An agent got me an interview date.
Now I noticed that my name on CGI is
Surname and First name only.

But on my ds160 form and passport, I have three names: Surname, First name and middle name.

It's stated on the page that one should put the the first and middle names inside the first name field. Kindly see attached.

I asked him to change as I couldn't do so on my end.

He says it's not a challenge. That I shouldn't worry.

But I'm concerned. Kindly advise please.

There’s an option to retrieve your ds 160
What this does is to start a fresh application with some pre filled information from your previous DS

After you’re done with this update your new ds 160 number in the cgi site for appointments

In the spirit of giving back here is my POE experience

I chose to travel through newyork because I learnt it’s one of the easiest POEs.

I left for New York about 2 months ago and right from Abuja everything went smoothly

Check in was very easy for me, after that I passed passport control without being sent to ports health. It’s like none of the officials noticed I was even pregnant because I had a very small belly even at 36weeks

Boarded Turkish airlines, arrived in Istanbul and I had a 5 hour transit. Before boarding my plane to New York, there was a thorough check at the boarding gate for everyone. It was still like a breeze for me. Apparently the thorough check is part of US immigration because they checked all our documents.

Arrived at New York in the evening and I barely spent 2 minutes at CBP.

The officer asked me why I’m in the US and I simply said for tourism and to have my baby. She was even shocked because she stood up to check my belly. And she was like you don’t even look pregnant and she smiled.

Then she asked if I had the funds to cover everything I said yes… so she stamped me in for 6 months.

No secondary inspection.

ETT is better, I’m not sure a baby can use visa on arrival
Yes the airline will allow you board with baby‘s us passport and ETT from the Nigerian embassy

You would definitely need your passport for the exam.
You should try schedule the exam before your passport expires or after your passport collection. Also try to fasten your passport collection.

pls mk sure u empty d breast then use amoxillin... I am not sure u ve mastitis.... U r probably suffering from breast engorgement n u will b feelin pains until d breast is empty, if ur baby doesn't feed frm u well... U shld fast so dt ur breast wont b getting full everytime ur baby feed... Den use amoxillin just incase mayb ur breast is infected with mastitis... Breastpad hs nlthin to do wot u hving mastitis thou.... N yes do wat madam omakraids said too.

Thank you Kokaiye for your response, the symptoms I had were that of mastitis oh, fever, chills, pains, breast engorgement, hotness and hardness. I’ve been using erythromycin and ibruprofen and been massaging with palm kernel oil, also used tumeric paste, I’ve also been having hot baths and massaging with hot water. Finally felt some relief this morning, omo it wasn’t funny at all, I don’t wish the pain on my enemy.
The reason why I said breast pad is because I recently changed brands from lansinoh to medela and noticed the pads were always soaked and leaking overnight and from what i read mastitis is caused when bacteria enters the breast from a crack and blocks the milk ducts.

P.S: I already applied at the passport agency but they said they cannot move on without the notary from the US embassy in Nigeria. They turned down the one from the high court in Nigeria

1 Yes you can, just make sure you don’t have any layover in Europe as the plane will not board you since your baby doesn’t have a schenghen visa.
This happened to me personally and I was denied boarding, they had to move me to the next day, direct flight from US to Lagos without any layover. Had to find my way to Abj when I got to lag.

3 I think ours took about 2 to 3 weeks, we used the embassy in Atlanta and also used the expedited process. I think it was longer because we forgot to add a return envelope

Massage the affected breast with warm water. If it's not helping, rub palm kernel oil on the breast to help to help soften it as you massage out the milk.. The time I had a terrible engorgement with sickening fever, it was Palm kernel oil my mum rubbed to soften the boob making massage easier..
After boob un has softened, also ensure baby feeds from it well enough

Please mamas in the house had anyone experienced mastitis before? I just started using this medela breastpad and the absorption is so so poor, I’m suspecting I may have gotten mastitis. I have been having fever but took pcm, serious breast pain on one breast and breast tenderness.

Babies these days are so conscious of food, see serious salivation when we’re eating. I was tempted to start baby cereal and pap when she turned 4 months till i saw a post on weaningiswinning’s page on ig saying the baby’s digestive system isn’t mature enough to process anything other than milk till 6 months. Na just to wait till 6 months

I want to travel on to the US for a week from November 27th to attend the most prestigious academic conference in my field (Artificial Intelligence) and its location changes every year. And I want to know if it's still quite feasible to apply for the needed B-1 visa or if I should save my strength and scrap the plans.

My workshops papers are still under review but if accepted (will.know by Oct. 20), I'll be presenting two research papers at 2 workshops at the conference. I am also invited as a keynote speaker for one of the workshops at the conference. Can I request an expedited appointment slot on this basis?

My profile:
- I am a final-year undergrad in Nigeria
- Previous travels: Italy, Germany, Tunisia - all of them earlier this year, and in the process of getting another Schengen visa to speak at a tech conference in Lithuania in early November.
- Fundings: I'll be funding myself. Might still get a scholarship or something but I won't know until close to the date.

Considering the close timeline, do I still have a a realistic chance of getting an appointment slot/visa in time to go to the US? Looking forward to your responses. Thank you!

Please mamas what do we use to cut our LOs finger nails? I use baby file but the nail grows back longer after 2 days. I tried baby nail cutter from a grooming set and omoh i mistakenly cut her fingers, blood full everywhere.

