Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the 2019 election, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, and the PDP, yesterday, questioned the motive for the inclusion of two billionaire businessmen, Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola in the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Campaign Council. They described the move as an act of desperation on the part of the president and the APC.
Atiku spoke through one of the PDP Presidential Campaign image makers, Kassim Afegbua. Atiku said as businessmen, the President ought to have included the duo in his economic management team to avail him their wealth of knowledge on how to create jobs, adding that listing them as campaign members shows that President Buhari is out to blackmail the successful entrepreneurs. He said: “These people are businessmen, not politicians. These are the kind of people Nigerians expect to see in the economic management team because of what they have done for this country.
“He (Buhari) is simply out to blackmail them because by the time they fund his campaign, he will turn around and call them corrupt businessmen. “Nigerians can now see for themselves what we have been talking about all this while and we call on them to vote out this grossly incompetent administration, whose stock in trade is blackmail of perceived enemies.”
In a statement issued yesterday by Kola Ologbondiyan, Director, Media and Publicity of PPCO, the party said it was aware of the protests by some eminent Nigerians, including foremost businessmen (Aliko Dangote and Femi Otedola) who were named as members of the APC Campaign Council without their consent, in a desperate bid to showcase an impression that they are supporting Mr. President’s re-election bid.
“Our party also has it on good authority that this ignoble scheme of siphoning NDDC development fund to finance his campaign was the main reason President Buhari foisted an unpopular leadership at the management of the NDDC despite the protests by critical stakeholders in all the states of the Niger Delta.”

PizzleGold: The Niger state police command has arrested suspected member of a kidnap gang
Mukhtar Abubakar, the 24-year-old suspect, said he had planned to make billions out of kidnapping before he was arrested.
Abubakar also said over the years kidnapping has brought in easy money for him
A suspected member of a kidnap gang that allegedly masterminded the kidnap of Abubakar Umar of Auna in Magama local government area of Niger state, has been arrested by the state police command.
The 24-year-old suspect, identified as Mukhtar Abubakar in his confessions to The Nation, said he had planned to make billions out of kidnapping before he was arrested, adding that abduction has become the easiest way to make money in Nigeria.
Abubakar disclosed that his group's modus operandi was to kidnap victims and demand for ransom before releasing them. He said kidnapping over the years has brought in easy money for him.
He said: ”Kidnapping is the fastest business in Nigeria now; you can make your millions without too much stress. I love kidnapping and abducting people for easy money.”
Abubakar however, met his waterloo as he was arrested by police detectives attached to the Police Area Command in Kontagora after the payment of the ransom demanded on their victim, Umar.
According to him, he and his gang invaded the house of their victim, kidnapped him and demanded the ransom of N150 million for his release, out of which N13.5 million was eventually paid for his release, after rigorous negotiation.
The 24-year-old suspect further disclosed that the kidnapping gang is made up of a team of nine, which is led by one Mallam Umaru. “I never knew that in my wildest imagination, the police will one day arrest me.
Otherwise, I would have been swimming in millions of naira. It’s unfortunate. “I knew that whatever has a beginning must have an end. Honestly, this is the end of the road for me and my gang members. We had already planned how to share the loot but now, I’ve ended up in police net, too bad!” Abubakar said that luck ran out of him when police detectives in Kontagora apprehended him while trying to escape, adding that the other members of his gang are still at large.

