i think gov dave umahi will do well if he so wishes bc he has a firm grip on the state and determines whatsoever happens without any god-father nonsense.
paying salaries on time is a welcome development but transforming Ebonyi Agricultural sector and mining of the huge solid minerals in the state will help the state more in economic development
learnt Ebonyi was among the first 10 Nigerian state with highest internal generated revenue in the whole country as for 2014, coming second after Enugu in the south east...if the governor can factor into good use of these resources am sure Ebonyi can be able to sustain itself without federal allocation

No wahala...this will remain an allegation as long as we care

This money is nothing compared to the trillions stolen from the Niger Delta by successive regimes headed by strangers - Gowon, Murtala, Obasanjo, Shagari, Buhari, IBB, Abacha, Abdulsalami, Obasanjo and Yar Adua - Tinubu, Amaechi, etc

The Nigerian state must first return all the loot from the Niger Delta before we see any wrong in the purported looting of the treasury by the owners of the wealth.

How can I steal from myself. It's our oil money, anyone who does not like that should deal with it.

Buhari should be invited for the looting of the treasury - 20bn dollars + 300,000 dollars + 850,000,000 naira.

Anyone who thinks otherwise should come and get Tompolo and will be drowned in the same oil that feeds Nigeria.

If Fashola can rob Lagos in daylight and still be hailed as a messiah, then Tompolo and other accused from the Niger Delta are God sent saints.
SEE THIS SYCOPHANT....BC THE OTHER LEADERS WHERE BAD TOMPOLO SHOULD BE LEFT ALONE WHILE YOUR NIGER DELTA KEEPS WALLOWING IN ABJECT POVERTY AND LAND DEGRADATION....I PITY SOME OF U SO CALLED NIGER DELTANS(SORRY TO SAY THIS..UNA NO GET SENSE)...SO TELL ME NOW DASUKI IS ALSO A NIGER DELTAN WHO IS BEEN PROSECUTED?

FROM WHAT I CAN OBSERVE IN 'CORRUPTION---NIGERIA AS A CASE STUDY----IGBOS ARE THE LEAST CORRUPT NIGERIANS WHO ONLY WORK HARD FOR THEIR MONEY AND HAVE NO F*CKING BIZ STEALING FROM NIGERIA

I HAIL THE IGBO BC THE TRIBE IS A HARD WORKING TRIBE UNLIKE SOME OTHER THIEVES FROM SEVERAL PART OF THE COUNTRY WHO ONLY NEED TO STEAL TO GET RICH...WHO WAS TOMPOLO B4 GEJ UNA MOST HIGH THIEF

Romance › Re: Can This Be Seen As An Abomination? by murphyibiam15(m): 10:06pm On Dec 21, 2015
Suigeneris93:
It wasn't love at first sight. I wasn't flattered by his charm and interest in me. I tried to ignore him and turned down his relationship proposal countless times.

I wasn't having any of it - a destined for failure relationship shrouded in secrecy and guilt. A roving fire of passion and lust bound to leave everyone burned out. An abominable liaison - or so I thought.

But he had been relentless, plying me with gifts and acts of kindness, making me change my mind, making my cold broken heart start to beat again.

"No it can't be him!" Common sense had warned my heart. "Anybody else but him."

But my heart proved a traitor when it beat triple time at the sight of him. Common sense was eroded over feelings when the butterflies danced wild in my tummy at the sound of his voice; when my eyes lit up after our first kiss; when I started finding him cute even with his chipped front tooth.

Amor vincit omnia

Does love truly conquer all?

Its been one year since we first met...one year since I first got introduced to the handsome, shy guy who was always washing the family car every morning on my way out. Even then he seemed geeky. The greeting and complimenting as I passed everyday soon became a routine. A routine that had to be broken when he went back to complete his service year after the Easter holidays. It felt sudden the way he left and I was unhappy about it for a few days.

I eventually saw him again at a friend's party a few months later and we continued being friends - like we'd never parted. He, in an uncharacteristic show of emotion later said he liked me and would want us to be more than friends but there was a major setback. I was already going out with someone else - his elder brother.

We could be nothing but friends until his brother went to America to seek greener pastures and forget his past. His past included me.

Now here I am, the spurned lover still grieving the abrupt end of my relationship and b**ching about men being worse than b**ches. But he's trying his best to right a wroong and redeem the male folk in my sight.

This is an abomination, a relationship doomed for failure but I don't care anymore. After all, what is life without its healthy dose of forbidden pleasures? I ask myself as I reply his final proposal with the three-letter ominous word, "Yes."

