ZONE 13 POLICE HEADQUARTERS DIARY:

POLICE OPERATIVES REPEL ATTACK ON ZONE 13 HEADQUARTERS, UKPO

• Neutralize one of the attackers, recover one GPMG and several ammunition

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force attached to Zone-13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Anambra State have successfully repelled an attack on the Zonal Headquarters by criminal elements in the early hours of today, 19th April, 2021. The attackers, who came in their numbers shooting sporadically in order to gain access to the facility, were repelled by Police personnel on duty who showed profound gallantry in the face of the seemingly overwhelming attack.

Following the inability of the attackers to access the facility, they cowardly threw petrol bombs and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) on vehicles within the periphery of the Headquarters. One of the criminal elements was neutralized during the exchange of gunfire between the Police and the attackers while many of the gang members escaped with gunshots injuries. One L7A2 General-Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG), Ninety-two rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition, one locally-made smoke pistol and an axe were recovered by the Police. Regrettably, two police operatives sustained gunshot injuries and are presently receiving treatment.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, CP Kuryas Monday, fsi, who is also standing in for the Zonal Assistant Inspector General of Police, has commended the Police operatives for putting up a strong resistance against the attackers.

The CP, supported by other senior officers from Zone-13 Headquarters and the State Command, is personally leading a special operation aimed at tracing, identifying and arresting the perpetrators to bring them to book. He also called on proprietors of private and public (including unorthodox) medical facilities in and around Anambra state to admit, but report anyone found seeking medical attention for bullet wounds and related injuries to the nearest police station.

The CP has called on citizens in the State not to panic but to go about their lawful duties. While assuring of the Command’s resolve to re-dominate, reclaim and secure all public spaces as directed by the Inspector General of Police, the CP enjoins members of the public to continue to support the Police with vital and timely information on the activities of criminals and other subversive elements within their respective communities.

I decided not to engage some folks here who are fond of looking for either fake or negatives news so as to justify either their #LekkiLies or the pained from the defeat they suffered in 2015/19 respectively

it will be an insult and a big slap on the Hon. Minister's face and that of FG if they accept this retraction like that without dealing with Daily Independent

Yes , the agenda is real against this govt but this is an opportunity for the govt to put into use its sledge hammer

Will they call back the Publication that has already gone viral ?

My brother, please wake up the Nigerian Police force they have slept for too long.

Why won't the police sleep? The military has recruited thousands of able men and women since Buhari came into power. The same Buhari only recruited 20K policemen within that period.

The military was gifted a $1Billon by GEJ from the Execss Crude oil account. Buhari on two occasions was dole out Billions of Dollars in extra budgetary allocation to the military. What has the military done with the money? All the Guntrucks BHT are currently using are from the NA.

The Police is the most hated institution in this Presidency, the police is the most under funded agency in this administration.

GEJ was the last President to provide vehicles to the police, the SAFER HIGHWAY VEHICLES you see on the highway are the last batch of vehicles given to the police in 2014.

Whyem15:
Moses Jitoboh isn't the next most senior officer( he joined the police force in 1994 while Usman Alkali Baba joined 1988). According to NPF website, he is only an acting DIG while Usman Alkali Baba is a full DIG. https://www.npf.gov.ng/info/contacts_mgt.php
Although one would have expected him to be chosen to be the next IGP solely because he is the only officer that can be considered for that post that still has more than 4 years of service(9 years). Majority of the rest will retire either in 2022 or 2023. Going by the new police act, he should be the next IGP and that is probably why Usman Alkali Baba is serving in an acting role( he was announced as acting IGP). The only advantage Moses has over the others is age and time left in service. Usman should retire 2023 and Moses will be the most senior NPF officer.

I would have been smarter for the administration to choose Joseph Egbunike for the acting position instead because he is the only one from the south east and that might delay things a bit though he too will be retiring next year.

Just confirmed that Joseph Egbunike was promoted from CP to DIG while Usman Alkali was promoted from AIG to DIG December last year. So Usman is actually his senior if that counts at all.
https://dailytrust.com/psc-dismisses-four-senior-police-officers
80% of Moses Jitoboh mates are still CSP, a few are ACP, he got accelerated promotions while ADC to GEJ. He has never held any operational capacity during his middle age ranking. He was never a DPO or Area Commander which are the two most important cadre where experience are gathered.

In terms of seniority, DIG Ops Sanusi Lemu from Niger State is the most senior,

The army is over stretched because the police have failed.
The Police failed because 80% of the security budget went to the military and yet no tangible results so far. If the military had tackle BH and Fulani Herdsmen in due time, they won't be this stretched.

It's a miracle the police is still functioning as a cohesive entity with the meager amount it receives as budget.

Afor Umuaka, Imo state

Easter eve.

I wont post the gory video.

Unknown gunmen shot and killed two suya sellers.

Two innocent poor folks scratching the ground to survive were slaughtered by self appointed freedom fighters

The aim is obvious.

They want to instigate reprisals in the north.

They sent a town that provides evening recreation for neighbouring communities shivering on easter eve

That is their path to freedom.

The slaughter of Igbo police officers in Igbo land. The murder of the down trodden

The cowardly random murder of the poor and policemen.

Igbo land has been defiled.

Igbos were once known for shrewdness.

You control the biggest markets in Africa.

Alaba and Aspamda. Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi.

You own commerce on the Arrican West Coast.

You own a sizable chunk of Lagos' prized real estate

You dominate Abuja's coveted property market.

You own lush estates in Kano

In every state in the federation, outside your home territory, you are only second to the locals in influence.

Social injustices and poverty in Nigeria might have retarded you, but your are years ahead of most of the other ethnic groups

You have skilled manpower. You have cash.

