The Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has announced the commencement of enrollment for the batch C  N-Power programme effective, June 26.


Sequel to these announcement,  below are some guidelines on how to prepare for the application when the portal is open.

The N-Power application portal has been open to all eligible Nigerians since 11:45 pm on June 26, 2020

Applicants are to note that the application process is completely free and there is no application fee.

They are however requested to read and understand all relevant information prior to applying.

Applicants should note the following steps:

1. This programme is open to only applicants aged 18-35 (This means you must have been born between 1985 and 2002)

2. Before you go on to apply, ensure you have the following:

A print out or accurate details of your Bank Verification Number (BVN)
A recent passport photograph (1MB) either JPEG or PNG files
Valid contact – Email address or a working phone number
Your Degree certificate and NYSC certificate, if you are a graduate and wish to apply for N-Teach or N-Health

3. Once the portal re-opens for npower application, Log on to www.npower.fmhds.gov.ng

4. Once you get on the application portal, you will be required to read the terms and conditions of the N-Power programme and accept that all the information provided is truthful and accurate.

Input your valid contact information (Email or Phone number)
The information will redirect you to your email address for confirmation.
Once your email address has been confirmed, fill in your 11-digit BVN and date of birth in the following order (dd/mm/yy), if your BVN details are inaccurate, you will not be permitted to go past this interface.

5. Bio data and contact page: Fill in your surname, first name, and middle name in identical terms to your BVN information.

6. Education and Programme page: kindly indicate if you have received education or not.

The N-Power programme is open to all.

The N-Teach and N-Health sub-programmes are however open to only graduates.
(In addition, please note that for N-Power Health, selection preference will be given to holders of Bachelor’s degree, HND, OND in health sciences such as Medicine, Microbiology, Nursing, Public Health, Botany, Midwifery, Psychology or other allied disciplines in the science)
Where applicable, you will be required to upload your degree certificates and NYSC certificate

7. Employment and other details page: you will be required to answer some questions and upload your government issued Identity Card.

Kindly note that the acceptable Government IDs are: International passport, National ID card issued by NIMC, Valid driver’s license, Permanent voter’s card.

Review all the information you have inputted and then submit.
Upon submission, you will receive a unique ID number, write it down and keep it safe.

The Ministry had announced last week that Batch A will exit June 30, 2020 and Batch B will exit the programme on July 31, 2020.

The programme since inception has enrolled 500,000 applicants so far.

200,000 applicants were enrolled in Batch A which started in 2016 while 300,000 from Batch B which kick started in August 2018.

The beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme according to the Minister will henceforth serve for less than 24 months.

New research shows that women with bigger breasts suffer worse cold and flu than those with flatter chest.

Women with bigger boobs may have more of an excuse to call in sick when the colder winter weather rolls round.

That’s because new research has revealed that women with larger breasts suffer much worse colds and take longer to recover than those with flatter chests.

In fact, bigger busts can result in respiratory infections taking twice as long to clear, according to research published in the journal Archives of Sexual Behaviour.

It found ladies with F-cup sized breasts carried symptoms of colds, coughs and flu for an average of 8.3 days – compared to just 3.8 days for those with AA busts.

Those with bigger breasts were also a staggering 56 times more likely to be prescribed a course of antibiotics.

It’s thought that fat stored in the boobs can weaken the immune system due to higher levels of the hormone leptin, which makes it more difficult to recover from colds and chest infections.

The research, which surveyed more than 400 young women on the symptoms and duration of colds, flu and other respiratory infections they had experienced in the last three years, stated: “Breast size was positively related to respiratory infections.”

Actress, movie producer and happily married mum of twins, Funke Akindele, has expedited the arrest of a Security guard who broke the head of a woman with a belt.


Crying out on her Instagram page, Funke narrated the incident thus:

“Just heading back home after shoot.Saw a woman crying and bleeding from the head I had to stop with my driver then she said the security guys at the circle mall JAkAnde broke her head with their belt. I asked but they ignored me. So I need someone to answer to this. I think this is unfair. Why attack her. She didn’t even enter their territory.”

Manchester City boss, Pep Guardiola, has admitted that his side had no answer for the speed of three Manchester United’s attackers in their 2-1 home defeat to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men on Saturday.

A 14-year-old Senior Secondary School student of Kess College in Ekredjebor area of Ughelli, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has reportedly committed suicide over a failed relationship with her boyfriend.

According to Vanguard, the deceased simply identified as Favour who was in SS1, was found dangling from a ceiling fan in her home with a suicide note stating reasons for her action.

Her corpse was said to have been discovered by a friend who had visited Favour to make her hair.

A resident of the area said the deceased is an only child of her parents and was home alone when she carried out the act.

“It was one of the girl’s friends that raised an alarm when she saw her body dangling from a ceiling fan. When people came into the house, they also saw a note she had written, stating that she decided to take her life owing to a failed relationship with a male from the same school she attended.” the resident said

A Police source at the Ughelli ‘B’ Division Police Station confirmed the incident and said investigations into the matter is ongoing. The source added that the body of the deceased has been deposited in the morgue.