Business › Re: 13 Online Business Ideas That Can Make You A Lot Of Money In 2019 by nabegibeg: 10:40pm On Dec 03, 2018 |
babaonpoint: Online business continues to grow at double-digit rates. According to eMarketer, there was a 24.8% increase in 2017 over the previous year. The global worldwide sales reached $2.304 trillion, with mobile accounting for 58.9% of those sales.
As online business continues to take a bigger chunk of the traditional retail market around the world, this is a good time to get your online business ideas up and running.
This is because 47.3% of the world population is expected to buy online in 2018. And as more people use eCommerce, customers will be looking for new and innovative online business ideas to make the experience even better.
Online Business Ideas
1. Blogging
Blogging is a viable business opportunity that allows you to choose a niche that really suits you. And you can make money through advertising, affiliate products, info products or any number of other avenues.
2. Become a Freelance Writer
While a knack for writing is necessary, becoming a freelance writer online can earn you thousands of Naira- and is typically a pretty easy gig to find. Sites like UpWork offer lots of great freelance jobs that can earn you over $1,000 - and, lots of other freelancing pays per hour as well, earning you an average of $15 to $20 per hour.
3. Buy and Sell Domains
Many people buy and sell domain names to earn money online since it takes very little time or investment. You can purchase a domain at its registration price or even much cheaper and then resell it for a profit. But, it always pays to do your homework first on websites like Afternic.com, Sedo.co.uk, or other domain auction websites in order to get a good idea of what’s popular in terms of domain names. An ideal way to find really good names is to check out terminated lists that offer many expired names and have made their way back into the pool for people to buy. A good site for this is expired domains.net where you can put in your desired keyword that you want in your domain name and a long list of domain options will appear.
4. Online market trading
The historically hard-to-break world of investing in stock markets and currencies has been cracked wide open. Today there is no need to be an expert or a financial analyst to trade online. You can do it all yourself with the help of online market trading platforms. Bitcoin, XRP, Ethereum And so many more
5. Take surveys online
While taking online surveys won’t make you rich by any means, a few minutes of your time can earn you a few extra dollars. There are a number of websites that will pay you to take surveys: Harris Poll Online, Opinion Outpost, National Consumer Panel
6. Social Media Manager
If you’re social media savvy, you can offer your services to brands that want help managing their social media accounts on a daily basis.
7. Social Media Consultant
Alternatively, you can simply offer your social media expertise to clients online instead of actually managing the accounts for them.
8. Social Media Influencer
Or you can instead focus on growing your own social media accounts. And if you garner enough influence within your network, you can build a business as an influencer that works with brands to promote products and services on your account.
9. Start a YouTube Channel
Despite the fact that not all of us will earn YouTube stardom, some of us might - and that's exactly how you can make money for your videos on YouTube. The popular platform can potentially generate thousands of dollars of income - but, there is more than one hoop to jump through.
10. Become a YouTube partner
The big money on YouTube is if you meet the requirements to become a partner. This year, YouTube changed the requirements to become a partner. You need to have a channel that has reached 4,000 watch hours in the previous 12 months and 1,000 subscribers.
When you’re a partner, you start earning by how many views you receive. Here’s how it works: “YouTube takes around a 45 percent slice of advertising revenue, although the CPM (cost per thousand) that advertisers are charged varies. Most partners earn anywhere between $0.30 to $2.50 CPM.”
11. Connect to Google AdSense
Once you become a Youtube partner, you can connect to Google AdSense, their advertising system. You’ll be paid based on the number of “impressions” your videos get. That’s when someone clicks on or watches an ad.
12. Product placement
If you can get companies to sponsor your videos, or place their products in their videos, you can generate even more income. But you’ll need to inform YouTube of these product placements, or they may pull your partnership.
13. Write an e-book
Writing an e-book and selling it is a lot like making courses online. Again, if you have a topic you want to write about—it could be as simple as the hobbies you like—writing about it should be easy, and if you can find a site willing to buy your book you can rake in a little extra cash. You can go through Amazon Kindle Publishing—they’ll charge you a commission each time you get a sale, but their reach is huge, so you’re more likely to sell more copies.

