Givaxy: Don't mind him. Emir of Ilorin has over 75% Yoruba bloodline. The people of Ilorin only allow him to continue to occupy the ceremonial position because of religion. That being said, The Fulani/Hausa/Nupe/Kanuri stocks in Ilorin are less than 5% of the total population. An overwhelming population of the city are Yorubas. 2 Likes |

Dosvedanie: Southerners have properties in the north but that pales in comparison in the value of subsidy the north enjoys from the south. If Nigeria disintegrates, it will shock you that most ethnic groups in the north-central and northeast will like to go with the south. 1 Like |

Oshigun: Bro, there are a huge Yoruba population in Kaduna, Kano, Niger, Katsina. Look at the El Rufai cabinet, You will see a heavy Yoruba presence. That being said, Yoruba will only relocate to Yorubaland when a no Hausa-Fulani is left in Yorubaland. When no kobo of our resources is used to fund the budget of any northern states. This will happen when Nigeria disintegrates. Also, the Fulani can't lay claims to any land. They should tell us there homeland. If the Hausas, Kanuris, Nupe, Gbwagi etc are telling Yoruba to evacuate then they have a point. |

The core north never made Obasonjo in 2003, Jonathan in 2011, and Yaradua (intact most northerners voted Buhari instead of Yaradua) 1 Like |

PaChukwudi44: I don't really care who becomes the next president but at least we should get someone on the ticket that can safeguard life and property, give the economy a boast and generally solve the problem of kidnapping and banditry. I know how much I have spent on flights on location I would rather drive to. Nigerians are not safe, the economy is in shambles and you think I really care more about the ethnicity of our next president that how competent he is? 4 Likes |

FriendNG: If you say that the Oyo state government didn't manage the violence well, then you have a point but to say he collided with Amotekun to kill northerners in an insignificant market, then that is being mischievous. He should have acted on time to bring normalcy to the market but he never sided with anyone in his handling of the unfortunate incident. 2 Likes |

QuotaSystem: You are spot one. The event in Ibadan is unfortunate, many innocent northerners fell victims to what has nothing to do with them. They were just the common men looking for what to eat and the gov't of the state should have acted on time to bring everything under control. I also agree with you that the press has not really been of help with the amount of fake news they have been churning out. What we really want is a Nigeria that works for everyone. We all can take the blame for what Nigeria has become and at the same time work in making it a better country for all. I believe that our diversity in geography should be an advantage for us all. We should be working and fighting for a better country that will be able to protect the interest of the most vulnerable member of our society. Chears. 2 Likes 1 Share |

QuotaSystem: What hateful derogatory rhetoric? How do you even want the Yorubas to react when communities upon communities are being attacked by Fulani bandits in Ondo, Oyo, Ogun, Kwara and Ekiti? The people of the north-west suffering from the continuous attack of bandits may not look at it from the prism of ethnic attacks and a bid to take over their land from them since there the Fulanis are indigenous to that land but the Yorubas don't have such a relationship with the Fulanis. Everyone knows that without the Fulani issues, the southwest would never have risen to hate or push negative rhetoric against the north but instead of smart people like you to dose the tension, you keep on escalating the whole thing by calling us names and playing politics with it. Everyone knows that the Buhari gov't have been sympathetic to the Fulani criminals and terrorist against the interest of other Nigerians. He has used the instrument of States to protect them while playing dead to the yearning of other Nigerians. People wouldn't just take it and assume that everything is okay, just because the interest of an Osinbanjo or Tinubu is on the line. I will rather have peace, be able to farm and travelled around and have an Igbo president than the prospect of being kidnapped in my homeland and on the road with a Yoruba president. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Maobichek: I was born and still resides in the north. Hausa/Fulani only want an arrangement where they get to dictate all the terms. Trust me, Nigeria will never develop in its current configuration and the Hausa/Fulani elites will rather die than allow it to be reconfigured in a way that will bring progress. They will continue to need a subsidy from the South and will continue to sabotage any effect to make it work because, in reality, a working Nigeria will put all the power in the hands of southerners. I supported Buhari, I was a pro northerner in the past. I erroneously see myself as one of them due to religion and acquaintance but the truth is, the only thing they need all none Hausa/Fulani for is to win elections and shield themselves against criticism. But we can't continue to play second fiddle to people that should be crawling on our feet. 3 Likes |

QuotaSystem: No wonder the majority Hausa Fulani were crying everywhere when Obasanjo was the president. I can't remember the number of mosques that we're pushing dangerous narratives against the Yoruba when Obasanjo was the president. You are not the majority, the three regions in the South have more people than the north and if the middle belt is put into consideration the odds will strongly be against you. The leadership of the army can easily be reconfigured to suit the whims of the president to push an agenda. Also, the army is dominated by northern Christians, not Sahelian. If a southern president that knows how to play politics becomes the president, the easiest thing to do will be just to empower the middle belts and northeastern minorities. 1 Like |

I don't hate the Talakawas Hausas on the street, what I hate is the hubris of the elites that are mostly a hybrid of Fulani. The elites that don't understand governance and how to position Nigeria on the part of progress. You can't tell the Yorubas on one hand that you will sabotage their interest and expect them to be your friend. The Yoruba intellectuals will continue to drum the injustices against Benue, Southern Kaduna, Taraba, southern Gombe, Kebbi minorities, Nassarawa etc the throats of northern minorities. We'll continue to push propaganda to win and weaken the hegemonic forces of parasitic Hausa/Fulani elites. The game will be play to divide and cut you, people, off. PaChukwudi44: The power remaining in the north will be more disastrous to the Igbos than any group in the south. You will not know this because of your hate for the Yorubas is more important to the interest of Igbos. I was in Owerri just this weekend, Incan see how welcoming they were of Yorubas and other southerners. I can see how the only problem they have is the Fulani herders that have made life unbearable for all southerners and middle belts. I can see that it's important that power must be wrestled away from the north and if you fail to see this, then we have nothing to talk about. 3 Likes |

QuotaSystem: Northern interest is not paramount to the Yorubas. Yoruba interest first in Yorubaland and Nigeria at large. We can't relegate our interest to the back just because we want to play to the gallery of the Sahelian. What do you bring to the table to warrant all the hubris? What will the Yoruba lose for falling out with the core north when they can play a spoiler to win the middle belt and northeastern minorities to their side or better still when they can exit Nigeria? The only people that need to be really worried are the Sahelian. The only people that will be cut out completely when the going gets tough. The only people that should be on their knees begging the rest of us. Forget about social media and go to the street and the real world. The level of distrust amongst Nigerians towards the core north is at an all-time high. seunmsg: People don't know that power is a beast that is hard to tame. The APC governor may be playing themselves for taking that route. Jonathan will carry his team along when he wins, the equation will change and will never favour them. Hostility will increase for core northerners and their interest in the southwest and the core north will lose out in the long run. |
