Toyin and Linda Ikeji messed up big time...May her soul RIP

Another Lesson is that Celebrity should know they have a social capital that can be harnessed for the community good. www.donate-ng.com runs similar campaign for people that needs help but hardly get N1M donations . But the fact taht Toyin came out.. all the Celebrity even Funke Akindele were on Instagram and Twitter canvassing for donation for her. Before you know it, she has raised enough to setup a high tech hospital that can help many cancer patient.

I hope the celebrity take a clue from this. Imagine a Nigeria donation day supported by the celebrities to raise N1Billion naira for setting up to or three kidney/heath surgery clinic... I hope an NGO is thinking out of the box here. This can easily be achieved on donate-ng.com..

Religion / Re: When a government is becoming ungodly: should Christians continue to obey? by myinvest: 6:58pm On Jun 26, 2016
iliyande:
Submit yourselves for the Lord’s sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to the governors, who are sent by him to punish {24} those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men (1 Peter 2:13-15 NIV).

Remind the people to be subject to rulers and authorities, to be obedient, to be ready to do whatever is good, to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and to show true humility toward all men (Titus 3:1-2 NIV).

Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities which exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves (Romans 13:1-2 NIV).

The answer is no.

We are to obey governments unless they violate Scripture. Acts 5:29 says, "We must obey God rather than men." Whenever a government violates biblical teaching, Christians are obligated to disobey that government. For example, if a government were to declare that we should kill all unbelievers or in support abortion, we should disobey. Governments are run by people and often become corrupt. Furthermore, the Bible never tells us to obey governments in contradiction to the revealed word of God.

When systems become ungodly and anti-Christian, they are no longer properly representing God and should not be obeyed.

Are we seeing a conflict or a contradiction? Not at all. Let's take, for example, Exodus 20, where we see two commandments: obey your parents and do not murder. We can see that our parents are the authorities above us, even as governments are, and we should obey them. But, what should we do it our parents tell us to murder someone? Should we obey? Of course not. Obedience to our parents is only proper when it's consistent with the rest of the Scriptures. Likewise, submission to the governmental systems is only proper when it is consistent with Scripture.

Finally, let's look at Rom. 13:6-7 again, "For because of this you also pay taxes, for rulers are servants of God, devoting themselves to this very thing. 7 Render to all what is due them: tax to whom tax is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honor to whom honor." Notice that Paul says that the rulers are servants of God. This is the context of the submission that is mentioned at the beginning of the chapter. If these rulers are no longer servants of God, and if they contradict Scripture, they are not to be obeyed.

I feel like am reading an essay from Boko haram .. Mtwee.. is this not the thinking of Boko-haram, that the govt is not "religious" and they have to take over to establish the rule of 'God'?

It is not strange that people can find verses in the scripture to perpetrate their inner motive.. Finding ways to topple the govt that do not seems to align with there greedy wants... The funny thing is that .. When has Nigeria ever have a Godly govt? or which world leader you want to put on the "Godly scale".. Atleast for the first time in the history of Nigeria, we have an ordain pastor as Vice president..

The funny thing is when Election time comes and men of God come out for elective positions, these are the people that first throw the first stone.. castigating them..
So, bros next time when it is time for election, dust your Voter card and run to the polling booth t vote for a Godly govt rather than wait for the govt to turn Godly after winning the election.

Politics / UK Govt petitioned to Openly Investigate Nigeria Looted Funds In The UK by myinvest: 12:27pm On May 20, 2016
A Nigerian Born UK citizen has opened a petition to the UK to openly investigate stolen funds from Nigeria kept in the UK & their return.

The UK has served as a haven for stolen funds for corrupt Nigerian political officials and their associates since the early 60s. These funds are kept as pseudo assets, bank accounts & properties. In law, the receiver of stolen goods is as guilty as the thief. It is about time the UK does something.

This is open to all UK citizen/residence to sign the petition.

Mosquito nets are the best bet against mosquitoes.

Can malaria really be wiped out in Africa?
Maybe in the next century sha if we work hard at it.

Yes, it can , but having a plan to and proper research. At the moment , the Zika virus is being attacked on all front. the immediate one is a genetically modified Mosquito that cause the Mosquitoes to breed only Males. this is expected to drop the Population drastically.

Also a vaccine is going through 2nd stage testing.

This is because the disease is now consider epidemic..

Do you think there is no mosquito in Europe? Why is there is no malaria?

Health / Re: Today Is World Malaria Day - End Malaria For Good. by myinvest: 10:04am On Apr 25, 2016
While we are here talking and discussion this.. It is important that one of the reason we still have malaria is because of inadequate control. We know what the Bug that causes it do, how they live and breed and also how to prevent them form our homes. But we are not makiing concerted effort to do something about it.