Music/Radio › Re: 5 Artistes The Internet Has Produced (for The Industry) by nabegibeg: 2:24pm On Dec 03, 2018 |
magazineguy: The internet is increasingly becoming an integral part of music business around the world. Not only is it a platform for consumers to access music materials, it also allows creators get their art to be heard and seen. In the right hands, the internet, particularly Instagram and Twitter, can be portals to fame and fortune. Here is a list of 5 artistes who have used the internet as a portal to fame:
Mayorkun
https://i2.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/mayorkun-1.jpg?resize=300%2C234
He is now an established pop star with a befitting title: “The Mayor of Lagos.” Before his big break in 2016, the acclaimed singer was a young man with a flair for music, holed up in the banking sector. He recorded a video of himself making a cover to Davido and Olamide’s duet: “The Money.” Davido picked up interest in the video and it developed into a record deal for Mayorkun who seized the chance to actualise his dreams.
Teni
https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/01/TENI-THE-ENTERTAINER-1.jpg?resize=300%2C300
Her success story is a testament to the power of the internet in helping an artiste find an audience. Under Shizzi’s Magic Finger Records she started with posting freestyle videos and skits on Instagram. And around late 2016, one of her videos spread across the platform like wildfire, making her an Internet sensation and earning her a chance to switch to Dr. Dolor Entertainment where she has grown to become a big deal in industry. Interestingly, she continually uses her social media platforms to reach lovers of her art. She is a gift of the internet to the music industry.
Picazo Rhap

The YBNL new signee is another success story of the internet. He partook in the Instagram challenge of Chinko Ekun’s street-pop anthem, Able Gold, and his impressive rap skill caused his video to go viral. The rave translated into a record deal with one of the country’s biggest labels, boosting his profile in the process and making a talent to watch in the future.
Zamorra
https://i0.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/zamosings.jpg?resize=240%2C300
The Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) graduate attracted some attention to himself with his creative covers; but it is the viral success of one of his recent “importanter” video, which brought him to the industry’s focus. He then released an official version that was welcomed by the public. Since the trend, Zamo Sings now walks in industry circles as one of the stars on the rise.
Temi Ovwasa (YBNL Princess)
https://i2.wp.com/tushmagazine.com.ng/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/temi-ovwasa.jpg?resize=300%2C200
Olamide himself was the scout who found Temi on Instagram. She recounted the story in an interview in 2017. “I used to sing and record covers of different songs, which I post on Instagram. In August last year (2016), I uploaded a particular video of a song and realised that Olamide had liked all my videos”, she said. The interest led to her getting signed and made her the YBNL princess whose announcement shook the industry.
The internet still offers opportunities to artistes. There are potential investors like Olamide and Dr. Dolor lurking around the streets of the internet looking for prospects; and millions of fans out there who would appreciate brilliant works of art if it is shown to them.

Politics › Re: N200m Water Fountain In Benin, Oshiomhole Built: See The Current State by nabegibeg: 2:02pm On Nov 09, 2018 |
AutoJoshNG: One of the first major projects embarked upon by the Adams Oshiomhole administration was the rehabilitation of the Kings Square, Benin city, otherwise known as Ring Road.
Prior to that time, the Ring Road and adjoining streets were in terrible states. There were motor parks at every junction. This caused heavy traffic congestion. Refuse heaps littered the roads, and walking around the Ring Road was a thing of fear due to robbery attacks and activities of pickpockets.
To restore the beauty of the Ring Road, Oshiomhole sacked all motor-parks around the Ring Road, including the one owned by Chief Osamede Adun popularly known as Bob Izua.
Oshiomhole reconstructed all roads leading to the Ring Road to dual carriageways. These roads were fitted with walkways and streetlights.
A water fountain worth N200million was built at the Ring Road.
The Ring Road became a beauty to behold. The street lighting around the Ring Road restored people’s confidence to walk around the place without fears of being robbed.
https://i2.wp.com/autojosh.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/11/Kings-Square-Benin-21.jpg?w=754&ssl=1
Today, the Ring Road is speedily slipping back into its former sorry state.
The money spent to beautify the place appears to have been wasted. Workers previously employed to water the grasses and flowers are nowhere to be seen.
The gardens created around the Ring Road are unattended to. Gardens created in front of institutions, such as the House of Assembly, Central Hospital, First Bank are unkempt.
Rails erected around many of the gardens have been destroyed. Many of the flower pots in adjoining streets are without flowers. Pavements in the adjoining streets now serve as refuse dumps.
The most affected is the epicenter of Ring Road. That spot houses the Benin National Museum. That location is where the water fountain constructed by the Oshiomhole administration is sited.
The Water Fountain that once attracted thousands of fun seekers to the Ring Road, Benin city, has completely decayed.

