Man, I'm a plumber and water treatment specialist.

Any chance I might get employment given that they have a functional public water infrastructure?

Are there private water companies there?
Yeah a lot of them, talking about getting a job, I won’t tell ya that you won’t get a job neither will I tell ya that there are jobs waiting for ya
The only thing I can say is that there’s job scarcity here also just the way it is in Naija, there citizens full street searching for job too
We all have differ destiny, you can succeed where others couldn’t so why not try if your mind is telling ya to try

Blessings

Hello boss, can I get laborer job there? Or farm work job.. how much is the pay range?
Maybe you think Abidjan is first world country
Bring it low, it’s nothing more like Nigeria, just that security and light is okay here and you can manage to start business with any amount you have
That’s the difference
Thinking about job, they have job scarcity just like Naija
Never forget it’s still the same African leaders
Bonne chance

Hey guy, many thanks for the heads up about living in Ivory Cost, I have few questions to ask for a brother that intends to move to Abidjan next year:
How long and how much can he get residence permit after arrival?
How much does cab drivers earn daily there? Do they have uber or bolt there?
Kindly help out with this information because my brother is a professional driver and he understands basic French smiley
Most Nigerians here use embassy then go to police and get the residence, what I mean is
I think the ecowas is helping, most Naija guys here don’t even have passport, they came in by land then go to naija Embassy and present evidence that they are Nigerian, they will get you ID (4500) after that, you can get residence from police
The residence last for 6 months and it’s 2100cf
Then the ID last for 5yrs
I think this helps thou

Today, i will be focusing on one of the simplest businesses you can do in Abidjan ; the Okrika business. 70% of ivioriens ware Okrika. The business is quite lucrative. 2 weeks training by understudying a trader in this line of business is the skill you need. 50k Cfa is a huge capital in starting the business.
Areas that are more lucrative are:
A. Female clothing
B. Male shorts
C. Female and male unisex shirts
D. Jug jeans and hooded shirts
E. Underwares.
There are other aspects of the business which you learn through experience. I hope this helps. Shalom!
Hmmm

@munachimso, in addition to what @roughdiamond has said, I would advise you not to despair. These is just 3 months for you in the country. You will excel. Just hold tight to the fund you have now. The rigorous aspect of starting life in another country is scarcity of information. Now you are getting it. Remember, Gambia is another ball game entirely.
Take a deep breath, and see the positives. You will be fine. Thank God you said you love the country. Get an App called Wordbit and start learning French. Rome was not build in a day remember. Shalom!
A very nice one bro, thanks
I actually love the country, language isn’t much problem for me but really wanna start something good
I think am in a haste lol, I wouldn’t have bothered looking for something now, since am new here.
Lemme keep eyes on ground, I believe I will find something good, but your advice are needed guys
Thanks everyone

So sorry about that, you see Abidjan is a good place to do business. Sometimes you need first hand information to excel in another man's land. I really would love you to ask your questions on this forum. It is okay. You can drop your WhatsApp number. I will advice you to the best of my knowledge. The money you would have used to go to Gambia can help you startup something here. Shalom.
Thanks for your response, if I may ask, what type of business can someone start with 3m here in Abidjan

When will we learn it, these politicians don’t want our happiness and well-being
Many will still sell the future of their kids for peanuts coming 2023
We all witnessed and saw it all what APC government did to us, most of us now manage to eat three square meals a day
Despite all the shooting and killings at lekki toll gate, you still want to vote in the same old people because of tribe this tribe that, tribalism have done a lot to us shaa
Nigerians at times are the reason for our pain
Think about the future of those beautiful kids and vote wisely

If u can sell Nigerian food stuffs here , fortune will smile at u..
Nigerian food is extremely expensive here .
Food stuffs are costly here more than in Nigeria x5
Beat market for u is serekunda market which is also the biggest in the Gambia..
To start up a business and register will cost u about a million naira. Shop are quite expensive to rent so u either pay 3 months rent or six months over here kn Gambia u dont pay one year like in Nigeria ,some landlord accepts monthly too.
Nice one, how much is shop rent just like you said earlier that house rent is about 180k is it a year or a month in serekunda
I think I love foodstuffs business but haven’t been into it before which means I need to learn the business a little before starting
Are there places that’s not much expensive where I can stay at least for 6months while learning or maybe share an apartment with someone
I just need help please
