I want to ask a question.

When a president chooses an officer who is junior to numerous other senior officers for a top position, forcing the seniors into retirement, the senior officers are supposed to receive pension right?

Basically, officers who should be actively serving the nation, are retired in droves into doing nothing, not only denying the country of their contributions, but drawing money from the national purse simply being idle.

And this has been happening for decades.

So we are basically talking about hundreds if not thousands of such officers.

Is this the practice in other countries?

Or is this (sometimes) unnecessary waste peculiar to Nigeria?

Folks, I think that the attacks being carried out by UGM in Akwa Ibom are probably not by IPOB or IPOB affiliated groups. They clearly do not have the reach in those locations. Those attacks might be carried out by local groups imitating what is happening in the SE.
I also think that Kanu is not in control of these UGM stuff. He is inciting and taking credit but those guys on the ground are running their own show. The different groups in different states are most likely not even connected.

No Police station in the SE and some part of SS have a functional armoury. All excess arms have been moved to a safe place and well guarded. Only arms of daily rotation are kept. The Poiice are not daft to continue keeping excess unused arms in isolated Police divisions. So all these reports of Police divisional armoury looted are false.

First and foremost, I served in 3 different UN Missions, UNMIL, UNMISET and lastly MINUSMA. The post of a force commander is advertised, applications are accepted and a lot of criterias normally come into play when appointments are made. The Rwanda General probably have gone on several UN missions which tend to give him an edge over even a America General with no prior UN experience.

When I was in Liberia, most of these tiny African countries like Rwanda, Gambia, Malawi etc rend to have greater representation in leadership positions than Nigerians or Ghanaians. Why become, tgoer Police and Military strength is small ans as such they tend to experience more missions than we do with far greater strength.

It has noting to do with tribe or religion. The FPU Coordinator in Liberia was a Rwanda who has attended missions over missions. Infact the dude is usually called Mr. UN because of the number of UN medals he has earned.

Note, an ASP with 2 mission experience can be made a DPO, while a Deputy Commissioner with no UN Misson will be posted as an IPO or desk officer in the same division.
