Honestly, I think you're just one of those haters who are gathering your fellow walkers to pick on our dear president. If you don't like Buhari, kindly pack your bags and leave the country. Return in 2019 and vote him out. Finish! what is even wrong with some of you....someone posted something important and necessary without bias and u z**mbi is here spewing thrash...grow and get sense. so anybody who makes a contrary view is now seeing as a hater...inferiority complex kills..go get a life dude! |

Education › Re: How Did You Feel When You Had Your First "F" As An Undergraduate? by murphyibiam15(m): 2:00pm On Dec 28, 2015 |
Bbsharon: My experience.
When I gained admision to oau I was very happy, but I wanted to do biological science and I was given chemistry. I was just happy I got the admission and nothing more. I didn't take my time to find out about the course so I found out the hard way In school. One thing I want jambites to pls do before resuming. Find out about your course of study and stop waiting for any orientation programme, you might not hear or pick anything from what they will say and that's if you attend the orientation programme self.
I had my first f in year one as an undergraduate and I tell you it was terrible. I cried my eyes out. I had f in a 5units course, i just stared at the result for long and couldn't believe it was my result.Bad enough it was pasted with name and matric no. Typical of mathematics department in oau. They have got no chills for anybody, is none of their business if you didn't offer further maths in your secondary school. They teach like it's a continuation from secondary school further maths. They jump steps and keep telling you am sure you have done this in secondary school.
Gosh, those days i felt like strangling them and mind you I was attending classes regularly but still failed so it was that terrible. I immediately checked out my friends results too and they all passed, even the one that had an f made me feel bad, then I remembered that movie "3idiots" .
It wasn't easy telling people my pains then, some were just curious not like they care. And then you meet senior colleagues telling you stuffs like and this the simplest maths o, they killed my spirit the more. That f did a massive destruction on my gp.
I consoled myself tho after 2weeks and made up my mind to change my course immeditely. A decision many found strange, they kept reassuring me I can do better but I knew better than to listen to them. I know where my strength lies and have had enough of the push. My parents wanted me to become a doctor by force by fire which took my 3years of writing jamb without still getting it.So I decided to leave humbly witn my 3rd class just in year one before they show me the way out (road 1).
Immediately change of course form was out I obtained mine fast and am happy in my new department.
At the end is all about being fulfilled and happy in whatever field you find yourself.
Stop allowing people push you around to satisfy their own aims.Live your own life and stop existing only, have a say on your life. So many undergraduates today are studying a course cos their parents wanted them to or the society or even for their own selfish aims and then we have so many unhappy youth these days. Aim at being fulfilled and then you find happiness abundantly.
olawalebabs Fynestboi Richiez lalasticlala Bbsharon i have read through your post and i most tell u that u are not alone here before i share mine i will thank God am a medical doctor today first of all mine is that i have never failed an exam before in my life...the first failure i encountered was wen i wrote my final exams in medical school....university of Nigeria to be precise(UNN)...in medical school there is always this wave that keep sweeping ppl.out of school right from 1st year and is not just one person but could reach up to 100 in a class of 200 persons assuming u fail all three courses in your 2nd mbbs or even if u fail two out of 3 u will have to repeat a class....infact u need to know the cruelty of medical school in Nigerian govt institutions(not private) but i still managed to escape all these. to cut a long story short....i never experienced any single failure till in my final mbbs when our hod of surgery was provoked to anger by some students that have stayed up to 10years in school and he decided to set clinical exams that even resident doctors who followed to supervise the exam couldnt answer....and only few persons passed the exams....wen the result came out i looked at it several time to ensure i was seeing clearly and it couldnt still change it...now the worst is that ur mates are already answering doctors and talking about housemanship while u are still a student....my luck was that we usually write resit exams in 6months b4 but it was reduced to 3 months bc the new VC of UNN is a medical doctor and it was changed with ease what i actually learnt in those period is that everybody is on his own and nobody tries to care about u if things are not going well for u except family members who always available.....serious i really thank God that it didnt consume me and right now am a better doctor.... my quote:outside God,you're on your own |

