HIS DIVINITY:

Muslims believe in the Absolute Oneness of God, Who is a Supreme Being free of human limitations, needs and wants. He has no partners in His Divinity. He is the Creator of everything and is completely separate from His creation, and all worship is to be directed towards Him alone.

This was the same message brought by all prophets of God, including Jesus. He never claimed any qualities of divinity, nor did he claim that he deserved to be worshipped. He did not say that he was the “begotten son” of God or part of the “Trinity”, but rather that he was only a servant of God sent to the Jews to bring them back to the true religion, worshipping One God and following his instruction.

The majority of the verses in the Quran which mention Jesus discuss this aspect. They prove that he was only taken as an object of worship as a result of lies which people invented against him. It confirms accounts of his life where Jesus himself clearly denies that he deserved any worship, and it supports the notion that the parables and examples which God has given showed his mortal nature, not his divinity or filial relationship to God. God narrates of Jesus in the Quran:

Surah 5:72
“They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘God is the Messiah, the son of Mary’ while the Messiah has said, ‘O Children of Israel, worship God, my Lord and your Lord...’”
God says about the belief that Jesus is part of a “Trinity”:

Surah 5:73-75
“They have certainly disbelieved who say, ‘God is the third of three.’ (Rather) there is none worthy of worship except One (God). And if they do not desist from what they are saying, there will surely afflict the disbelievers among them a painful punishment. So will they not repent to God and seek His forgiveness? And God is Forgiving and Merciful. The Messiah (Jesus), son of Mary, was no more than a Messenger before whom many Messengers have passed away; and his mother adhered wholly to truthfulness, and they both ate food (as other mortals do). See how We make Our signs clear to them; and see where they are turning away!”

And also, surah 4:171
“O People of the Book (Jews and Christians)! Do not exceed the limits in your religion, and attribute to God nothing except the truth. The Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was only a Messenger of God, and His command that He conveyed unto Mary, and a spirit from Him. So believe in God and in His Messengers, and do not say: ‘God is a Trinity.’ Give up this assertion; it would be better for you. For God is indeed (the only) One God. Far be it from His glory that He should have a son. To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and in the earth. And God is sufficient for a guardian.”
God deems this belief as an enormity against His Essence:

Surah 19:88-93
“And they say: ‘The Most Merciful (God) has taken (for Himself) a son.’ Assuredly you utter a hideous thing, whereby almost the heavens are torn, and the earth is split asunder and the mountains fall in ruins; That they ascribe unto the Most Merciful a son, when it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Merciful that He should take a son. There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes unto the Most Merciful as a slave.”

On the Day of Judgment, Jesus again will free himself from this false attribution. God gives us a glimpse of what he will say when he is asked about why people worshipped him:

Surah 5:116-117
“And (beware the Day) when God will say, “O Jesus, Son of Mary, did you say to the people, ‘Take me and my mother as deities besides God?’” He will say, ‘Exalted are You! It was not for me to say that to which I have no right. If I had said it, You would have known it. You know what is within myself, and I do not know what is within Yourself. Indeed, it is You who is Knower of the unseen. I said not to them except what you commanded me – to worship God, my Lord and your Lord…’”

In these verses, God proclaims that ascribing to Jesus the attribute 'son of God' or 'part of a Trinity' is indeed a great blasphemy. The reason for this returns to the key fundamental assertion that God is Unique and unlike any of his creation; as well as in His Essence, He is Unique in His Divinity, His Attributes and His Lordship.
All of the above make up the strict monotheism which He revealed in His Scriptures, from them the first of the Ten Commandments:

Exodus 20:1-3
“I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.”
Ascribing a son to God is in clear opposition to that principle for which He created the Creation and sent prophets. God says in the Quran:
Surah 51:56
“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.”

He also said: surah 16:36
“And We certainly sent into every nation a messenger, (saying), ‘Worship God and avoid all false objects of worship…’”

HIS MISSION:
As discussed earlier, the Quran clearly affirms that Jesus was a prophet, as well as the fact that he was no more than that. Prophets are indeed the best of creation. They are those whom God chooses to receive His revelation, yet at the same time, they are mere emissaries of God and do not deserve to receive worship. Jesus, as mentioned in the Quran, is no different than any of them in this respect.
Throughout the Quran, Jesus is identified fundamentally as a prophet of God sent to the Jews who had over time deviated from the teachings of Moses and other messengers.

Surah 61:6
“And (remember) when Jesus, son of Mary, said: ‘O Children of Israel, I am the Messenger of God sent to you, confirming the Torah (which came) before me...’”
Jesus Christ, the son of Mary, was the last in the line of Jewish prophets. He lived according to the Torah, the Law of Moses, and taught his followers to do likewise.