ahmedkoded95: The Director-General of the Voice of Nigeria, VON, and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Enugu State, Osita Okechukwu, has told the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole to humbly resign instead of ‘running’ abroad.
The former Governor of Edo State is currently locking horns with some leaders and Governors of the party who believe he was involved in some shoddy deals during the party primaries.
The VON DG said this at a media briefing at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja yesterday, where he also stated that he had earlier advised Oshiomhole to resign honourably but he refused.
The VON DG said, “Penultimate week, I joined the league of APC moral leaders, faithful and men of good conscience to call on Comrade Adams Oshiohmole, to honourably resign forthwith as the chairmanship of our great party.
“In his usual narcissistic disposition, he refused.
“As the ‘Oshiohmole Must Go’ wave raged, the Department of State Services got wind of it.
“They interrogated him and I patiently waited to read from Comrade Oshiomhole and his spin doctors over his tango with the DSS, in the social or mainstream media, neither rebuttal nor denial came from them.
“I, therefore, once again stridently call on Comrade Oshiomhole to instead of pontification, grandstanding and running away from the country, do the needful by honourably resigning the chairmanship of our great party.”

Nwaforj44: The Nigerian Union of Traders Association Ghana (NUTAG), has commended President Mohammadu Buhari-led government, ECOWAS, Ghanaian authority and others for their intervention in the reopening of Nigerians shops in Ghana.
The President of NUTAG, Mr Chukwuemeka Nnaji, said this in a telephone conversation with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) from Kumasi Ghana on Thursday.
NAN reports that hundreds of shops run by Nigerians were reportedly shut following an impasse with the Ghana Union of Traders Association (GUTA).
The closure of the shops was allegedly in compliance with authorities mulling some legislation compelling foreigners to have one million dollars (R14.3 million) as minimum foreign investment capital to do business in Ghana.
Nnaji who confirmed the reopening of the shops by the authority in Ghana said that the government of Nigeria had worked so hard to achieve the feat.
“Yes, the Government of Nigeria has worked so hard to bring this success. All our shops are now opened. We want to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for his intervention,” he said.
He recalled that President Buhari had sent a special envoy led by Foreign Affairs Minister, and President of ECOWAS Commission, Jean Claude Brou, to Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo over the matter.
“We also commend the ECOWAS president, Jean Claude Brou, and his commissioners and other envoys sent to Ghana so many times over the issue.
“We also want to thank the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Geoffrey Onyeama, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, for their efforts,” he said.
Nnaji noted that the Minister had on Nov 2, summoned the Ghanaian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Amb. Rashid Bawa, over the situation on the reopening of the shops.
He commended the Nigerian High Commissioner to Ghana, Amb. Olufemi Abikoye, and his Ghanaian counterpart, Bawa, on their efforts in resolving the impasse.
Nnaji also expressed the union’s appreciation to Ghanaian President Akufo-Addo for his efforts and the role played in ensuring that the closed shops were reopened.
NAN also recalled that President Akufo-Addo had assured Nigerians in his country of freedom to operate their businesses without harassment.
Akufo-Addo said this while receiving President Buhari’s Special Envoy to Ghana, led by Foreign Affairs Minister, Mr Geofrey Onyeama.
He urged Nigerians to go about their normal businesses in Ghana.
“As far as the traders are concerned, the shops are re-opened; people are back to work.
“Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Act will never be applicable to ECOWAS citizens; so people can get on with their normal lives,” he said.

Oak Television, the platform responsible for releasing a viral video of Nigeria's information minister, Lai Mohammed stating that it cost the Federal government, N3.5 million monthly to feed the detained leader of IMN, Ibrahim Elzakzaky, has issued a public apology.
Barely 24 hours after releasing the footage, the platform has apologised for doing so. The Minister had told journalists that he was speaking off the record not knowing that the conversation was still being recorded by Oak.
The video, however, still made its way to the public and has since gone viral, drawing wide criticisms.
The apology letter, which was made available to PoliticsNGR, was addressed to the minister stating that the publication “is an error which we regret. All team members involved have been sanctioned, and we would do more to tighten our gate-keeping responsibilities.”
