Health / Re: A Day In The Life Of Someone Living With Sickle Cell by n0m0705(m): 6:28am On Oct 30, 2012
bamto: @ OP. Thanks for sharing. It's indeed a gory sight to behold when the crises start. I've two cousins with the sickle cell anemia. I really feel for them. But it's not only AS and AS combination that is risky you know? Any two carriers are. AS/AS, AS/SS, AS/SC, AS/AC, AC/AC, AC/SC etc. Many people are not aware of AC, SC, CC genotypes cos they are uncommon. Anything 'C' is the half of 'S' as the shape looks. Its just as deadly. Don't tell me there's no such thing 'cos I'm confirmed AC!

I'm also AC, but I think the C gene is a very mild form of Sickle cell cos I have seen someone with genotype SC and he is as strong as any of us. Also I have heard of CC and he is not crises prone. Stand to be corrected
Crime / Re: UNIBEN Student: Daniel Ike Killed By Cultists by n0m0705(m): 2:32am On Sep 10, 2012
vislabraye: Cultists couled be mindless and plain stupid.
It is possible they attack non cultist student especially because of a woman.

Of course but not to the extent of killing, from my experience, about 99% of people killed in ekosodin during my time in UNIBEN were cultist, the highest that could happen to a non cultist is serious beating or obtaining. In this guy's case, there is a strong possibility he was a rival cultist. May God grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss

Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Dangote Truck Drivers With HND/BSc: No Respect For Nigerian Graduates by n0m0705(m): 4:06pm On Aug 03, 2012
Talking about preference, being a graduate has nothing to do with truck driving. I won't blame anyone that applied cos of the obvious state of the country, I just fault the required qualification.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Dangote Truck Drivers With HND/BSc: No Respect For Nigerian Graduates by n0m0705(m): 3:29pm On Aug 03, 2012
mekasonuk: He does not need to make the job specific for Bsc/HND holders because it is a non-skilled job and as such implies demeaning the status of our educational system. All he needs to do is to advertise the job; if a graduate or even a Phd holder now picks interest in the job, no problem with that. It is now a question of the individual's choice. I still blame the government for allowing Dangote to be running a monopoly biz in the country.
Thank you my brother, why would he make it specific for graduate? It is not abt pride, it's just demeaning.

Agreed the PDP are worse but don't you think that is irrelevant here.
Politics / Re: Ndigbo Wont Vote For ACN In Lagos by n0m0705(m): 4:24pm On Jul 22, 2012
Billyonaire: Every analytical mind should try to find out, what percentage of the voting populace is Ndigbo, and if Ndigbo makes up to one-third of the voting Populace then voting for PDP will be monumental success and should be taken seriously. Being "carried along" is important. If you keep demolishing the "places of interest" of Ndigbo like their market, Stores and keep increasing the Tenement rates in Lekki Phase 1 and VGC where majority of the property owners are Ndigbo, then you incur the wrath of these progressive Easterners. ACN under Fashola did so great in rehabilitation of roads and engaging Area boys and beautification, but this Fashola's second term, he has done nothing, I have not witnessed any new developmental strides, the roads under construction are the PPP projects that are tolled and paid for, by our tax money, for the next 30 yrs under the LCC and the rail way line to Badagry is a loan from World Bank.... Ndigbo is a force to reckon with, and if ACN wants to retain Lagos, Ndigbo has to be "carried along". A word is enough for the wise__________ BillyOnaire

I have to disagree that fashola has not done anything in his 2nd term, if you say the pace of work is slow I'll agree or probably you are not used to the part of lagos where his work is presently ongoing. I don't support party cos I believe they are all the same, but if I see an individual dat is working I appreciate.

Romance / Re: What Do You Enjoy Here In This Section? by n0m0705(m): 11:40pm On Jul 21, 2012
I enjoy the mixture of quality advise, jokes and bashing. In short whenever I feel like laughing I log in straight to romance section. I don't miss any thread by LEFULEFU, that guy is so funny with his Pally's story. I also enjoy mr c*rk and the old version of 190, this new version is too serious.

Oh I almost forgot to mention ONILA, it's just unfortunate that so many people here dislike her, and I guess that is why she is not so frequent here like before.
Romance / Re: Will You consider a Genotype Test Before Marriage? by n0m0705(m): 7:10pm On Jul 13, 2012
dohyn: Firstly, let me correct this probability misconception..if u are AS and ur partner is AS,ur child can either be AA,AS or SS. This means that each pregnancy can only be one of the 3 and it's possible all the pregnancies are AA,AS or SS. There's nothing like 25% probability. U could lucky to have all ur kids AA and also, SS. I hope u get my drift. As for the AS,SC matter,it's not common..what we do have is AC,which is just like AS. I guess SC occurs when an AS marries an AC and they have a child with the SC genotype, which is just like SS but I can assure u,it's a worse type..so,if an AS marries an SC,the combinations that can result are AS,SS and SC. These means that each/all child(ren) borne can have any of the above combinations. It doesn't matter if u have 10 kids. The scenario is the same for each pregnancy and the best one can hope for is an AS. I hope I helped some

The probability stuff is not misconception,it is just a mathematical way of explaining what u wrote above. Concerning the C gene, from my little knowledge cos I am AC also, the C gene is just a mild form of sickle cell ,so an individual with a genotype SC will not be prone to crisis compare to the SS.

blackweaver:

And what happens when BB eventually goes bankrupt? you think you'd still have your "unlimited data" because unless something changes soon that is going to happen; truth of the matter is nigeria may be a large market in africa but it's a very small market in the world; we really have very few big spenders over here, in fact most bb phones in circulation are not brand new, so how is RIM going to sustain themselves on that? even the indian market is moving away from BB
I guess we'll have to wait till that time, and who says RIM is not doing anything to redeem itself or there won't be another cheaper alternative before RIM go bankrupt. The truth is BB is very cheap data wise compare to other smart phone,so for now it's BB all the way until my level changes.
Phones / Re: Why Is BlackBerry Seen As Prestigious In Nigeria? by n0m0705(m): 6:49am On Jul 02, 2012
It amazes me the way people reason in this part of the world, so those that use android and iphone because they are the in-thing in the western world are not doing follow follow? I don't know maybe u have so much money to throw around, but as for me,I don't bite more than I can chew, I don't see any reason why I should be paying 6k/month for internet browsing on my phone when I av the option of 1400/month. the fact remains that android and iphone data are just too expensive in nigeria. If u are not trying to follow everything that is in vogue in the western world, BB should be the better option for now. Most of the people condemning BB here are only using android and iphone becos they want to follow the trend and not because it is convenient

'Cos Arsenal is the best run club in England and along with bayern Munich the best run in the world. Fans of other clubs can't just seem to understand how Arsenal manges to finish amongst the top 4 year in year out on a shoe string budget. Man shity and chelski don't matter cos soon their sugar daddies will get bored and leave. They'll both be back to their befitting mid table status. Man utd with all their debts, thanks to the Glazers, will soon go the leeds way. Arsenal, however, with its rock solid foundation, thanks to le Prof. Wenger, has a bright and assured future.

@emmke
You wouldn't want to involve Man united, arse nal might be a well run club but it will always come after UNITED. In case you don't know, the only
reason why you are talking about debt in united is because the Glazers decided to buy UNITED with a loan which they are comfortably servicing annually from the club's purse. Perhaps you don't know UNITED is the most valuable sport club in the world, valued to be worth 2 billion dollars. Now tell me, how will they go the Leeds utd way when they can easily sell a fraction of their share to pay off any debt?