In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus stated:
“Think not that I have come to abolish the law and the (way of) the prophets; I have come not to abolish them but to fulfill them.”
In this aspect, he and his message was no different than the previous prophets chosen by God, who all called to the worship of God and God alone, as well as to obedience to His commandments. As he was miraculously supported by God in his conception, birth, and childhood, he was also supported by numerous miracles to prove that he was a messenger from God. However, the majority of the Jews rejected his prophethood.
Not only did Jesus affirm the scriptures revealed before him, but he also foretold of another prophet to come after him. God says:
Surah 61:6
“And when Jesus, son of Mary, said: ‘O Children of Israel! Indeed I am the messenger of God unto you, confirming that which was (revealed) before me in the Torah, and bringing good tidings of a messenger who will come after me, whose name is the Praised One.’”
This fact is also mentioned in the New Testament. Careful study shows that Jesus, peace be upon him, refers to the same prophet in John 14:16-17:
“And I will give you another Counselor (the Prophet Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him), to be with you forever, even the Spirit of Truth.”

However, Thursday, 24th November, 2016 remains the commencement date for other states of the federation.

Be focused: There are several challenges ahead, don’t get derailed. Dream big and plan towards achieving your dream. Surely, you will be distracted at one point or the other, don’t lose focus; remember it is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light. Be industrious: The reality is that not all of you passing out today will get a job from our economy. Don’t wait for opportunities, create one for yourself. The NYSC scheme understand the challenges of our economy, thereby arming you with soft skill to survive in live. Develop the skill you learn during the past one year, be creative about it and start up something to contribute to the society. My brother, don’t wait for what the nation will do for you, consider what you will contribute to your growing economy.

Be Responsible: Throughout the years of your existence, probably someone has been responsible for part of your sustenance. Don’t pass out to become a burden to your family and society, take charge of your life. Jim Rohn said it all: you must take personal responsibility. You cannot change the circumstances, the seasons, or the wind, but you can change yourself. That is something you have charge of”.

Take charge: Just don’t wait for what will happen to you, take charge of your life. Plan, process and proceed. Your future starts now, your ability to make decisions now and not wait for instruction makes speak loud. Your life is in your hand.

Don’t give up: Always remember this point, irrespective of what you will come across, “Don’t Give up”. Those who succeed greatly today tried several times before achieving success, keep on trying to get better in life. Be a good ambassador: You have just been endorse as an ambassador of this country, you have successfully completed the learning curve of understanding what we stand for. *_18: Make your marriage policy this: if you notice something attractive in an opposite sex, replicate it with your spouse. Examples are buy the dress, sew the style, tell your spouse politely to learn/cook the food, etc that you see and love elsewhere._*

*_19: Always count the cost of adultery, don't just look at the pleasure, look at the pain, loss of integrity, how you will hurt your wife/­husband, children, friends and above all GOD the almighty._*

*_20: Always remember that the enjoyment, pleas­ure and the thrills that is in sex is just for few seconds or minutes, it can not be more than that but its repercussions can last for eternity. Why trading eternity for few seconds, is there wisdom in that?_*

The dignity of government is not enhanced by scaring people, but by making them feel safe and respected, preventing injustice, corruption and ensuring that the weak have their rights.
Thus, the powerful will be deterred and the weak will be safe.
People will thus feel that the state/country is their means of protection, rather than what they need to be protected from.
They will support their strong and just President/Governors/Senators/Reps. and co. so that they will be safe.

A day will definitely come when every soul shall account for his/her deeds, and God will never do injustice with His servants.

In what you leave, their share is a fourth, if you leave no child; but if you leave a child, they get an eighth; all after payment of legacies and debts. If the man or woman whose inheritance is in question, has left neither ascendants nor descendants, but has left a brother and or a sister, each one of the two gets a sixth; but if more than two, they share in a third; all after payment of legacies and debts; so that no loss is caused (to any one). Thus is it ordained by God; and God is All-Aware, Most Forbearing.

Quran4:176
They ask you for a legal decision. Say: God directs (thus) about those who leave no descendants or ascendants as heirs. If it is a man that dies, leaving a sister but no child, she shall have half the inheritance. If (such a deceased was) a woman, who left no child, her brother takes her inheritance. If there are two sisters, they shall have two-thirds of the inheritance (between them); if there are brothers and sisters, (they share), the male having twice the share of the female. Thus does God make clear to you (His law), lest you err. And God has knowledge of all things. The “provision for making a will before death provides a special opportunity for the dying person to correct any possible imbalance that he or she might foresee and perceive in the application of the specific inheritance rules and to accommodate special considerations for his or her near relatives who are disadvantaged or for other poor people he or she may have in mind. The law of inheritance prescribed by the Quran also provides for making a special accommodation for the needs of the poor, including poor relatives” [2] at the time of inheritance distribution:

Quran4:7-8 Men shall have a share in what parents and kinsfolk leave behind, and women shall have a share in what parents and kinsfolk leave behind, whether it be little or much – a share ordained [by God]. And when at the time of distribution (of inheritance), relatives, orphans, and the needy are present, give them (out of the property) and speak to them kindly.”

