Buhari has been a GOC,pioneer chairman of NNPC,Minister of petroleum, head of state,Chairman of PTF and so many other top positions. Buhari does not have a house in Lagos or Abuja,he has only two houses,a modest one in Kaduna and another in his village daura which he inherited from his father. Gen Buhari does not own a filling station not to talk of an oil well.the first lady by her asset declaration is far richer than Buhari not to talk of her husband, both of whom have not half the positions Buhari has held.some commissioners, house of assembly members, local govt chairmen are richer than buhari not to talk of Sinators,Representathieves,Govs,Ministers etc, this are the same people than want the status quo to be maintained,so the can continue to steal with impunity, how can GEJ do in 4yrs what his party could not do in 12,lets not be so gullible and fool ourselves or allow them to take ur for a ride again. Wouldn't u be happy to see those theiving politicians behind bars, light, rule of law etc, vot Buhari-Bakare |

Jega is incompetent or corrupt or both, its his duty to ensure that INEC and by extension the Nigerian populace are not short changed. And who says we shouldnt blame and call Jega names yet cos its just voters reg,how myopic. Voters Registration is part of the election,an integral part at that. We cant have a credible election without a credible voters register. I just pray that the slow pace of the registration as a result of Jega's incometence or greed or both will not disenfranchise alot of Nigeria so that they can chase the hooligans in power. And i hear he is pondering asking for more money, that better be a joke, cos as things stand, the worlds most expensive election is turning out to be one of the worlds worst,May God help us #RSVP #Rig2011ElectionsAndUDieAPainfullDeath |
biggy87:Buhari is the answer,i know it, you know it but just wont admit. Buhari is the answer. Mark me words you will regret voting for the clueless, incompetent and corrupt GEJ #RSVP #Rig2011ElectionsAndYouDieAPainfullDeath |
At the risk of sounding like a pessimist, i think Jega's tenure will be worse than iwu's. |
Jega, did your thieving a*s also award contract for soap and water? |
Its the height of ingratitude for INEC to blame corpers for the very poor voters' registration. its very unfair and mischievous to say that most Nigerian graduates cant operate computers, Is it not this same corpers that get jobs in banks and other places where they use computers for their work.how many Nigerian graduates have ever seen Linux talk less of using it. If INEC had given them adequate training they'd have been able to perform much better, even as it is now they are trying considering their unfamiliarity with Linux. The youth corpers didn't award contracts for the machines, they didn't fix dates and even organize their training, they didn't choose the polling units and other logistics,INEC did all those things, why wont they own up and address the problems rather than heaping the blame on poor youth corpers who have put themselves in danger, and have inconvenienced themselves just so we can have a free and fair election to elect leaders of our choice. Also the reports about DDCs getting missing and then reappearing with 100ds of names raises my fear that the Nigerian people might have been conned by Jega and co, If at all the registration is biometric, then we need not be worried cos even if there are multiple registrations on the standalone DDCs now,the multiple registration will be taken care of by the time the data is compiled in one single database. But if after making people go through the excruciating task of scanning ten fingers and they are not able to detect multiple registrations, then the curses from the Nigerian populace will befall them, they, their families and cronies will never know and see peace in their lives since they don't want us to have peace by not giving us a credible election. I used to hold Jega in very high esteem, but not anymore, he is a crook like all the rest. After spending N87bn this is what he can come up with, after taking so much time 'screening' contractors this is what he can come up with. After spending so much money he decided to get free OS which is somewhat too technical to the registration officers. The huge kickbacks he and his cohorts collected from that magnanimous sum, they'll never spend it in peace,if at all they cheated the Nigerian people, they'll forever live with a troubled conscience. DDC Machines - Zinox Deploys 74 Workers to INEC Emmy Nweke 17 January 2011 Zinox Technologies has deployed 74 supporting staff to ensure that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) succeeds in the on-going voters' registration using the Direct Data Capture (DDC) machines nationwide. It would be recalled that the exercise commenced last Saturday, with DDC machines which are running on Linux operating system supplied by a different company. Computer experts, however, attributed the slowness of the machines to the kind of operating system. An operating system (OS) is an interface between hardware and user, which is responsible for the management and coordination of activities and the sharing of the resources of a computer, that acts as a host for computing applications run on the machine. While Linux is an operating system that was initially created as a hobby by a young student, Linus Torvalds, at the University of Helsinki in Finland. Linus had an interest in Minix, a small UNIX system, and decided to develop a system that exceeded the Minix standards. Linus began his work in 1991 when he released version 0.02 and worked steadily until 1994 when version 1.0 of the Linux Kernel was released. The kernel, at the heart of all Linux systems, is developed and released under the General Public License (GPL) and its source code is freely available to everyone. It is this kernel that forms the base around which a Linux operating system is developed. According to the Group Corporate Communication Advisor, Zinox