The governorship candidate for the Democratic Peoples Party(DPP), Chief Great Ogboru Friday stormed Asaba, Delta State capital for a rally, saying he was not comfortable with INEC’s delay in releasing the voters’ register.

Meanwhile, Ogboru seized the opportunity to debunk claim that he was against the building an airport in Asaba, pointing out that he was only quarreling about the huge capital outlay “in an airport that is costing more than a budget of some states for the 2011 fiscal year”.

INEC has fixed Jan 6 as the date for the rerun election, 57days after the nov 9 benin court judgement when INEC is fully aware that many Deltans dont ve their voters card to vote and many ve turned 18 since the last voters exercise was conducted in the country.
What stops the INEC from conducting the election the first saturday(Feb 5th,2011) after the voters reg. exercise? I smell foul play by INEC, PDP and Uduaghan here?

Dont waste your credentials on just the big schools but also try to apply to some of the good medium schools. the website www.usnews.com can be of help. Sometimes, all your qualifications is just not enough to get an admit into the likes of MIT, Stanford, Princeton, etc because you dont know what they look out for. And about going to Unilag, dont also waste your credentials because I had my first degree in Chemical Engineering there and I dont see why one would prefer a Unilag to say Purdue University or University of Texas Austin, because they are not in the highest leagues of Universities in the US but way better than all the Universities in Africa

Its hard to estimate, transcripts probably cost about 40k, application fees over $1000, GRE and TOEFL over $400. On the whole, I've probably spent over 300k.

I have a friend rounding up his Masters at MIT and that's the much I know from Nsukka.

I've seen the thing about American professors running labs on various university sites. I'm not very sure what it means but does that imply that the lecturer have some space called "Professor X Lab" or "System Y Lab". Anyways, in most good-enough departments in Nigerian universities, there's usually a departmental lab or labs like the ones we had at the EE Dept, UNN and lecturers typically work with the equipments in those labs. Sometimes their work is also purely theoretical thus precluding the need for a lab.

I haven't got any professional work experience in petroleum engineering, so I don't think the NFP is for me. What do you think my chances are for clinching some other forms of scholarships there? what do you think I should start doing now?

for safe schs, try schs not on the top ten/fifteen list, like U of l, UAF,Montana Tech, Kansas, or so forth, Several factors come into play for grad sch admisiion and for pet engr, you want to make sure u r tight on all sides, else, u might just be wasting some good hard earned $$$ Slb is pumping into ur acc.
i hear heriot watt and robert gordon (if u ve d $$) is great esp for experienced people like ur type and its 1yr, so spread ur eggs into canada n europe cos u never can tell,

- come GPA of 3.8/5
- GRE Scores : Q=710, V = 560
- TOEFL iBT = 114/120
- 5 years work experience with Oil service comp.
- Underwent a lot of trainings that covered good portions of the masters curriculum
- Came out top 3 in most of my training courses.
- My LOR is from my training instructors in the US and somes bosses, and I think they are quite good

I am applying to TAMU, University of Tulsa, Okhlahoma University and after reading this thread, Univesity of Houston.

I am a Spring 2011 candidate, Master (Pet Engr) but I am yet to hear from the 2 schools to applied to, My seniors (who finished from one of the schs) advised I wait till Oct ending before writing or calling the School to find out about my status, with one of them saying he accepted his admission for spring2005 around Nov.2004, hence there is time for visa processing stuffs and i should relax. . .
