EgunMogaji2: You’re still speaking English to them I think.
You can get a meter. Just talk to the security staff for a hookup. The security man knows the company better than the CEO. You’re still doing it the Yankee returnee way. I just paid the marketers and told them I’m not paying any bill until I see my prepaid meter. I got my meter almost a year later and I started paying to the government when the meter was installed. I didn’t surmount to the pressure to pay any estimated bill after paying for the meter and I made it clear to them that you can’t have my money and cut my supply. Give me my meter today and I’ll start paying immediately. Those in government can chose to be stupid. You’re not compelled to take their bullsh*t

This Week: Make A Difference
No matter what business you are in, who your customers are, how bad the economy may be and how many competitors you are up against, you have an edge that no one else has: YOU.
You are the differentiating factor in your customer’s decision-making process. No other company or individual has that edge. The difference all starts with you.
Happy New Week.

ibietela2: Hehehehe, now am confused Don’t get it twisted. Plastering comes before doing POP ceiling. The initial post recommending doing POP before plastering is referring to architectural ornaments on windows, pillars, beams as POP. You do those before plastering if you want to achieve the best result. Both are actually right but the terminology used is exactly what’s causing the confusion. |

abdulwastecx: Baba, your boy dey oh.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. We need to research and work with cheaper building materials. The thing is we must continue to look for cost-effective ways to build houses as the income of the average Nigerian continues to dwindle. I’m in talk with someone at the moment and the only thing we were looking at is how to deliver quality build at the most affordable price without sacrificing on quality. I think the easiest way is to explore the alternative building solutions and also cut down on wastages. This is long overdue. |

mosefin19: 3bedroom bungalow I think the quote is fine but I’d suggest 9in block for your external walls while the internal partitions can be 6in. You can push for 100k discount though. I’m assuming his workmanship covers the following: - All block work to Roofing level - Casting of beam and lintels I also hope the headroom (height of the room from floor to roof level) is 3.3m + That means he’s raising 3 blocks after casting the lintel. Wishing you all the best. _________ Edit: I’m also assuming this is a standard 3 bedroom apartment with all rooms ensute, dining, lounge, porch, ante room, side balcony, kitchen, store etc |

Also windows hoods, the edges angle's. Now this is one reason I’m not so quick to attack people online. I always listen to understand and not to respond. You’re actually talking about doing ornamentals (which is widely called POP here too) before plastering and not gypsum POP ceiling like we assume. Pls endeavor to share image depicting what you’re explaining next time. Thanks. Well done. |

MrOkenwa: Hi, is it normal for the stab not to supply the building when the input volt drops to a certain level? I haven't got the true picture as the person that was at home when it happened didn't take note of the input voltage at that time. Otherwise, it's been working fine Chairman, I hail o! I’m just having a feel of the stabilizer today since it was installed on Tuesday and I noticed the stabilizer stop supplying when its overloaded.Turning off some of the equipment in the house fix this issue at my end. |

abdulwastecx: I think changing our addiction to concrete will allow us to build more environmentally sustainable homes. I have some Timber decked home designs that I'm currently working on. Something like a composite of concrete beams, timber joists, and decking wood. The problem we currently have with the use of timber as a structural material is strength classification. My boss, my boss. I hail o! So you too agree we need to #EndNORM #EndOverRelianceOnConcrete Maybe coming from someone like you will help some of us make a rethink. I’m sha buying my solid timbers from hslbroker2 sha for timber structures. But gone past the major concrete work , which was a 1700sqm over the basement parking , the rest Na moi moi It’s good to talk to them sir because of future developments. Development no dey finish (Akala way still dey there)Lafarge love supporting upscale developments and they do better than every other competitor in this area. I’m sure Engr Bayo is aware of this. The reason we often don’t explore this option is we often times assume the procedure is complex and might be fraught with logistic issues. Most multi-floor projects in Nigeria uses Lafarge ReadyMix and maybe a few other companies in the readymix concrete business. ______ Good speed! I can see they’re already at the 2nd floor. |

rotecch77: You will find your self blame for Doing POP ceiling BEFORE plastering, who does that. Except you want to fix wall tiles on such surface which might NOT need plastering. I won’t be quick to dispel his ideas though. There might be a new way to do things. I know I’ve seen a building that was not plastered the traditional way we do stuffs. They just did the ceiling and the walls were screeded with a special mortar mix. I’ll share video once I can get it. The solution was shared in one of our Affordable Housing conference. |

rmx: Immediately I read what you wrote , sent message to my people to get quote for 2 trailers and present to me tomorrow morning
Will ask the builder , is that option cheaper ? Me I Like having materials on ground , don’t want to be waiting with all this price fluctuations You can discuss partnership with them sir. They’re very flexible and it’s a cheaper option in the long run. They charge per cubic m and other things like project scope/location/height etc determines the cost. I’m trying to get the contact of my guy Uthman Shafau in Ewekoro who works in the Aggregates and Concrete Unit. |

EgunMogaji2: The only solar I have are exterior lights. I’m waiting to build my forever house before doing solar. The voltage I have is 80 to 110 volts so I run gen more than I should. To weld, pump water gen has to come on.
When I build my duplex I won’t even connect to PHCN. Tbh, PHCN is cheap if the billing is right. Kiekie1’s servo stabilizer is something you’d really enjoy in this country. It regulates both the current and voltage perfectly well. Even my inverter is happier. I’m looking at getting a 10 - 20kva for my house soon. |

hslbroker2: good questions.
Doing pop before plastering is the best, because it will enable the plasterer to gauge and smooth all the edges of the pop design. You mean something like this right? This is one of my bathroom and I intend to use supafix tile adhesive to install the wall tiles. No plastering!
