I did my biometrics at TLS Abuja on Tuesday, 8th Sept, and got decision mail on Friday, 11th Sept.

Up till now, nothing. Application still at DMC stage on tracker.

I got tired of waiting and went to TLS this afternoon...folks there said they haven't gotten my passport and they don't understand the delay. Today's the 7th working day after biometrics

I paid for priority and did walk-in.

Any ideas?

Tbh, since you went there this afternoon, you should have pressed them to explain what happened. If TLS don't understand the delay, how on Earth do you expect us ordinary people to know

Personal Travel Allowance.
Basically you get money cheaper from the bank than what it’ll cost you in the black market.

Example : 4000USD PTA will cost you approximately 1.6m.
That same 4000USD in black market will cost you approximately 1.9m.

So if you’re travelling, you can request for PTA.
Only give you once in 3 months.

General Advice;

If you are looking to apply for PTA, submit your application at most (1)week before your travel date. Getting PTA is now VERY HARD! Most branches will tell you that there’s no space until weeks after your travel date.

Don’t wait for few days to submit your application.
Make sure you’ve deposited the funds already, else your slot will be given to someone else. I have been running around all morning and saying abeg abeg to different operational managers this morning.

Again some banks will only give you DOLLARS.
They don’t all have GBP or EURO.
So you have to change the Dollars to the currency you want.

Today’s rate for PTA
Dollars : 386
Euro : 463
GBP: idk bc I didn’t ask but a friend collected at 501

Limit is 4000USD.

Note again: YOU MUST PRESENT A RETURN TICKET even if you’re going as a student. ONE WAY TICKETS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.

No. Those who submitted from last week are been handled by UKVI Pretoria while those of you who submitted last month are going through the previous process. Things have changed now. Just be patient

Also I usually prefer buying tickets from the airline website..but it looks like this time..I will patronise travel agents because their tickets for one way is by far cheaper!!

You will see priority visa when you have made your visa payment and have been directed to TLS contact

I don't think that's available for now sef, I couldn't get it myself. I heard there's a huge backlog and they have to deal with that first

I think 800k is sufficient for visa and IHS for those going after September for 2 years programme. The difference between current IHS and proposed IHS is more or less £500 when computed for 2 years and 4 months

Please when did you make your payment and are they paying up to £4000?

I actually paid around £13,000 using form A at the bank, I couldn't pay up the remaining because there is a restriction per student. Each student can only make around $14,000 at once and then you'd have to wait for 3 months for another such transaction to your school.

However, during all the times I made the payment, it took at most 2 days and I got my telex copy. Sent it to school and school confirmed payment within 2 days also. So I'm surprised people are using 3 weeks to a month for such transactions.

BESTOFIT:
I paid my school fees deposit with form A via GTB July 9th but it took a week then. GTB charged me #502/£1 then. Relax it will be done but it might take time , especially now that it's scarce. Just notify your school that you have paid.

Polaris is very fast, it was done within two days lol

Had the same issue with my school certificate, I spoke to a lawyer about it and he told me to do Notary Public(newspaper publication plus affidavit), and that’s what I did.

I'm to submit my documents next week, hope it wouldn't jeopardize my chances?

The interviewer was really nice and friendly. I'll advise those preparing for interview to be calm and truthful. It's just you having a conversation with another person.

if you are going for a 2 year program, budget about a milli for ihs and visa fees if you will be applying after September and about 700k for a year program if applying after September too

No more capping on studying. No more maintenance for students already inn doing another program. You can come inn 6 months before course start. And above all 2 yrs post work.

Yes, but to have peace of mind deposit more so as to take care of exchange rate fluctuation. e.g rather than 476 you round it up 490-500.

Few people have been refused a visa because of exchange rate fluctuation though i have also read from people who was given a visa despite the fact that their money dropped a bit on the day the bank statement was printedout.

Would using a pound account help?