A vaccine is in the Pipeline for Zika virus, also a genetically modified Mosquito is being release to affected region in Brazil to help create infertility in the mosquitoes and in the end breed only Male and no female which actually causes the Zika virus.

All this is within 1 year that it became an epidemic nuisance in Brazil. But why nothing on Malaria with the millions it kills..

The answer is simple, we have not stood for ourself... We think of our family only and forget that the reason you or your family will have malaria is if the other kids in the school or the colleague in the office, or the passengers in the bus , have it and then mosquito can transfer the virus.

Oh, it is for the government to do something, or I have nothing to do.. But really there are many you can do.. There was a campaign to raise money for Mosquito net but it was only able to raise 2,500 from 1 donor?? What a waste.

https://donate-ng.com/project/92

We need to start seeing the bigger picture and giving back to the society. Millions of dollars are raised in Europe and America to send to Africa to help supply Mosquito net, but we that see the menace of this Disease can't give to help the cause..

We can do better thank just talk.

How much is the pay?

He is a Corper! for God sake Pay has nothing to do with it for now. It is a 12Months schemed and you are already 4months into it.. Not much longer to go!

What matter..? Your career, that is what will be with you after the 1year to the the end of your life..

My Advice is :
1) Ask yourself sincerely, am I really being lazy because I am comparing myself to some other corpers in other office? Is it the good tales from other company that is influencing you? Take a deep breath and make sure you are being sincere with yourself.. It is your career that is at sake?

2) Is this the type of work or career path you would like to take? make sure you are not there counting days. If you find the Job interesting, it is your boss that will be asking what time you are going home?

3) Are you finding the job difficult to pick up..? If you having challenges picking up the job routines.. You may want to ask for help on doing your work faster and smarter.. Most time we are trying to use our commonsense on the job, but sometimes there are actually easier and right way to accomplish the task. Speak with the older team mates to help you out.

4) What is the prospect of been retain at the office? No job outside ooo.. And if they retain you .. your CV will read 1 year post NYSC experience even if na 2months you do after. So, check if 2 applies to you.. and if Yes.. then bros, sit down put.

Okay, back to your main question.. CDS is mandatory, the company can not prevent you from attending.. But During my service, I go back to the office after CDS. So you can ask for a compromise on this with the company. But it is your right to go for CDS under the NYSC scheme.

I served in Lagos, but my friends in the other states went to the community to actually impact life during CDS day. it is observe as a no work day.

Health / Renal Failure.. Know The Signs And Symptoms by myinvest: 1:28pm On Apr 15, 2016
An increasing number of people are now being diagnosed with Kidney Disease. Please check out the below to know the symptoms, an earlier diagnosis might help you change some damaging action you are taking and might prolong your kidney for longer.

Symptom 1: Changes in Urination

Kidneys make urine, so when the kidneys are failing, the urine may change. How?

You may have to get up at night to urinate.
Urine may be foamy or bubbly.
You may urinate more often, or in greater amounts than usual, with pale urine.
You may urinate less often, or in smaller amounts than usual, with dark-colored urine.
Your urine may contain blood.
You may feel pressure or have difficulty urinating.
What patients said:

"When you go to use the restroom, you couldn't get it all out. And it would still feel just like tightness down there, there was so much pressure."

"My urine is what I had started noticing. Then I was frequently going to the bathroom, and when I got there, nothing's happening. You think, 'Hey, I've got to go to the john,' and you get there: 2, 3 drops."

"I was passing blood in my urine. It was so dark it looked like grape Kool-Aid. And when I went to the hospital they thought I was lying about what color it was."

Symptom 2: Swelling

Failing kidneys don't remove extra fluid, which builds up in your body causing swelling in the legs, ankles, feet, face, and/or hands.

What patients said:

"I remember a lot of swelling in my ankles. My ankles were so big I couldn't get my shoes on."

"My sister, her hair started to fall out, she was losing weight, but her face was really puffy, you know, and everything like that, before she found out what was going on with her."

"Going to work one morning, my left ankle was swollen, real swollen, and I was very exhausted just walking to the bus stop. And I knew then that I had to see a doctor."

Symptom 3: Fatigue

Healthy kidneys make a hormone called erythropoietin (a-rith'-ro-po'-uh-tin), or EPO, that tells your body to make oxygen-carrying red blood cells. As the kidneys fail, they make less EPO. With fewer red blood cells to carry oxygen, your muscles and brain tire very quickly. This is anemia, and it can be treated.

What patients said:

"I was constantly exhausted and didn't have any pep or anything."

"I would sleep a lot. I'd come home from work and get right in that bed."

"It's just like when you're extremely tired all the time. Fatigued, and you're just drained, even if you didn't do anything, just totally drained."

