I may have used the wrong word "foolish" and I apologize about that but trying to imply that it may not affect Igbos much is hogwash. After adjusting prices to sell for the traders, you will still buy other items from other people adjusting prices as well. You will still pay adjusted school fees. Now those in Igboland, are they all traders? Do you have different prices for Igbos and adjusted prices for others??
you are correct

It is foolish to say it may not affect Igbos. We buy from the same market, we operate under the same economy and we are all facing the economic realities together. The only difference is the average Igbo man will adapt without complain
it also foolish not to read and understand. I use the word 'may not affect igbo MUCH'

2006 when buhari became a president. I know i studied his body language and advice Nigerians on how to survive on this thread. https://www.nairaland.com/2811049/how-survive-2016-expected-economic

Some called me a prophet of doom, but when Buhari started dealing with them, the started to edit their post and called me a prophet. I am not a prophet. As an igbo business man, I only have the ability to see the future base on data available to me.

This year January told my oga a Yoruba who is a nairalander here to store food. He said no that he want to use his money to buy a contruction equipment for rental. I tried all I can to discourage him because I know in time like this contruction will not move but he refused. I even beg him to store the food and resale it by July and still buy the equipment with change he refused and went ahead to buy the equipment. Till now he has not rent out this equipment. Cement has increased and no chance breaking even the cost of this machine in the nearest future.

I told him I want to buy food he started laughing at me. Even jokingly called my wife to discourage me. Their laugh did not move me. I came online to start learning about food storage. I spent 2 day and night to study food storage. I can in contact with a good hausa friend on this nairaland. His user name is shariff84. Who help me buy food from. The north. I also get another woman from benue state to by for me. All my storage cost me about 5miill

I bought this food last month and within this January/ February some of the food have double while my friend is yet to make any rent. eg beans garri, rice, yarm etc.

What am I trying to say

We Igbos are mostly traders. As trader you are very closer to market data and trend. A trader can easily analyze and focast the likely future price of good unlike a civil servant. A hausa man is also in a good position to focus the future price of Agriculture but they don't because everything is the will of God, and beliefs that When the time comes God will provide.

To average igbo man everything is about business
To housa man everything is about religion
To a Yoruba man everything is about entertainment.

Cement is very important. Almost 50% of Nigerian depends on construction site to survive, and most of them depends on daily labor to survive with little or nothing to save. Imagine what will happen if construction site stop working. Infact many site have already stopped working because of cement

This is a good result of the meeting.

My problem though is the fact that Mr President, his vice, 36 Governors and FCT minister sat for hours long meeting and they can't come up with an immediate solution/policy that will send shockwaves to the market, thereby making hoarding impossible for most.

Our leaders really need to do better, put on their thinking cap, if they still have one, and start using the outside of the box for reasoning.
oga this is not good. It is a very bad policy. Nigeria is a capitalist nation. Lazy man go and work and stop Waiting for government confiscated food. Those good are people sweat.
PoliticsRe: Sincerely Let Us Support Tinubu by nabiz(op): 5:35am On Feb 18, 2024
malali:
Tinubu needs to delegate more, he is too old to handle every Nigerian issue in his office, He needs to set up a smart think thank generating ideas on public image laundering every 24hrs. The opposition is working harder than the incumbent to portray a certain public image for this administration.

Minister of Information, should be on the TV, radio in all Nigerian languages and dialect telling Nigerians what is planned and the process. Every month he should hold a press conference and be grilled by journalist, on the administrations policies.
Minister Of agriculture, should start meeting with large scale farmers in different geo political zones, and parlaying with them.
All other ministers should also engage the public, if they are doing a good job a lot of these uprisings will not always get to the presidents desk
The senate should start meeting with non performing sector controllers, to give them a widely televised questions and answer sessions
House of Rep committees, should be announcing making announcements as well, all the banking changes and forex changes, should be done and announced after grilling sessions with house committee on bankings.

Billionaire Business men in the private sector should also be saddled with corporate social responsibility projects CSR. To whom much is given much is expected. Let them get government favors with the amount of CSR they execute. We all know they dont pay anything for the raw materials obtained in Nigeria, so they are technically milking the country for their wealth. The communities they get these raw materials from should feel their presence.