It depends on the airline she is using and their policy as regards flying pregnant women, some airlines limit it to 28 weeks and some as much as 34 or 35. Airlines like delta and Air France don’t have any restrictions. But if the pregnancy is showing she will need a fit to fly which can be gotten from port health at the airport for a fee, this is applicable for all airlines.

Please I need help. My work date in the US was shifted to a new month because I was not able to get a visa appointment date to meet up with the previous work resumption date and I have already booked appointment with the old date after I had filled the ds-160.
Please how can I edit my ds 160 to fill in the new work date since the old date has passed. If I go for interview with the old resumption date, it will affect me. I need to change it to the new date

Simply retrieve the ds 160 and update your information and then fill in the new ds number in the cgi portal

Please guys when only one parent is coming back to Naija do they need to get a letter of authorization from the father for the baby? Especially if the mum has a different name in her passport or does birth certificate for the baby suffice?

It’s not about claiming holier than thou Oga, will the agent you paid manufacture date from the sky? Isn’t it the same group checking they do and get wind of new dates?
I’ll advise that you should be patient, dates will definitely pop out in good time.

I am applying as F1 with my wife as F2. There is something about her work that has changed but I figured there is no way to update DS-160 ref on the Visa portal for dependent(f2) since we are attending interview together.

Anyone with how to go about this?? Or she can just explain during the interview?

You can retrieve the old ds, fill a new one for her and then call the Us embassy customer care on +23412278955, they can update it for you. Then print another appointment confirmation from the website with the new ds. This is what I did.

1st, my visa expired since 2018 I tried Renewing prior covid but was rejected (during d trump birthing saga) I was asked to bring my Itemized bill. Sorted that from Del sol Medical (Dr Esparati) tried getting an appointment again but unfortunately I got for Dec 2023. Is there a means of getting earlier dates ?

2ndly, I’ve been hearing people say I should be earning money from d govt for my kids. How true or possible is this? Someone even asked I give her their ssn which I declined.

Lastly, we haven’t traveled with d kids to USA since 2017 is there anything like revoking citizenship if d child stays out of the country over a certain period?

I’ll answer the parts I’m really sure of and leave the rest for the experts.
Please don’t give anyone your children’s ssn oh, they’ll use it to collect your kids benefit and even incur loan which will be waiting for them when they grow.
Citizenship by birth is the only type of citizenship that can never be revoked in the US, however you’ll need to renew their passports if it’s been up to 5 years that it was issued, which can be done at the US embassy in Nigeria.

I think you should put your mind at ease and be prayerful for the interview, they have been many cases of prior rejections due to birthing and then subsequent visa granted to same people, just get all your documents in check

Hmmmmmm I was really late in my pregnancy. As per the test, they just checked weight and blood pressure then asked how far i was gone to put it in the certificate

so sorry ur LO is suffering from severe dermatitis called ela in yoruba... Dis tin is induce wen u r using disinfectants likr dettol or other product lik dettol on baby bathing water n baby skin care products dt r mostly produce with chemicals.... Normally mothers r nkot suppose to bath babies with soap n rub dis skincare products on new babies dt r not up to 6weeks old... New baby skin get irritated easily n it bcms inflamed wen u apply dis products on dem... D only safe tin u can apply on baby skin grm 0weeks r shea butter, coconut oil n olive oil n nva put anytin in der bathin water... N moreoba, i dnt knw where oir mothers get d idea of putting dettol or oda disinfectant inside baby water... Baby skin is too delicate 4 all did harsh stuff n using just ordinary water wit no soap wont hurt ur baby... Bsbies r not dirty n dey wont ve body odour as it is bein speculated... Its a pity dt baby ve to use steroid cream to get rid of d ela cs ela can b very stubborn.

4 natural remedy u can get a dry almond leave dt fell on d floor... Wash properly n use it to bath baby... Pls dont give baby to drink abeg n mk sure baby don swallow lw wen usin it to bath baby n get oroginal shea butter to use on baby skin or coconut oil.... Ela is a fungi infectn n fungi n coconut oil r not friends cs it breaks up it barriers n stop fungi frm growing. Or get red calipha leave... It works perfectly too... How to use it is in d pix below... Mind u dont give baby to drink ooo, na God i tk beg u... I aint a fan of steroid cream... Not give 4 anybody... N wen d ela finally clear up, pls dont go bk using all dis fancy baby skin care... Shea butter is enough n wen baby is 6weeks old, get agnesia soap go use 4 bathing.

I doubt they will accept any fit to fly that’s not from the port health so it’s better you just do it at the airport. 30k ke? My hospital even gave me one free of charge.

Please guys my 3 week old started having rashes which has spread so much on her face, neck and now back. We went to have it checked out and the paedaetric says it’s cradle cap (Seborrheic Dermatitis) that went from her scalp to her face and down. It’s really bad and i feel it itches her as well. The dr prescribed some creams and ketoconazole shampoo which we have picked up, but I just need to know if there are any natural remedies we can use.

Used them last month, though their website says they don’t require fit to fly, their personnel at the counter demanded for it (maybe because I was quite heavy). It has to be the fit to fly gotten from the port health which is a pretty must straight forward process.