Afam4eva: What the Op has said about the intra tribal divisions is true but it's not peculiar to just Igbos. What I find strange is the length you guys will go to unjustify the call for a Biafran state by some people . It's becoming embarrassing really. The emergence of Biafra does not mean there will be no fighting or divisions or that Biafra will be better than Singapore, so stop giving all these baseless reasons. If you complain of an impending division in Biafra then what is the basis of Nigeria remaining a country when the divisions are worse than anything that can come out of Biafra. Afam4eva: What irks me about this whole Biafran argument mostly from the opposition is that they can't give any good reason why it should not be. All they do is try to whip up childish sentiments that doesn't even make sense even to a toddler. very soon you will hear someone open a thread to tell us how a lot of Igbos are in inter tribal marriages and as such it will be hard for a Biafran nation to come into fruition. I'm not a pro-Biafran person but i like when i see people give very strong arguments. Normality: E dey everywhere, there are cases of clanship in Igboland, same as everywhere. I am an Ngwa man from Aba, on a normal day, I will be having oral battle with my bestie from Abiriba, and does it mean we exchange blows? Nope. Ngwa and Abiriba have clannish issues, but have u seen Ngwa man going to battle against Abiriba, Nope! But meet us on a normal day, we will jam head and battle an intruder. That is no case here, the whole "Igbos aren't united" comes from this clannish issues, but at the end of the day, it ends with banters and we all work together to forge ahead. This whole thing is getting stale, one thinh Igbos don't do is pretending to look like the best. Others pretend, we don't. Easy. Afam4eva: What the Op has said about the intra tribal divisions is true but it's not peculiar to just Igbos. If you complain of an impending division in Biafra then what is the basis of Nigeria remaining a country when the divisions are worse than anything that can come out of Biafra. NakedEve: Mumu Op I am from MiddleBelt and it is d same. We tribalize even d next village but we DO NOT KILL THEM. Tribalism is an ancient protective way of keeping tribal units distinct so as not to go into oblivion. That's y u have some people calling themselves Jews and outsiders Gentiles or Samaritans. That's y u have some people calling themselves believers n others kaffirs. Go and read Yoruba history. It is the same. Awori abuses Egun. Ife abuses Osogbo. Its normal and I doubt if it can ever be fully stopped. Its a cultural thing and the church is doing. well to reduce its glaringness. When you cross the line which is unacceptable is when you start killing them. As for that of the schools, it is normal for outsiders to abuse indigenes because most of those outsiders for them to get to the level they r must be highly exposed because of migration but that does not mean they might even have a college of education not to talk of University in their village. So Op, go n sleep. Afam4eva: What the Op has said about the intra tribal divisions is true but it's not peculiar to just Igbos. If you complain of an impending division in Biafra then what is the basis of Nigeria remaining a country when the divisions are worse than anything that can come out of Biafra. is nice having most your views here...but the truth is that most of u havent lived in this part of the world for long or probably dont seem to notice them....my write up is not about bi*fran state or whatever but the some corrective ills in the society which has no basis for justification....or if u think it has basis then answer some of these questions: 1)since some of you said is cultural then i ask ; do we continue to kill twins bc is cultural in some places 2)do we continue to maltreat 'osu' people just bc is cultural in some places? 3)do we continue to exile young gals bc they're ogbanje? as our cultures change so as our mentality is supposed to change...lets rally together and build a stronger society thats all my point. |