Symptom 4: Skin Rash/Itching

Kidneys remove wastes from the bloodstream. When the kidneys fail, the build-up of wastes in your blood can cause severe itching.

What patients said:

"It's not really a skin itch or anything, it's just right down to the bone. I had to get a brush and dig. My back was just bloody from scratching it so much."

"My skin had broke out, I was itching and scratching a lot."

Symptom 5: Metallic Taste in Mouth/Ammonia Breath

A build-up of wastes in the blood (called uremia) can make food taste different and cause bad breath. You may also notice that you stop liking to eat meat, or that you are losing weight because you just don't feel like eating.

What patients said:

"Foul taste in your mouth. Almost like you're drinking iron."

"You don't have the appetite you used to have."

"Before I started dialysis, I must have lost around about 10 pounds."

Symptom 6: Nausea and Vomiting

A severe build-up of wastes in the blood (uremia) can also cause nausea and vomiting. Loss of appetite can lead to weight loss.

What patients said:

"I had a lot of itching, and I was nauseated, throwing up all the time. I couldn't keep anything down in my stomach."

"When I got the nausea, I couldn't eat and I had a hard time taking my blood pressure pills."

Symptom 7: Shortness of Breath

Trouble catching your breath can be related to the kidneys in two ways. First, extra fluid in the body can build up in the lungs. And second, anemia (a shortage of oxygen-carrying red blood cells) can leave your body oxygen-starved and short of breath.

What patients said:

"At the times when I get the shortness of breath, it's alarming to me. It just fears me. I think maybe I might fall or something so I usually go sit down for awhile."

"I couldn't sleep at night. I couldn't catch my breath, like I was drowning or something. And, the bloating, can't breathe, can't walk anywhere. It was bad."

"You go up a set of stairs and you're out of breath, or you do work and you get tired and you have to stop."

Symptom 8: Feeling Cold

Anemia can make you feel cold all the time, even in a warm room.

What patients said:

"I notice sometimes I get really cold, I get chills."

"Sometimes I get really, really cold. It could be hot, and I'd be cold."

Symptom 9: Dizziness and Trouble Concentrating

Anemia related to kidney failure means that your brain is not getting enough oxygen. This can lead to memory problems, trouble with concentration, and dizziness.

What patients said:

"I know I mentioned to my wife that my memory—I couldn't remember what I did last week, or maybe what I had 2 days ago. I couldn't really concentrate, because I like to work crossword puzzles and read a lot."

"I was always tired and dizzy."

"It got to the point, like, I used to be at work, and all of the sudden I'd start getting dizzy. So I was thinking maybe it was my blood pressure or else diabetes was going bad. That's what was on my mind."

Symptom 10: Leg/Flank Pain

The most common causes of CKD do not cause any pain. And, much of the pain that is near the kidneys is not caused by a kidney problem. But some people who have CKD do have pain.

Some people with kidney problems may have pain in the upper back (where the kidneys are) or on the same side as the affected kidney.

Polycystic kidney disease (PKD), which causes large, fluid-filled cysts on the kidneys and sometimes the liver, can cause pain.
Kidney infections and kidney stones can cause severe pain, often in spasms.
Bladder infections can cause burning when you urinate.
People who have medullary sponge kidney say it is painful.
What patients said:

"About 2 years ago, I was constantly going to the bathroom all the time, my back was always hurting and I was wondering why...and they diagnosed that kidney problem."

"And then you're having to get up all time through the night, and then you have the side ache, a backache, and you can't move."

"At night, I would get a pain in my side. It was worse than labor pain. And I'd be crying and my husband would get up, everybody, rubbing my legs."

I don't know what to do any longer with myself and my life. I have been suffering from depression for as long as I can remember since my early school days but things just seems to be getting worse. I don't have any joy or happiness. I hate my job with a passion and I think am in the wrong profession too. I am not really close to my family and they don't understand me. There is so much going wrong in my life that I don't really want to go into nor I doubt people really care. I just don't want to feel this way anymore. Has anyone that has been depressed that has come out of it? What did you guys do? I really am down on my wits and am having really unsavory thoughts atm. cry sad

Depression is an Illness that can be treated medically.. A lot of people think it is because of lack of Money or Job that cause depression. This is not true. Depression is a disease of the Brain and can be treated. Please consult your doctor and get help.. Don't be ashamed of it.. it is just like Malaria, that can be treated.. You might just be surprise that the treatment might be change of diet or sleeping habit..

God be with you!

Islam for Muslims / Re: Which Is Better - Giving Zakaah Openly Or Concealing It? by myinvest: 12:22pm On Mar 18, 2016
One basic principle in Islam is the Judgement based on Intention. There are so many Hadiths on this. However, there are Sadakah that can only be done openly while there are others which allows room to be discrete about it. The lesson in openly giving Sadakah is that might also encourage others, while advantage of being discrete is that you can in that way covers the secret of your brother/Sister. Take for example, someone who is struggling in the community financially, giving him secretely might help by covering his affair to the community and also not erode his pride as a man.