Tinubu needs to sit in the middle and "delegate" to all these cabinet members, put them to work, they lobbied for these positions, make them work and sweat. The president should just address very major crises. At Tinubu's age truth be told, he doesn't have the energy. Surround yourself with thinkers, and then form a kitchen cabinet of loyalist to vet the other cabinet members before public utterances are made. Reward and praise cabinet members that solve problems. To make the others sit up.
very insightful

PoliticsSincerely Let Us Support Tinubu by nabiz(op): 4:57am On Feb 18, 2024
I dont like tinubu but I have noticed something. I am suspecting that the northern oligarchy mainly the fulanis are the one sabotaging/fighting Tinubu's government. This people have been in government for year without doing anything in Nigeria. They are very rich and powerful. Something must be going on which we don't know.
Tinubu must be fighting to stop their agenda. Are they fighting Tinubu because he wants to tampered with the constitution, example state police which will put and end their conquering agender, i know there are more to it.

As I said, I dont like Tinubu because of the way he became president but he has good intentions for Nigeria. He may not be the messiah but he will make way for the messiah by curtailing the power of the oligarchy who have been holding this country for ransom. This group are very powerful and you can never pls them.. they always want their way in everything

My advice is that the indigenous Nigerian from North to South should rally round and support Tinubu. Tinubu may be fighting a war that many of us are not seeing and if we don't support him he may back down or they may use military to remove him given the reason that he is on able to govern Nigeria.

As earlier said. I dont like Tinubu. I did not vote for him. But I know it is the will of God for Tinubu to be a president. God can use anybody. The same people that are fighting him use him against Jonathan, but from today I will support him. I will endure with him.

Instead of suggesting solutions, you're busy running your mouth.
who told you they are after fertile land. Fulani have bigger plan in nigeria than ordinary land. Fulani come to Nigeria to conquer. It is only fulanis that have plan in Nigeria, other tribes are just existing. Fulani don't have ancetrial land of their own. They are scattered on part of Africa and wants to use Nigeria as their inheritance through conquering. British have agreed to hand over Nigeria to fulani.

Like the opp wrote, in the nearest future you may no see and Indigeneous Nigeria again the same way you hardly see Indigenous Egyptian. The fulanis want Nigeria to remain underdeveloped so that Indigenous Nigerian will be running away from Nigeria while the kept trooping into Nigeria

Our Indigenous you who suppose to stand and fight for her mother land are running away from the country. Some of them have even swear to never come back because the European have given them a little comfort.

Nigeria you stop running away. Everyday Indigenous Nigerian are been weakened. Indigenous hausas have been conquered. The fulanis a strategist they know want the want.

Fulani have ruled Nigeria severely with nothing to show.

My advice is for for Nigerian to form an Indigenous Nigeria people party to take back their country

cooltola:
I recently visited the Federal ministry of Agriculture page online and was not really impressed. All I saw was a bunch of men and women taking photos in their agbada and native wear. While the prices of food is becoming high, I wonder what this ministry is doing about this? How can Nigeria mass produce food ? we have fertile lands in our country and the manpower to do so, the only problem is security and stealing from workers. Food should be cheap and ready available, the only reason why food price is very high is because many food items in Nigeria are imported from other countries. Many countries see Nigeria as a bank, they do not care if $1 is ₦200000, all they care is getting their money. They will price their food items based on their currency , not naira. And there is where the problem lies.
A hungry man will not care if the food is locally made or imported as long he eats. We should support our farmers in anyway or shape.
there should be a government/farmers partnership. Government should encourage rural farmers to form a cooperative. Government should provide tractors and other farms machinery to each local government in nigeria. Why government should encourage community farmers to form a cooperative. The cooperative should provide land in hectares through community while the government should provide a farm machinery service at a low cost to the cooperative.

Government should take security very seriously.

Government should also stock stop police from collecting money from food distributors on the high way

This is the way to go.

Why store up food in warehouses outside of the market environment and create artificial scarcity so you can maximize profit at the expense of your fellow citizens?

As long as those warehouses were loaded by Street boys, they can always be located.

Remembered those days of "essential commodities" in the late 80's. Every hoarded commodity discovered was auctioned by the military to the general public at specified prices.

Hoarding of food should be designated as TREASON.
why do apc member always reason like animal. The owner of the warehouse should stake the state government to court

Treasonous stockpiling of foreign currencies bought with Naira inside Nigeria.

Treasonous foreign healthcare with Nigerian funds.

An average Nigerian is selfish. As far as they are benefiting from a bad government they will not complain forgetting that nothing last forever.

And average Nigerian is selfish and will prefer to commit suicide instead of sacrificing that same life to go to aso Rock or national assembly deal with those leaders and make name for themselves for the living to benefit.

Nigerians should stop dying for nothing. Instead of committing suicide why note use that life as a sacrifice a visit house of assembly, aso rock or the judiciary. The good this is that they may not kill you. But even if they kill you you become a hero instead of committing suicide
