and nobody was really dropped for it except some that had too many issues... but if you aren’t sure about it just apply Dssc bro
Just to add in what you've said, of the date of birth on your bvn does not tally with the one you want, you can always change it.
Go to the bank you opened your account (for multiple account holders) get an affidavit with the new age you want and also an ID card (voter card, driver license, international passport, national ID card) carrying the date of birth u want and they'll give you a form to fill.
I know someone that did the same thing last year.
But note, international passport and national ID usually carry the same DOB so you're left with driver license if you don't have or you can get a new one. Preferably, get driving school certificate and hustle for a new one. It'll cost u around 16-20k max and it should be ready within 2-3 months.
Just get everything ready the earlier the better.

Why not adopt the same strategy used by both the Americans and Brits in Iraq? That is use technology. Use ISR birds (manned or unmanned/drones) to patrol the stretch of roads routinely. These aircrafts can detect terror cells planting IEDs or laying ambushes along the stretch of road, and then call in airstrikes to flush the vermins out. Equally invest in more MRAPs and Mine clearance vehicles, jammers, and more tools for EOD and Engineering Corp teams. I think that may be more effective than setting up OPs along the road using Special Forces teams that may be over stretched.
You're right sir and this is the logical thing to do. However what I'm suggesting is just a small term fix so as to mitigate losses before we get equipment let's say within some months. Using special ops on the road will put them in danger