In this present e-banking days, giving discretely is now easier with online bank transfer that the received might not even know you. The social Media is making this easier for example www.donate-ng.com is championing the spirit of Community giving, little token goes a long way.

However for Zakah, there are school of thought who think it is preferable to have Zakah committee/establishment within the community where Zakah should be paid. In this case it will be relatively discrete. However, Zakah can be given directly to the Needy and in this case openly or discreet can be based on the situation. However, giving of Zakah should be taken serious and following of the right calculation is crucial to avoid giving sadakah in place of zakah.

The important thing as said is Intention, Give and ask for Allah acceptance/reward for your good deed and always ask for Forgiveness from the evil of the retreating whisperer - who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind. For we may at one time or the other have a feeling, after giving, for human recognition.

You know when you read some stories on Nl and u burst into laughter that bloggers are generating make beliefs stories...well I was like that until a friend told me about his current situation...Owu blow me ,fear grip me...
His Story:

My friend has been dating this lady for the past 3yrs and he was even thinking of doing his introduction and marriage this year....until he got the shock of his life on Monday....To him he thought their relationship was steady and ok so he never had any cause for alarm but a few weeks ago while praying in church his Pastor told him to avoid eating any food his Gf prepared for him for a while(I know what's on ur mind,Pastor lying since 20 B.C right?) well the guy prayed about it and kinda obey, they have been dating for 3yrs and sometimes the Gf comes over, sleep over or spend some days and you know its, kinda normal for ur Gf to prepare food and stuffs...
Due to the nature of his job, sometimes when he comes back from work the Gf would have slept and left his food in the cooler.. So after the pastors instruction he would sneak out and pour away the food...sometimes when it's during the day he would give excuse of the flat too hot and go outside the balcony to eat so that he wont raise any suspicion.. ..

After 3days of ignoring her food he notice his Gf became more aggressive and acts angrily.in his mind he thought it maybe she was having her menstral cycle so he ingored all those signs and still joke and make her life ....but 2 weeks ago she left his house as usual to go back home...since she got home anytime he calls her she was like "what" "en ehn" so he was like surprise by the new attitude,he went to her ouse several times but always met her absence...Sometimes when he calls her she talks like her usual good Gf but sometimes like they are fighting....
Last Friday while he was at church for vigil, the pastor called him aside and told him that the lady has been using charm on him for the past year, which lead to him losing his job for some months before getting a new one.. .the pastor told him that the lady main aim was to make him poor so that she would be the one feeding him and controlling him, that He will always listen and do her bidding anytime she wants ....

My friend almost fainted and the pastor told him the reason why he instructed him to stop eating het food was because she always feed him the juju(charm, jass) thru food....
He said he didn't believe what the pastor said so when he goy home he called her over 50times she didn't pick her call all thru friday to sunday...all he could think of was if it was true...
He spent all weekend asking himself the same questions like "Have I been under Juju all this while,Did she really love Him"

But on Monday he got the greatest shock if his Life...After work on Monday he got home and found his apartment empty...i mean totally partially empty ,only mattress and the bed stand, wall rode and some of his cloth remaining...all this watches, shoes, belt, all electrical gadgets were all gone..even all his pictures and personal stuffs...

He said he felt as if the world crumbled on Him,he went over to the ladies house and was told she hasn't been home for 2days..when he called, she picked up and eased ,banged the call...

So he went to the landlord of his apartment and the oldest son of the landlord which was around 25 confirm that his Gf came with her friends to pack everything...The landlord said he couldn't stop her becos she was pratically living with him for Past 2yrs so they tot they were married...

My friend is still in Limbo Atm cos he still loves her alot inregardless of what had happen...
The crazy thing is that yesterday somebody return some of his picture, the one he took with the lady was not returned....

Honestly if you meet this couple you would think they are heaven made cos they look so good together and were happy ....

aAfter hearing this last night,I got so scared,I never imagined a lady could do something like this to a guy that loves her...

My advice to everyone out there is to be prayerful in ur relationship cos u don't also know if you are under spell

Your friend did the worst thing in a relationship, Tell the other party you don't trust her/him? If you want to end a relationship.. show the sign you don't trust him or her. To the extent of rejecting her food because you suspect she is poisoning you.. had it been you were the Lady, would you continue in the relationship?

It would be nice to repeat this social experiment again.

1] We need someone to stop eating his mother food..
2] We need someone to stop eating his wife's food...
3] Another person to stop eating his babe food..

All this for just 3days.. and come back to report what happen to you.