Technologies, Mr. Echika Ezuka, the deployment of 74 supporting staff to aid INEC was simply an act of patriotism as that was not part of the contract to supply 80,000 DDC machines which was completed mid-last week. He explained that Zinox had displayed two IT engineers for each of the 36 States and Abuja. "These 74 support personnel were not part of the contract but a gesture from Zinox to ensure that the DDC technology does not overwhelm the INEC operatives," he said. Ezuka said that Zinox has caused to be published full page color advertisements in all national dailies designed to give vital tips to voters with graphic details on the DDC machines beginning from today, Monday, January 17, 2011. He said the DDC machines; the technology backbone for the exercise had a shaky start in some areas due to the inability of INEC personnel to install the machines properly. "The first problem was related to the capacity of INEC personnel to install the equipment properly. In most places the personnel adopted a trial and error strategy that was time wasting and frustrating," he said. He said the problem was related to slow finger scanning arising from the way that INEC calibrated its software to achieve high quality finger print, stressing that INEC has given its word that both problems would be fully addressed in shortly. #RSVP #Rig2011ElectionsAndYouDieAPainfullDeath |
If you love corruption and backwardness and a spendthrift govt that spends money with nothing to show for it, vote for Jonathan Goodluck. If you hate corruption as a progressive and want total eradication and instilling of discipline in Nigerians, vote for Gen Buhari. If you want favoritism, selective justice, witch hunting and doubled standards then vote Ribadu. the choice is yours, make a wise choice, make the right choice and you'll be glad you did #RSVP #Rig2011ElectionsAndYouDie |

Mobinga why are you over pricing the 'DDC'? if i enter computer village i can get low end computer better than the one inec is using = 50000 webcam = 1500-2000 the printer they are using cannot be more than = 15000-18000 finger print scanner = 5000 cos i think tthhey supplied the lowest grade so now if i go china to get it directly from OEMs it would be even lower and INEC/Jega/ZINOX are giving us N266,000,God will punish them, they will never see peace since they dont want us to see peace. |
INEC Deploys DDC Machines in 20 States Despite the obstacles that have bedevilled preparations for voter registration, the Indepen-dent National Electoral Commission (INEC) seems set to press on with the exercise with the deployment of the direct data capture (DDC) machines in the states. THISDAY learnt at the weekend that already, the commission has also deployed 2500 units of the DDC machines in Borno State, and another 1000 units in Yobe State. An official of INEC informed the newspaper that "at least 20 out of the 36 states of the federation will receive the machines this week". The registration exercise, which is generally seen as the first critical step towards credible elections, has been facing legal and logistical obstacles. Just last week, Justice Ibrahim Auta of the Federal High Court, Abuja, lifted the order stopping the award of the contract for the supply of the DDC machines following a case filed by a Nigerian company. When the first batch of the machines arrived two weeks ago, it was discovered that some of them had been stolen at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos. Meanwhile, THISDAY has confirmed that Zinox Technology, one of the contract awardees, has so far imported over 40,000 units of the machines into the country. This is part of the 80,000 units awarded to it by INEC at the cost of $1771.73 per set, comprising a laptop, webcam, and printer. Also, over 2000 units of the machines have been delivered to the INEC head office at the Zambezi Crescent, Maitama, Abuja. THISDAY reports authoritatively that the 2000 units of the DDC machines are kept at the INEC back store behind the main building. "One of the companies that won the contract is leaving up to the details of the contract. The company has so far supplied up to 40,000 units of its 80,000 units," the source said. A Zinox Technology official who confirmed the deployments of the DDC machines in the states, Achika Ezuka, told THISDAY: "Indeed Zinox has commenced the delivery of the DDC machines to the INEC head office and INEC state offices." He said the company was initially frustrated by the court order that restrained INEC from awarding the contracts, explaining that following the vacation of the court order, the deployments of the machines in the states commenced immediately. Ezuka confirmed that Zinox was confident that it would meet the deadline of supplying the 80,000 units of the DDC machine latest by January 5 2011, as the registration of voters is expected to commence on January 15, 2011. When THISDAY asked him when other contractors would supply their allocations, he said that he could not say but expressed optimism that they would all beat the deadline. According to the INEC source, the DDC machines came directly from China where the units are being assembled. Most of the original equipment manufacturers (OEM) worldwide such as Dell, Acer, Toshiba, HP, Apple, etc, get up to 95 per cent of their hardware made in China where the cost of production is considerably lower than in Europe and America. INEC had in November this year signed the contracts with three OEMs to supply the DDC machines for the voter registration. Haier Electrical Appliances Corporation is to supply 30,000 units at $1699.60 per unit and Avante International Techno-logy, 22,000 units at $1699.60 per unit. The first batch arrived the Lagos airport at about 1am on Monday, December 6, 2010 aboard a chattered Boeing 747 Aircraft. http://www.3gnigeria.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=211:inec-deploys-ddc-machines-in-20-states&catid=36:news Zinox is the conduit pipe for jega and other corrupt Govt officials. |