Surah Al-Anaam, Verse 108:

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four
wives. He love 4th wife the most and adorned her with
rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He
gave her nothing but the best. He also loved the 3rd wife
very much and was always showing her off to
neighboring kingdoms. However, He feared that one day
she would leave him for another. He also loved his 2nd
wife.
She was his confidant, and was always kind, considerate
and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem,
He could confide in her, and she would help him get
through the difficult times.

The King's 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made
great contributions in maintaining his wealth and
kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although
she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her! One
day, the king fell ill and he knew his time was short. He
thought of his luxurious life and wondered, "I ! now have
four wives with me, but when I die, i'll be all alone. "Thus,
he asked the 4th wife, "I have loved you most, endowed
you with the finest clothing and showered great care over
you. now that i'm dying, will you follow me and keep me
company?"

"No way", replied the 4th wife, and she walked away
without another, her answer cut like a sharp knife right
into his heart.

The sad king then asked the 3rd wife, "I have loved you
all my life. now that i'm dying,will you follow me and keep
me company?"
"No way", replied the 3th wife, "Life is too good! When u
die, I'm going to remarry!" His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife. "I have always turned to you
for help and you have always been there for me. when i
die. will you follow me and keep me company? "I'm sorry.
i can.t help you out this time!", replied the 2nd wife. At the
very most, I can only send to your grave." He answer
came like a bolt of lightning, and the King was devastated.

Then the voice come out: "I will leave with you and follow
you no matter where you go". The King looked up and
there was his 1st wife. She was so skinny as she suffered
from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the King
said. "I should have taken much better care of you when I
had the chance!"

In truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives:

Our 4th wife is
our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish
in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When
we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how
much they have been there for us, the furthest they can
stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of
wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our
soul is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go.

.......So I got a lift & d driver was only going half way my destination, it started raining heavily & I spent d whole journey (about 30 minutes) worrying over how I was going to get wet, how my books and laptop will be soaked in the rain, through out dat time period I neva had any moment of peace & behold we got to d point I was supposed to drop and wait to get a taxi, not a single drop of rain fell there. At that point I realized I was only worrying about wot I have no idea was going to happen, something I don't even have control over. Worry not about the future, it lies in the hands of the uncreated creator of the creation

Ben Murray-Bruce The Price of Rice and the Price of Life! Recently, the price of a bag of rice was increased to 19,000 Naira. This is coming at a time when the national minimum wage is 18,000 Naira. This got me thinking. How does a man earning 18,000 Naira feed his family when a bag of rice costs more than his monthly salary? How does he clothe his children. How does he educate his children? We all know that the economy has been negatively impacted by the fall in the price of oil, however, in a country with little or no social security from the government, the drastic fall in the value of the Naira and the astronomic rise in the price of food stuff is resulting in severe economic hardship for the Nigerian worker. So, what is the solution? How do we ease the burden on the millions of minimum wage workers in Nigeria? The only solution lies in increasing spending on infrastructure and other capital projects that will create opportunities for Nigerians to start small and medium scale enterprises. Power, good roads, an efficient rail system, potable water are some of the infrastructure that will enable Nigerians convert their creativity into enterprise. But how can we increase spending on infrastructure in an era of reducing revenue? The truth is that with our economy contracting and Nigeria officially in recession, we can no longer afford to maintain a huge and expensive government. To find the money to develop our infrastructure, we must scale down the cost of governance. Do we need 36 ministers? Do we need 36 states? Do we need 36 state assemblies? Do we need embassies and high commissions in every other country? Nigeria is spending too much money maintaining a big government that is quite frankly a luxury in these lean times. The 2016 budget provides for just 1.75 Naira for capita expenditure while 4.1 trillion is allocated to Recurrent expenditure and debt servicing. Recurrent spending is 2 and a half times what we budget for capital projects. This is not the fault of President Buhari or the APC. This is a fault with the system. Can we really afford to keep borrowing to pay the salaries of politicians and civil servants when a bag of rice costs 19,000 Naira which is more than the minimum wage of 18,000? Can we really afford to spend 60% of our budget on recurrent expenditure with very little left for capital expenditures when our population is exploding at a rate of over 4% annually? In this era of change, we have to accept that we either change Nigeria or Nigeria will change into something that we do not like! We either direct the change in a positive direction or the change will happen sporadically and direct us in a negative direction. Instead of embassies and high commissions in almost all nations, we can have embassies and ambassadors with concurrent accreditation in a sub region or in neighboring nations. Instead of 36 state assemblies, why don't we have 6 assemblies representing the 6 geo-political zones? Instead of 36 ministers representing the 36 states, why don't we have 12 ministers, 2 from each geo-political zones? These reforms, if implemented, will reduce the amount spent on our politicians and our bureaucracy thereby freeing up funds to be expended on capital projects which will have a greater impact on the man earning 18,000 Naira to give him a fighting chance at survival. If we do not change we only need to look at Venezuela, an oil producing nation like Nigeria, that imports petrol, like us, and now is in a state of crisis which may be our fate if we refuse to learn from them.
