omanzo02:Well noted. Thanks for the information. His client too is well aware of the happenings that’s why he engaged kobocity to handle this. Payment already made for the materials. Delivery should happen later today. More updates later on this thread. #AITRoofingProject

#AITRoofingProject Update Contact made with the contractor. Our representative and the contractor are already at the company to move the material. |
Horlardorjah:Nice one. Those shade are built-to-order. You have to order weeks or month ahead of install. I love buildings with interesting characters. |
ibietela2:The window design highlighted in the picture below must be done before plastering the house if you want to achieve the best result. Please read slowly ![]()

Chekitaut:This is one reason I always do all my best to complete my project within schedule and ordering my materials ahead of time. Imagine I quoted 3,000 for cement on my ongoing project and the current price is now 3,700. We had a similar issue with reinforcement. We quoted 290 - 305 and we are paying 345 - 380k per ton now. Yet there was no variation added on the cost of all blocks supplied or the cost cement used on the project. I’ll be in need of maybe 20 - 30 more bags of cement to complete this project and the extra cost to pay is almost negligible that we will absorb it without disturbing my client. Delay is very dangerous in construction especially in a country like Nigeria. __________ We don’t just talk. We work smart. We don’t just react. We are proactive. |

^^^ As a builder, I still build houses with gatehouse for my clients and just like I defended home automation above, I can equally convince them that having a mai-guard is the next best thing after the creation of the world ![]() I’m just doing my job. The opinions shared above are simply mine and not a standard that anyone should follow. |
Horlardorjah:Wow! So lovely. I wished you had clear polycarbonate there to open up the heavens ![]() I intend to propose automated skylight shade to my client to create shade and reduce glare. Nice creative idea. Well done! |
You routinely says this stuff but it’s a one sided view because you condescendingly point think all our Mai Guards do is open gate. My decision is based on many reasons which includes but not limited to the porous security situation in the country. Some of the tasks mine does is: My response in bold Sweeps and clean the compound. My kids does this. Washes and feeds the dogs. My kids does this. Washes the vehicles but not the bikes. I do this occasionally. Runs errands occasionally and as needed. I have guys who do all these one-off stuffs for me. A water factory near us delivers our bottled and dispenser water. My generator guy performs routine check on my generators (including the ones used for site operation) every month. My gardener do the trimming once a quarter. Manages the electrical system. Everything is automated here. I hardly visit my power house except we intend to change PHCN line. I hardly use generator because there’s hybrid solar/inverter solution. My security lights automatically turn on and off at scheduled time of the day year round whether we are around or not. Plants and trims trees and flowers. Again, this is one-off. We don’t cut flowers and trim trees everyday. Provides presence in the compound. Dogs take over when we’re out. Sprays vegetation killer on adjoining undeveloped properties. This is done occasionally. Ensures water storage is adequate. This is automated and controlled by the gate operator. Opens and close gate typically only twice a day. This is automated. Opens and close main gate and the pedestrian gate for as many time as needed at the press of a button. We know who come in and why they’re inside the compound. Automation is the way to go in all facets of a residence, not just gate, but in most cases will not replace a conscientious Mai Guard, rather it will supplement him. If one chooses to have one. When the dogs go apeshit in the middle of the night it’s refreshing to have another make adult in the compound to investigate with. For those of us in remote areas. Once we are inside the house at night, NOTHING makes us go out again except its an emergency. Musa can always go to sleep, my automated systems will never go to sleep. Anyways, just an alternative viewpoint. I actually weighed both option and found out the only safe security in a country like ours is anything that do not have human interface. _________ For 7 years, gateman/maid/cook/driver couldn’t track down the pedophile harassing the 7 year old girl but CCTV. I guess they chose to ignore, aid and abet or they just proved me right that any solution that has human interface in Nigeria is bound to fail or get compromised. Automation is the way. Automation no dey collect bribe. |

Aforxzy:Oh I see. Well done! |
Pompoms:Automatic Gate it is. It’s safer, cheaper and far more reliable than the conventional gates. I’ve been using mine since a decade ago and I’ve not spent up to 15k on maintenance. That 15k is not enough to pay Musa’s one month salary. This is coupled with the fact that I still need to provide a whole 12 - 14sqm house just for Musa to be opening gate and do those stuffs we call security. I go with failsafe automated solutions. |
bixton:Everything rises and fall on leadership. Great leaders set the stage, not to perform on it but watch for things that undermine result. We lack true leaders in Nigeria or let’s say we lack those who truly understand what leadership means. |
This gotta be outside Lagos. I guess Ondo state from the type of block being used. Well done! |

EgunMogaji2:The same thing applies here but most times “on paper” |
bixton: ![]() I’ve been living in my house since 2013. I was only able to get a meter in 2018. So PHCN issh is on a national scale. |
EgunMogaji2:Here we grease their palm |
44chux:Ok. I’ll work on something modern and share by tomorrow Expect a flat roof though and lots of translucent materials. |
Greenarrow01:+ 23480234 29 122 |
44chux:What exactly do you need sir? A facelift or a complete redesign? |
sgtponzihater1:They had no intention of giving me meter just as I do not have intention to pay for electricity until my meter is installed. They hurriedly came to install my meter when a new price was announced for meter purchase in August 2019. I’m sure my bill per month is not up to 2k. Now you understand why they won’t like to give meter to people. |
sgtponzihater1:Well it worked for me because I enforced it and I can show you prove that it actually worked for me. You can’t have my money for a prepaid meter and still be giving me estimated bills. Do you think they don’t have meter on ground? |