I have over the years lived my life and made all my travels between Abuja,Ebonyi and Abia states not until it was time for me to enter university when i secured admission at UNN..my first week in UNN was so exciting and i have been quite enjoying myself especially with new persons from other parts of south east, then i used to think that since all south easterners are igbos that there is no difference between us as a people but my thoughts were caught short when i started hearing a whole lots of negative comments and un-appealing statements about NSUKKA people esp by the Anambra folks in my room that one of the guys from NSUKKA threatened the guy that he was going to report him to the authorities and that many persons have been punished in school for doing that...these things kept on that many persons from NSUKKA deny their origin especially those from Enugu-ezike axis. fast forward to when i crossed over to Enugu campus, here u have a more mixture of several persons from south east...truth is that Enugu city remains like the best and most developed eastern capital(not arguable)...here i noticed a more sharp division within the state where an udi person gets offended when u call him/her an Nsukka person and all that with the argument that NSUKKA people are timid and naive...but these i tried analyzing but couldnt decipher. Not just this u will start but several other things where by Anybody from Ebonyi is regarded automatically as being from Abakaliki and up till now most folks in northern igbo dont still know that Ebonyi was created from Enugu(Abakaliki division) and Abia(Afikpo division).Anybody who's from Abakaliki is regarded as 'nwa-aba' derogatorily. Then i began to ask myself what sought of tribe the igbo is because in all these the hate which they display amongst themselves and abuse is so heavy that u will start even examining your conscience whether actually u folks are of same tribe.. this i bring up for the ignorant folks who think Bi*fra will solve therir problem.. mind you that this will further bring more divisions as Anambra people even see themselves differently from other igbos, thinking they all have the right to insult others and get away with it.And have come to realise that most hate against other tribes and abuse mainly come from Anambra folks(though not all)...am not writing this piece to spite any people but rather to address this ill in our society we need to show tolerance and acceptance to people...and thats why i have come to notice that igbos of Abia, Imo and Ebonyi origin are easier to deal with not because they cant ferment trouble but for the fact that there is nothing good in discord. Wagasigiungu: Doctors and their ever defensive stance. So anyone who speaks I'll of Drs is a bad-belle who wanted to study medicine but couldn't either cos he couldn't make the pre-requisite scores In Jamb or he was withdrawn from medical school? Bullshit!!!! Cos u r a Dr doesn't necessarily mean u r exceptionally brilliant or better than other professionals. U just need an average intelligence, dedication and hard work, to study medicine. I think this is the same quality u need to succeed in other professions. So please drop dat attitude once & for all jor. SMH bros is not about anybody who criticizes doctors...but about the hate in them doing it not just for a critique per say but to spite it.. am sure the lady i quoted has never been to any Nigerian hospital to see hw things work...doctors work with equipment but they're not the ones who take charge of them but rather the nurses whom the doctors depend on to use them and if they dont bring them the doctor in question is practically incapacitated to do anything lets take for an instance an accident victim that needs oxygen, assuming the nurse doesn't bring the cylinder do u tink the doctor can practically do anything? all am saying is that we should apply common sense why trying to criticize and not just for the sake of criticizing. |

TruthTella: Calm down. Times are hard in the country. You can't blame Nigerian youth for trying to get money while serving afterall they have no assurance of getting a job after NYSC. Besides Ebonyi government had the option of rejecting excess corpers if they didnt have the money to pay them, the corpers can be posted to other states instead. Rather, they keep employing corpers because many full time non corper doctors are running away from the state because of the rural nature of the place and their diarrhea causing water. Nobody is forcing them to accept every single medical corper that applies to serve in Ebonyi.
Delta pays 82k to medical corpers? You must be having a laugh. At the emboldened..u are no longer been mature in your argument as u are employing sarcastic approach instead of healthy argument. hope u know every state in Nigeria is made up of at least 80% rural area except may be their capital city and few other towns which is applicable to any state and too Ebonyi have got nice water if u dont know can u MENTION ur state lets know if its like dubai.....stop engaging in unhealthy argument.. |

Uncleodi: By reducing the number of Medical corpers that lobby to be posted to Ebonyi.
Because Ebonyi was paying 130k, abt 50 doctors will get posted to Ebonyi and another 250 will redeploy from other states and head to Ebonyi! If na u be the governor, u go pay? Meanwhile Delta State that is an oil producing state will have just 60 to 70 corper doctors.
U pple caused it via ur mass exodus.
If all states would agree to pay a flat rate say 82k as Delta does, there won't be madness to serve in Ebonyi. QED! best of all response my guy.....u just addressed it completely |

No wander Abubakar Shakau named president Buhari their kingpin & presented him for negotiation on their behalf during former president Goodluck Jonathan administration. This is an eyes opener to Ndigbo that the civil war has never ended in the mind of the Northernans specifically Buhari of Daura. If federal high court can grant Nnamdu Kanu unconditional release & Buhari used his detectoral anarchy & incarcerate him back, this is pure hatred & war against Igbos. Where is the integrity & rule of law Buhari promised Nigerians during his campaign? Judiciary is no longer the last hope of a common man. Buhari has turned this country into khakistocracy. |