Let me concede that Nigeria is badly run

But you have the most developed villages

And perhaps, the highest per capita income in the badly run system.

You were neglected, but you have prospered

You have one of the best literacy levels in Africa

You are the only group in Nigeria that has more wealth in other parts of nigeria than home territory.

You are more entrenched in Nigeria than anyone else

You have arguably the most enterprising diaspora population of any ethnic group in the entire continent

Yet you are the most aggrieved

You have by your industry laid yourself like mat over the space called Nigeria.

Yet it's you who craves self determination.

Take a look at your civil war scars.

Those who own the oil and live more wretchedly do not seek war half as much as you want it.

You are gifted but contain your sense exceptionalism.

The conditions that necessitated Biafra existed in 1966. They do not exist today.

Biafra is not a toy. It wont be a paradise.

Do not allow loudmouthed peripatetic quack medicine dealers sell you expired cancer drugs for your headache.

A wise hen with many chicks dreads the whirlwind

But you are here championing confusion.

You used to be shrewd

IPOB Members arrested for unprovoked killings of security operatives
NigeriaPoliceForce Mar 28, 2021 10:06 AM
• No murderer will go unpunished…we are closing up on them, says IGP.

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have arrested sixteen (16) suspects for complicity in a series of violent and unprovoked attacks on security operatives and facilities in some states of the Federation, particularly in the South-Eastern part of Nigeria. The arrest, which is an outcome of painstaking, deliberate and tireless efforts by operatives of the Nigeria Police working in collaboration with their counterparts from the Nigerian Army and the Nigerian Airforce is aimed at bringing to justice persons responsible for the emerging trend of attacks on security personnel and wanton destruction of security facilities and operational assets.

The suspects - Ugochukwu Samuel a.k.a Biggy, 28-year-old native of Arochukwu LGA in Abia State; Raphael Idang, 31-year-old native of Odukpani LGA of Cross River state; Cletus Nwachukwu Egole aka ‘Alewa’, 60-years-old native of Orlu in Imo State; Michael Uba, 33yrs from Imo State; and twelve (12) others in the course of investigation, were implicated in multiple felonies committed across several states in the South-Eastern part of the Federation. The suspects were arrested in various parts of the country following sustained, and intelligence-driven sting operations.

Police investigations clearly established and linked the suspects to several incidents of attacks and murder of security personnel as well as stealing, unlawful possession of firearms, arson and malicious damage to operational assets of military and law enforcement agents.

Specifically, investigations revealed that the duo of Ugochukwu Samuel aka Biggy and Raphael Idang were among the criminal elements that attacked policemen on duty at a checkpoint on 24th December, 2020 along Orlu-Ihiala Road in Imo state where two police officers were killed and a Police Hilux patrol van set ablaze. In addition, both were part of a larger group that attacked a police reconnaissance team on 13th January, 2021 killing one police officer. Ugochukwu Samuel a.k.a Biggy, who sustained a bullet wound during an attack by his gang on a military convoy in which some soldiers were killed and weapons carted away, was subsequently arrested while receiving treatment in a hospital. Both suspects confessed to being active members of IPOB and ESN.

Cletus Nwachukwu Egole aka Alewa, a pastor with the Holy Blessed Trinity Sabbath Church, Orlu, Imo State and Michael Uba, a prophet with the Association of Jewish Faith, who were also arrested, are two of the masterminds of the various attacks on security personnel, in addition to providing spiritual cover for the gang. Cletus Nwachukwu Egole aka Alewa’s house was used by the gang members to plan their nefarious operations. He also donated his late brother’s farmland for use as a hideout and training camp for the gang.

A total of nine (9) AK47 rifles, five (5) other sophisticated firearms, seventeen (17) AK47 Magazines, 549 AK47 live ammunition, 10 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), camouflage bullet proof vests, walkie talkies and other incriminating items were recovered from the suspects.

Meanwhile, the Inspector General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, NPM, mni has reiterated that the Force will not tolerate any further attack on its personnel or any citizen by any individual or group under any guise whatsoever. He assures that Law Enforcement Agents have gathered sufficient intelligence on the attackers and are closing up on scores of suspects already implicated in the attacks either directly or indirectly for financing, aiding and abetting the criminals. He stresses that no murderer will go unpunished. The IGP enjoins parents/guardians as well as traditional/opinion leaders to weigh in and prevail on their children/wards to desist from towing the destructive paths of crime.

All the suspects will be charged to

Yusuf Buhari, the son of President Muhammadu Buhari, is planning to marry the daughter of Emir of Bichi in Kano State, Nasir Bayero.

Zahra Bayero is currently a bachelor’s student in the United Kingdom, studying architecture.

Yusuf is a 2016 graduate of University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom.

Credible sources told DAILY NIGERIAN that the wedding ceremony will take place “in the next two to three months”.

“Preparations are on top gear for the grand event. As the tradition provides, the parents of the groom have met with the parents of the bride to express Yusuf’s interest in marrying Zahra,” the source said, pleading anonymity.

The source added that the event would have taken place earlier but for the absence of the groom’s mother, Aisha Buhari, who recently returned from a six-month medical trip in Dubai.

“Now that his mother returned a few weeks to Ramadan [Muslim holy month], it is clear the wedding will take place after Sallah holidays,” the source said.

On December 27, 2017, Yusuf was involved in a ghastly power bike accident around Gwarinpa area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.

He was stabilized for about a month at an Abuja hospital before he was flown abroad for treatment. He returned to Nigeria from the medical trip on March 1, 2018.

He remains reclusive after miraculously surviving the ghastly powerbike crash.