"Is there anyone you'd like to call?"

A thousand thoughts race through her mind as she holds on to the dining chair, her knees, suddenly seem unable to bear the weight of her rubbery legs.

"Madam? Is there anyone you'd like to call?" He asks again.

She shakes her head in denial, seeing and yet unseeing the three strangers in her dining room. Her grip on the chair shakes as she wobbles on her feet. One man immediately grabs her from behind.

"Take it easy, madam," they chorus as the man helps her to one of the chairs.

They wear a forlorn mien plastered with furrowed frowning faces like people whose inhalation of the putrid smell of stinking fart, affect. Her expression is vacant as she stares back at them, their images so blurring and blending into one another that she thinks it is a dream; a very bad dream that if she shuts her eyes and opens will go away. She does this but the men are still there, staring back at her with solemn faces.

"I'm so sorry..."

The eldest-looking one among them speaks but she cannot understand through the haze that is settling over her soul. She tries to listen to him but deep down she does not believe all he is saying. She does not want to believe it.

He speaks of details that are like a buzz in her brain, of arrangements to be made. But it is all lost on her.

They leave and she is alone in the house she and Nduka rented when they newly got married. The house they had saved for, painted and decorated together. The house they had planned to welcome their child in, together.

She hears her own keening as she collapses on the floor by her front door. Lying on her side, she gathers herself into a ball in defense and denial.

Nduka cannot be dead. He is young and healthy. He is coming home and they are having his favourite soup, ofe onugbu for dinner. Slowly, the words of the men that had left begins to seep into her brain.

...a mistake, the taxi driver hadn't seen him coming.

Crime › Re: Man Rapes 24-year-old Facebook Lover At First Meeting by murphyibiam15(m): 4:15pm On Dec 21, 2015
ORACLE1975:
A 26-year-old man, Taiwo Oluwatobi, has been arrested by the Lagos State Police Command, for allegedly luring his Facebook lover to his house, and raping her.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Oluwatobi had met the 24-year-old victim, identified only as Temitope, on Facebook. He had allegedly lured her to his house in the Alagomeji, Yaba area of the state to collect N15,000, during which he raped her.

It was gathered that the incident happened at the suspect’s friend’s rented apartment on Queens Street, Alagomeji, on Monday, November 30, and the visit was Oluwatobi and Temitope’s first meeting.

It was gathered that the victim, who worked as a printer in the Mushin area, told Oluwatobi, who she reportedly met on Facebook around June 2015, that she needed N15,000 to settle a debt.

The suspect was said to have invited the lady to Alagomeji, to meet each other and also collect the money.

Temitope was said to have arrived at the apartment around 6pm and left at about 8pm, during which Oluwatobi allegedly raped her.

The victim was said to have reported the matter to the Anti-Robbery Squad of the State Department of Criminal Investigation, Yaba.

It was learnt that Oluwatobi, who hails from Ila Orangun, Osun State, was arrested on Tuesday, December 1.

According to the police, the suspect, said to be a graduate of a university in Oyo State, was also a suspected member of the Buccaneers’ Confraternity.

It was gathered that the police also arrested the suspect’s friend, Adenuga Adedayo, in whose apartment the rape allegedly took place.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, Oluwatobi, who worked as a caterer, said he had a consensual sexual intercourse with Temitope, adding that he saw the lady off when she was going back home. He said he was shocked that she reported the sex as rape to the police.

He said, “We met on Facebook some months ago. From Facebook, we began to talk on the telephone. That day was the first time we would meet, and we had a sexual intercourse. She does printing jobs and she stays in the Mushin area.

“She had asked me for N15,000, saying she had a debt she needed to settle. I invited her to my area. After the intercourse, she went to the police to say I raped her. She was the one who told the police that I was a cult member.

“The reason for her coming was that I promised to give her N15,000 to settle someone she owed money. We had sex and at about 8pm, she left. My friend was not at home that time and I see no reason to tell him that somebody visited me.

“I joined the Buccaneers Confraternity when I was in 200-level in the university. I was just a member. After leaving school, I quit the group.”

The friend, Adedayo, from Ijebu Ode, Ogun State, denied any knowledge of the rape, saying he housed Oluwatobi for a week when he (Oluwatobi) said he had a job to do in the area.

He said, “The police accused me of housing a cultist and his girlfriend, but I did not know about the incident. I work in the Apapa area as a teacher. I did not know he is a cultist. He had come to me to assist him with accommodation, as he had a job in our area. That was in the last week of November.”

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, had yet to reply to a text message sent to his phone on the incident.
