Had similar experience 2016...I thought someone had access to my card. Called the bank to block my card because I was in ghana then . When I came back to nig asked for a bnk statement..I saw several transactions on my acct even after asking Dem to block the acct. There was an inflow/outflow of cash upto 5m. Meanwhile I had only 600k. My closing balance was now 180k for past 3yrs
. The bank's excuse was that it was all my charges I had incurred using their card internationally. Omo tire.

In actual fact, they will never feed the prisoners with 1k. The prison officials are the ones that embezzle most of the money and cook unappealing meals for the prisoners. I have visited a major prison with an NGO I once worked with. This also applies to NYSC (talking from my personal experience)...they serve disgusting meals at the nysc camps even with the N650 per Corp member. It’s the state nysc officials that share the foodstuffs and money after camp ends. So they are not really kicking for the betterment of Corp members as regards feeding in camps but for their own selfish interest. It’s sad.

Nigeria has suffered from oil dependence since the 60s or thereabout. Over the years, we have relegated agriculture, and other forms of revenue (such as taxation) to the background. In fact, national development was funded from oil proceeds. It was not strange that the United States would romance the Obasanjo administration immediately after years of military rule, beginning barely uninterrupted from 1983.

The reason why Buhari is never to blame for the mess we are in is because over the years, we have relied on oil revenues, far more than we relied on other revenue sources like agriculture and taxation.

Now, when there was a slump in global oil price in the 2014-15 period, we were also battling insurgency, poverty, and unemployment. Buhari came in to meet all these things. When the price slumped again in 2018, the economy had only begun to register post-recession growth. And then the discovery of oil in the United States means we lost a large market, as the United States no longer need our oil.

If previous governments starting from Obasanjo had combated the oil dependence, a mere slump in oil price will not turn a whole giant of Africa into a borrower.

Now the government has no other means of sustaining the economy other than by borrowing and heavy taxation.

You still don’t get my point bro. I am not disputing the fact that Nigeria has been heavily dependent on oil which is really annoying. Yes, the foundation is really faulty but the point is Buhari was just after being “president”. Yes there was a mild recession when he came into office, but look at the situation of the country now. Nigeria has nose-dived further into the worst economic situation ever in history and it’s going to get worse because the leaders don’t even know what exactly to do. There is no one steering the boat. It’s not about a party but the leader(s). In a saner clime, he would have stepped down. You and I know he will leave this country in 2023 in a much worse state.

A better approach would have been to invite the young intern, disclosed to him/her how he/she could have lost the opportunity because of said error. I disagree. Any adult who uses “am” instead of “I am” can never change. I’m telling you this from experience. You can try this yourself: look out for people who make such grammatical errors. Even if you correct them 100 times, they would still make such mistakes. It’s embedded in them already. I don’t blame the boss anyways. I for one find it irritating when an adult makes such basic errors. What would you teach your child if you are making such basic grammatical blunders??

They are not above regulation height. All they want is the money. If Globacom pays today, the masts will stay. They don’t even have sense to think that dismantling it will amount to a waste of resources and they will even spend to do so. Like you said, forfeiture and reselling is a better option. I can’t just imagine aviation authority charging a telecommunications company this much! Clearance height fee is a thing? Lol. It is well with Nigeria!

There are several sites online you can check for free just that they might not give you the full details, but there are also paid sites where you can get the full history. Just type the VIN in any of the sites and the history of the car will come up. Only foreign used cars by the way.

VIN number is there for you to confirm if the car was accidented or not!!! Why are Nigerians like this?! Even the accidented cars are good after fixing them except if it was a front impact!

My own happens last week, there was this particular dealer who posted his car here in nairaland for sale, so it happened that I have a buyer for the vehicle, I call him and we agreed that he would settle me from the 100k that he tops on the deal.


Not knowing that the owner of the vehicle gave him the vehicle to sale for 1.2m, this guy told me that the owner needs 1.6 +100k for sellers that's 1.7M.




I have to contact my buyer all the way from oyo to buy the vehicle.

After seeing the vehicle, he later paid 1.710m to the guy acc.

This guy gave the owner of the car 1m.
Claiming that his pastor brother that paid for the vehicle, since the owner is also a pastor. He accepted the money 1m.

This guy took 710k to his pocket.

Few hours later, he call me that my buyer has paid for the vehicle ooo that I s forward him my account number. Immediately I forward this guy my account details. This guy blocked all my contacts including in whatsapp where we negotiate every.

I was like going mad.

I have to call him with another number, this was asking me, (guy are you the one that sold the car, what was your efforts, you only help me in br buyer and nothing else. So please stop bothering me) I was shock seeing such write up from human being.

Set him up with another person as a potential buyer, go with one or two other guys to meet him personally! I hate dealers like this, they give us a bad name! He is just too greedy! If you can contact the owner of the car too, let him know he was cheated!
